I have three ipod 4th gen and the latest version of itunes has killed them all
can anyone help?
I have had to open the ipods reformat on a pc and reassemle
then the pc will see the ipod and itunes offers to restore.
I pick restore then it says connect to a power source to complete the update
I left it for a day and it still has the connect to power socket picture on the ipod screen
these were all working ipods until version 11 itunes
any help greatly appreciated

You should still be able to manually manage the music on your iPhone within iTunes. Make sure that when your iPhone is plugged in, look in the Summary tab to see if “Manually manage music and videos” is enabled and you can even you turn off Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected. Take a look at the first article below to give more information on that. As far as your other questions about calling someone, I have provided two options for you. Try:

Correction: Thank you FoxFifth for the good information. I did find this information earlier before landing here in the support community. I have come to the end and I am uncertain about trying to reset my I-pod touch to the factory settings. I was satisfied with the older version of i-tunes. Can someone direct me how to downgrade i-tunes perhaps?

I purchased my daughter the new ipod. I downloaded the latest version of itunes. After syncing the ipod, all my songs appear grayed out. They have an exclamation point next to them. Even the ones I purchased from itunes. How do I get my songs back?
Usually, the exclamation mark tells you that the song was not where the program expected to find it. It may also mean that there was an error with the file itself.
If you click on the exclamation mark, it may give you a reason. You can also double click the file to make it play. If the file is not found, it will tell you. Just follow the prompts to look for the song again. It will ask you if you want to look for the other missing songs in the same folder. You can do it, but unfortunately, the last few updates have made the program blind to the songs that are there and you sometimes have to do the same process for each song.
If neither of these help, I would suggest starting from scratch and reinstalling iTunes. I have had to do that before. Do your best to back up the library and such first.
Sometimes a computer will rename a hard disk (Windows) and all the songs on that disk will be gone to iTunes because it will think it's looking in the right place. It can't recognize that the hard disk or partition has been renamed.
I know that this is a podcast, but the principle is the same. A dialogue box should pop up to tell you just what the problem is.

Apple TV and the latest version of iTunes 7.7 appears to have a bug...
I have an Apple TV which displayed all artists albums in the relevant album filter prior to the latest release of iTunes 7.7. Since this release although Itunes is still fine on my laptop it no longer displays all albums under the artists filter which means I can only locate an artists album by using the album filter (which takes a lot longer if you cant rememember the name of the album but only the artist). I was wondering if anyone elese has come across this issue and if its a known bug between Apple TV and the latest version of ITunes?
I have tried reinstalling ITunes on my Apple TV from scratch (by making the Apple TV revert to factory settings and then reinstalling ITunes) but still no joy... any ideas?I'm not saying you haven't looked, but for the avoidance of doubt have you actually checked that the 'Part of a compilation' checkbox under the 'info' tab of the 'get info' window isn't checked.
Under the new software, tunes that have this box checked are removed from the tv artist listings and placed under the tv compilations listing and referenced by album. Their listing under the tv albums list hasn't changed. -
iphone wont recognize in itunes. it's got the latest software update and the latest version of itunes on the computer. the phone works as normal but i want to restore it but can't because i can only get the the recovery mode stage and then it needs itunes???

The latest version of iTunes has completely changed the format and also why will it not allow me to burn a CD compatible with other devices?
I'm using iTunes 11.1.1 on a Mac mini running OS 10.7.5 and I burn CDs which play in this machine's external optical drive, my car, and the Pioneer audio CD players downstairs. I typically use Verbatim recordble CDs. After selecting the playlist I want to burn, I make sure that "Audio CD" is selected - this has always been the default for me. If this isn't working for you, I don't know what to say - but I'd suspect the drive you're using to burn CDs is getting wonky.

I was upgrading to the latest version of itunes, and my new ipad mini was connected to my computer at the same time, try to sync for the first time. The upgrade crashed part way through, and now itunes won't load and I get an error message saying MSVCR80.dll is missing. How do I do about reinstalling this file?
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Help with the movies and the latest version of itunes (vers 11)
So i need some help -
i have an imac desktop - i have an external hard drive hooked up to my time machine. all of my itunes media is on the that external HD - my issue is this -
- i buy a movie via itunes store - it downloads to my preference set up external hard drive. Once its downloaded - i am missing artwork for the movie, and when i go to play it, it reads Itunes does not support QT. In the previous itunes all i had to do is delete the new movie from my itunes libaray and copy/drag it back into the libary and that would fix all the problems - i had artwork and it would work via itunes.
- Since i migrated to to the new itunes 11, this little trick does not work - when i delete and drag over the file, it now shows up in the "home video" section - i have no artwork and cannot watch the movie. This is even the case with downloaded TV shows -

Apple menu > Software update. this will update all Apple software on your computer to the latest compatible version (which is not the same as the latest version).
If you want to go higher than Mac OS 10.5, you need to get the 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD.

I have the iphone 4s. Ive tried to update my phone & its stuck on the connect to itunes screen. Ive tried to even restore my phone then update & i still have a error for both of them. You don't need iTunes Match to have your music in all your devices. iTunes Match is for getting music that you've purchased elsewhere into the cloud. All you need to do is set up each of your devices to your iTunes Store account. You can then download things you've purchased by going to the Purchased section. See:

I have a ipod touch 4th gen and it wont chrage. When you plug it into the wall the lightniing bolt screen will apear but no matter how long you leave it, it will never turn on. Also it the lightning bolt screen wont even come on when you plug it into a computer (PC)..........PLease help its been like this for forever

Will not power on, or will not turn on unless connected to power
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Connect the iPod touch to an Apple USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if the display turns on and…
The home screen appears, the device should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen: . Then disconnect the device from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears even after the iPod touch has charged for at least 20 minutes: See the "iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or low-battery image appears , continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPod touch did not turn on, reset it while connected to an Apple USB power adapter. If the display turns on, go to step 4.If the display remains black, go to the next step.
Restore the device. Connect it to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes it and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPod touch. If the device doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring it, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPod touch resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring it did not solve the issue, seek service.
