I have to be missing something badly: How do I draw a circle?

I'm frustrated; please forgive it that comes through. I've spent an hour trying everything I can think of and searching here and I still don't see how to do this.
In all the other editors I've used, to do this you pick the circle tool, form the circle by clicking and dragging, and then you can select the circle and edit it's line weight, the line color, and size.
I'm using PSE9. I have an object (pic) on the background layer and there is an area on the object I want to circle to point out a feature. I don't want to blow it up in size or make some kind of inlay or overlay; I just need to circle it to direct attention to it just like you would circle something with a pencil or pen.
I have literally tried anything and everything I can find and think of to get a circle in place with no success. I can get a circle, but it's filled and blocks the area I'm trying to focus attention to. I'm sorry to appear so dumb over such a simple thing, but I am stumped.

Hmmm, thanks - it's not quite as straight forward as I'd hoped for. If I understand this correctly, everytime you go too far with the width, you have to either go back with the history or delete the layer.
Update:
I went to Window Undo history and it brought up a history list in the lower right hand window but I didn't see how this could undo a Stroke width???
Well actually you can click on Stroke and delete that history and it reverts back to the previous width. The trick to that is knowing which Stroke(s) you need to delete and keep.
Update 2:
I deleted a Stroke and both layer 1 and layer 2 disappeared. I had one circle on each layer. UNDO nor REDO would restore the action and the entire histroy listing went away. It seems once this happens, all work on layers is lost. Not only was that work lost, my lightening and darkening enhancements disappeared. This seems to be a very risky action.
This sounds awfully awkward for a simple task of putting a circle around something???
Well, you can use UNDO to go back also. Just seems a little work-aroundish, but I guess that's just the way it is.
The down side of any of this is that if a circle has been drawn say at 10 px and after some other editing one needs to change the Stroke to a lesser value, it appears that the layer will have to be deleted, a new layer created, and a new circle drawn. Am I on the right track here?

Missing something on how NULL's work with this sql... help....

I'm missing something here and - I'm hoping someone can help me out...
IF I have a SQL statement:
Select Distinct columna
From table1
where columnb = value1
and columna NOT IN ('a','b','c');
Where Value1 is on two rows.... and - columna has a NOT NULL value on one row and - null on the other row - I get a single row returned with the distinct single value from the table (excluding the NULL row).
However - if I write it like this - I start getting a NULL and the value (two rows returned)... and - I'm not sure why (though I'm certain I should be but - it's eluding me)....
Select Distinct columna
From table1
where columnb = value1
and columna NOT IN (select code_value
from code_table
where code_value = columna);
In the second query - there are no nulls in that code_table - it simply holds all the values that are to be excluded from the query.
I'm not sure why the top one returns a single row and the bottom returns the row with the NULL and the other with the value...
Any help is appreciated.

Ok - removed the join on the subselect "where code_value = columna" and - it no longer returns null.

How Do I Draw a Circle / Line Through An Image In Pages?

Hi guys,
I never do anything very involved in Pages but today ...
I have an image (jpeg file) and I would like to draw a circle around it and a line through it -- you know, turn it into one of those International "Don't Do This" signs.
Is there an easy way?

I'm using Pages '09 version 4.1

Insert a round Shape and give it a very thick border with equally thick line (also in Shapes) diagonally across the circle.
To add the image just drag it onto the shape and when you positioned it the way you like it, group the two.

Am I missing something? How do I burn an iMovie to DVD

I've spent hours importing and assembling clips in iMovie 08 and got it ready..but for the life of me, I cannot find out how to simply burn this to a DVD to go watch on television with my family. I don't want to export to youtube or my iPhone....Just a traditional DVD please...

If you want to use of your iMovie projects in iDVD, iWeb, or another Apple application, you need to render it and send it to the Media Browser. iMovie allows you to render one or more sizes of your a movie, depending on the size of the original media used in the project.
If the larger sizes are not available, the original project media isn’t large enough to render in that size. The largest media size used in the project determines the final movie sizes you can render.
Tiny: Always 176 by 144 pixels.
Mobile: Always 480 by 272 pixels.
Medium: Varies in size from 640 by 480 pixels (standard aspect ratio) to 640 by 360 pixels (widescreen), depending on the size of the media in your project.
Large: Always 960 by 540 pixels (widescreen). No large size is rendered if your original video isn’t high definition (HD).
The dots below each device in the table of sizes indicate which movie sizes are recommended for use with that device. Hovering the pointer over the “i” next to the movie dimensions displays the following information for the rendered movies:

How can one animate the drawing of a circle outline in Edge Animate from the first point to the complete circle? Would a better approach be to create a gif and import that into the Edge Animate project? Thank you for your time and expertise.

How do you make a circle clipping path in PhotoShop CS4?

All online help that I have found so far, shows me how to hand draw a complex shape. I just need a circle. I can do this in a few minutes in CorelDRAW and Illustrator.
You must be able to do it in PhotoShop. The end result is - I want it to work like a ship porthole. All you can see is what is behind the port window.

Can also just add the path in as a vector layer mask
Save the work path with a name once you have a saved path you can use the path palette's fly-out menu item "Clipping Path".

How can I draw two differenct plots at the same graph?

[I am beginner]
I have two different set of data which have differenct x-axis values. How can I draw two data at the same plot?
For example, one data set is

1 3.5
3 2.3
5 1.3
8 3.2
The other
1 2.3

4 2.5
If I use m_graph.plotXvsY two times. But it draw only one graph at the same time.

Do you really need the two sets of data on the same plot or is what you really care about is that the two sets of data are in the same graph? If it's the former, then there's not much that you can do since a plot can only contain one set of data. You can append to an existing set of data by calling the corresponding Chart (for example, ChartXvsY) method, but the result is that the plot's data will appear continuous.
If it's the latter, the way to do this is to add multiple plots to the graph and plot each set of data in a separate plot. For example, go to the Plots tab in the graph's property pages, add another plot, then here's some sample code that demonstrates how to plot the sets of data from your example above:

iCloud backup automatically saves your pictures, but you only get 5GB. What i'd reccomend is that you put those pics on flickr or Facebook, so you can access them anywhere, and i know at least facebook has auto upload as an option, so that any time you take a picture, it saves it to that.
Goals: Choose FB, Dropbox, Picasa, or Flickr, then enable auto upload.
In settings-icloud-storage and backup, deselect camera roll.
End result: Photos available anywhere, backed up safely, and your phone backs up.

Have I been mis sold or am I missing something?

I'm confused. I called bt for a quote for phone tv and broadband. I was quoted for the tv essential package. I can't remember conversation but obviously I confirmed sport channels were included as this justifies the price in my eyes from leaving sky.
Fast forward and I have it all up and running but no sport. Called the other day, spoke to technician who said he couldn't activate it so he transferred me to another department. Lady told me she had ordered it and I'd get it on my tv within 48 hours. 4 days later I've no sport so called again. Again I'm told he can't activate it so transferred me to same department.
Now she has just told me that sport is not included on the tv in my package as I don't have infinity, only on the app. She said I have not been mis sold as I wasn't told I could get it on the tv. But how am I to know that I could only have it on the app, why wouldn't the guy say to me on the phone that I'd only get it on the app or website?? On the bt main page where you choose your package, it states that bt sport on bt tv is available as a bolt on. When you then click on start my order, it states that this bolt on is free.
This has now been referred to another department so they can listen to the original sales call. I've also asked them to listen to the call 4 days ago when the other bt woman told me she had activated the sports on my tele. I am very confused and wondering have I missed something very simple here or are they advertising it badly?

How do I access the USB harddrive on E3000? Am I missing something?

I have my router setup fine to the internet, as well as the media server. I can't figure out how to access the hard drive from my laptop, however. The manual says put 192.168.1.1 in the address field of windows explorer, but it just gives me the "Setup" page for the router.
Am I missing something simple? I'm using Windows XP.

Click on Start -Go to Start>>Run/Start search and type "\\192.168.1.1" (Without quotes) and hit enter, and it should prompt you for the Username and Password, in the Username and Password use "admin" all in lower case and click Ok...Now you should be able to see your USB Drive... You need to right click on it and select "Map Network Drive" and check the box Enable and below click on Finish... This will Map the USB Drive on your computer... Once done you will be able to Send and Receive the data from your Computer to the USB Drive...

Hi,
I do not understand your problem. iTunes Match does not change the way iTunes looks. When match process is complete, the match screen tells you how much music you have in the cloud.
Across the top of screen you have options to select songs, albums, artist, composers etc.
Suggest that from main menu, select view>show sidebar.

I have just put my mates birthday in his contact along with his E mail, address and so on.
I then went into my calendar to find how it was displayed and nothing was there.
OK I thought I'll add it in calendar and only found a setting for meeting, memo and anniversary.
