I have the latest mac desktop  op mountain lion, plugged in the canon pixma ip90v and get a message drawing too much power from usb and it won't work?

I cannot get the canon pixma ip90v to work with the computer.I get a message about drawing too much power from the usb.

You need to plug in the power cord that was included with the printer and then use it with USB, or use the power cord included with the printer and access it wirelessly from your iMac. I access my Canon MP560 wirelessly from my iMac, which works well.
