If all basic troubleshooting has been tried and a restore as new does not resolve, take it to Apple for evalation and possible replacement.

My experience is with the iPhone 4S and the "new" iPad, both of which I ordered early on the opening pre-order day. In both cases the wording from Apple during the media event was "pre-orders will start on ABC date for delivery on XYZ date" which was also the same day they were to go on sale in stores. In both cases, the UPS truck rolled up earlier than usual XYZ date as promised to hand me my new iPhone/iPad. In both cases there were instances of confusion due to some pre-order confirmations stating incorrectly "SCHEDULED SHIPPING DATE: XYZ". In both cases that caused much fear, panick, and trepidation that fed upon itself as it permeated a widely scattered forum linked community of "adults" that seem to collectively revert to a state of childish impatience and ultimately child-like glee as they obsessively refresh their dedicated tracking browser window; become convinced that there is no hope of escaping the dread delayed shippment, and then finally receive their new toy exactly when they were supposed to. Not that I personally would ever succumb to that of course. Er uhm ... it's just what I've seen you know .. nothing I can really relate to.

I recently did the 5.3 update to my Apple TV and now it is running sluggish and things keep freezing and then pictures are loading on top of each other. Then I did a hard reset today and now the WWDC app is gone. Anyone else having these issues?
I have been having problems with my atv 3 not transmitting/receiving 5.1 surround. Whether I stream from my computer or watch movies, I am getting no 5.1 audio. The atv won't even show the option for surround. I tried to restore and reset the device but it didn't help.
I haven't had any problems with missing apps or freezing or anything similar to what you are experiencing. This update has many bugs. Other threads have reported even more problems. Hopefully I can go back to the previous update. -
My ringer volume keeps turning itself up to max and then the volume icon stays on the screen, anyone know how to fix this?

I downloaded iOS 7.0.2, and now my iPhone 5 keeps turning itself off and the battery useage is twice what it was. I want iOS 6 back! How do I uninstall iOS 7?>
So, after it charged and was still plugged in, I deleted the Exchange account and then reset it holding down the sleep wake buttons until the apple logo appeared. I also changed the limit on my emails to 3 days instead of 1 week. It turned on, so I turned it off and let it charge overnight. This morning, it stayed on for 3 whole hours and then shut itself off again. I had to try 5 times to get it to come back on. Now, a message appeared that Exchange cannot verify a server, I can't see the full name of the server anymore, but it is *.hotmail.com GlobalSign Root CA from Microsoft. So I'm selecting Accept to see what happens. I'm very discouraged, I need my phone to be reliable for my work. It was reliable for 11 months without one problem, and now since I downloaded iOS 7, it hasn't been on for one full day since.

I updated my iphone 5 today and now I get a message on my phone that tells me to plug in and when plugged in to the computer I have a message that my phone is in recovery mode and that I need to restore my phone to factory settings, please help!

I have noticed a few others with the same problem the past couple of weeks. Many of them were able to resolve the issue by doing a low level reformat of the iPod's flash storage using the instructions in this article.

Why has my computer restored to factory settings?
After a bit of help if possible please - I'm new to the world of apple and was enjoying discovering my newly purchased product (been about a month now).
Last night I left the girlfriend with it - and she shut it down for the night. I turn it on this morning and it appears to have restored to it's factory settings - i.e. screen saver & system preferences are the default ones. The most frustrating thing is that I've lost all the music from iTunes - when I went into it I was asked all the user acceptance agreements etc. - it was as if I had not been in the application at all! All photos were gone from iPhoto, but they are in the photo library in my documents.
She maintains that she did nothing unusual (although this was her first time on it). Is there something she could have done to have caused this? Or is this is an issue with the mac?
Would GREATLY appreciate anyone's help out there.
On a seperate issue - my apple mouse cursor occasionally returns to a corner of the screen for no apparent reason. Is anything causing this?

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

I just got the iPhone 5s the Friday it came out. So today i decided to turn it off because some of the apps are not working. Now that i turned it off, it will not let me turn my phone back on until i plug it into iTunes. But i have and now its saying that until my iPhone is restored i can not plug it into iTunes. I already have . alot of stuff such as picture and contacts that i do not want to lose. What is going on and what can i do? This is honestly the most frusterating thing about IPHONEs. PLEASE HELP, I CAN'T HANDLE MUCH MORE. This should not be happening. I did NOT pay 300$ for this to happen in a less than a month of coming out.

Safari 6.1 freezes and then can't connect to the server when I refresh the page

I have a Mid 2010 13" Macbook. It is running the following..
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F45)
Hard Drive: 320GB
Recently Safari has been acting up. Everything will be working fine but then it will freeze and when I switch to another tab that tab will be white, as will all other tabs when I switch to them. When I refresh the page it force refreshes all other pages but on a lot of the pages (Facebook, Twitter, google, Gmail, mostly things with a password I think) it says that it can't make a secure connection to the server. I tried switching to Chrome and the same thing happened and then I switched to the Guest User and the same thing happened.
It has also been telling me that I have no more space on the startup disk but I'm not sure how that can be the case. I currently have 272GB free of a 319GB hard drive so I'm not sure what the problem is here! When I restart the mac everything is fine again but I have noticed it is taking longer for the mac to start up now. I have repaired disk permissions, I have reset Safari and cleared the history. I have downloaded OmniDiskSweeper and it has told me that the highest usage is in Spotify caches and my Gmail folder. So I deleted the Spotify caches and deleted all my emails. I then tried to delete the mail folder in Finder but when I do it just builds itself back up again.
When I used Disk Utility to verify the disk it found no issues.
I tried to shut down and restart it to run the hardware test but it doesn't boot up, it just takes a lot longer to reach the log in screen.
I don't know what else to try! Any help would be welcomed.Try this DNS server ..

10.9.2 keeps freezing and then today it crashed for no reason.
retina late 2013 running 10.9.2
machine has only been up and running for about 30 days but after 2 weeks I was having it freeze - unresponsive, no cursor - so I have had to power off. Occassionally it will let me move the mouse but nothing else - vpn time connected will show as frozen too. I do use Virtual Box running windows 7 in it and this is almost always up (4.3.8 r92456) and I connect via a thunderbolt adapter for ethernet. Any thoughts?

But if you look at the list under loaded kexts, the four at the top are all for virtual box, and I think they're listed in reverse order, so it's usually the ones at the top of the list that are causing the problem.
You can try a safe boot (restart, hold down shift until you see the Apple logo). This does some diagnostic testing and then starts up without third-party added on software, including third-party kexts like those from Virtual Box. If this eliminates the symptom, then you know the problem is with the third-party software. A safe boot doesn't fix anything, but it tells you where the problem is. Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
(strictly speaking a safe boot shouldn't fix anything, but sometimes running it does seem to fix things.)
I've been looking for a reference online (free would be good) for interpreting Mac crash and kernel panic logs and I haven't really found one yet.
Alternatives to using Windows:
I try to stick with Apple software in the first place. I don't even like using the Mac versions of Office.
there are two ways to run PC software on Macs without windows:
crossover Run Windows on Mac, easily and affordably - CodeWeavers
WineBottler | Run Windows-based Programs on a Mac
Crossover is more user-friendly, but Wine is free (or maybe donationware). Many PC apps will work with them, some won't.
I have only one PC app, which I use with Wine. It's an anatomy atlas that has never been available for Mac, unfortunately. -

Toggle the Mute switch a couple of times. The hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears, or 30 seconds have gone by. If you see nothing you have a hardware defect in the phone. If you seen anything at all on the display follow its instructions, which will probably be to connect to iTunes and restore the phone.

If the battery is completely dead it may take some time before there is enough power in the battery to display even the rudimentary battery dead icon. Leave it charge over night. Still dead in the morning, take it to an Apple Store.
