I have the iPhone 3 (iOS 4.2.1) and I cannot update to iOS 5.
I have the iPhone 3 (iOS 4.2.1) and I cannot update to iOS 5. iTunes tells me my current version is the latest version. I have the latest version of iTunes.
Any advice?
The iPhone 3G came out about 4 years ago, and the hardware they had at that time can not support the latest and greatest iOS 5.

- Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
- Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores. -
I have an Iphone OS 4.3.3 and need to update with a different library than the original.
I have an Iphone OS 4.3.3 and need to update. I have not done so since the first Itunes library used to setup my phone was done on a friend's computer and is not longer available for me. Loading to a different library requires me to erase the contents before updating. I have already come to terms with the disappointing reality of losing my media, however, will my text message history, phone contacts/numbers, notes saved in the basic built-in notes app or ANYTHING else be effected or wiped during this process? Does the backup function secure this data even though I'm using a different Library?
Hoping there's anyone with a promising answer to this concern.

Why does my iPhone 4 gets very lag and unstable after updated to iOS 5.1?
I have been using iOS 5.0.1 previously without any problem and smooth, however after i updated to iOS 5.1, my phone is getting unstable.
Every time when i unlock my screen, it may lag for a few seconds. This issue does not happened when i'm using iOS 5.0.1. I did restore my phone using iTunes but the issue is still there. Anyone able to help me pls?Try restarting your iPhone 5 by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo. Then give it a try.

My ipod touch 3,5 gen works on 4.2.1 softwear version and need to update to 4.3 so I can run my app Numbers that I've just bought yesterday.It doesn't update automatically. I'm in Portugal. What can I do to solve this?
What model iPod do you have? A 2G only can go to 4.2.1. The 3G and 4G can go to the latest. 4.3.3. Identify your iPod here:

It seems to me that there is any hardware problem because when I make a call, no one can hear me...
Are you using a protective case on your phone? If it's not made for your exact model of iPhone it can cover the microphone.

It still charges in the wall, but when it comes to putting songs or pictures on my iPod, it won't connect to iTunes or charge while plugged into my computer.

Why not? That's essentially all the install does, removes the old version and installs the new version. -
I have a new macbook pro running lion and want to update to ios 5 on my ipod touch. My old macbook only has 10.4.11 and can't be updated to lion - and won't update my ipod touch to ios 5. But the message on my new macbook pro says I have to update on the computer I normally use for syncing or my music will be lost. Is there any solution for this?
try exporting your iTunes libary from the old computer to the new one

Group messaging simply puts all replies in one conversation in Messages. It doesn't prevent the behavior you experienced.
My suggestion which would be much easier in my opinion, is rather than do a text, send out an email and use bcc: , which will keep the audience hidden from each recipient.
Otherwise, if you're determinted to do only texts, the only way is to send your message to one person at a time. You can of course copy/paste your msg each time which might be helpful. -
i have the iphone 3gs and ive dropped it a few times. when i press the home and lock button, it will not turn on, but when i plug it in, it says in big font IOS 6 and when i slide it open it says connect to itunes or emergency call. it wont turn on when i plug it in to my pc. tips?
