So apparently my iPhone syne to another computer. To sync it with the one I use I have to erase and sync. Will that delete all my contacts???
You might if you select to sync contacts on the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync to an empty contact application on your computer (e.g., Outlook or Windows Contacts). As a safety precaution download the free app My Contacts Backup. This will back up your contacts as an attachment to an email which you send to yourself. If necessary, you can later open this email on your phone and tap the attachment to re-import your contacts to your phone. After doing this, follow this guide to preserve your other data and settings: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. If you aren't syncing your calendar or contacts with your computer, you can skip step 2; just be sure to deselect syncing calendars and contacts on the Info tap of your iTune sync settings prior to syncing.

So I got a new MBP and want to sync my iPhone 4s to it, however a pop up keeps coming up and warning me that I will delete something.

Thank you.Creating a wholly new AppleID and then using it to set up a new iTunes account will not delete the older AppleID's account history. It will remain, and remain tied to that AppleID.
The new AppleID and iTunes account will have no history until you start buying apps with it. ALL of your previous purchases made with the old AppleID remain, forever, with that AppleID. They cannot be transferred or merged to another AppleID.
Any photos you have are not tied to any AppleID in the first place so will remain on your computer in whatever program you transfer your photo's to. If you use photostream in iCloud, that is tied to the iCloud account, which in turn is tied to the AppleID used to create the account. It too cannot be closed, deleted or merged with another. Photostream only stores photos for 30 days though (it is intended merely to move photos amongst your associated or linked devices - it is not permanent storage), so they will eventually be deleted from that old account.
You could enable photostream on a new iCloud account if you wished to. -

This happens if you are Syncing to a Different iTunes Library on a Different Computer.

After restoring my iPhone 6 from my iPhone 5 backup via iCloud, I erased/reset my iPhone 5 for resale.
In order to raise the resale value of my iPhone 5, I want to perform a carrier unlock.
I processed a request to unlock my iPhone 5 with AT&T, and they approved my request:

2. Ensure the original SIM card that came with this device is inserted in your iPhone.

Considering I already erased my iPhone to factory settings, how do I complete the unlock process?

Thank you so much!ANSWER: All I needed to do was plug my iPhone into my computer and turn on iTunes.
As soon as the iPhone connected to iTunes, I received a UNLOCK CONFIRMATION message.
The AT&T Customer Service Rep also confirmed that the iPhone was unlocked from the AT&T account.

Why not? You should be syncing/importing them regularly, particlularly before any update. -
I was using my iPhone got a text opened in and all my contact names had gone went into my contact and it had deleted them all . I turned my phone on and off and 100 came back but not most off them what do I do ?
I suggest you immediately make a backup of your data. You don't know if or when the computer will show some symptoms from the drop. You may want to, for piece of mind, take the computer to an authorised service center for assessment. No one here can assess any internal damage you may have done.

Upgrading from Snow Leopard will keep everything untouched, just the system will be upgraded. Nevertheless, you MUST bbackup your files, especially when doing an upgrade, even if it theoretically does not destroy anything. You write: ‘I have a ton of files and documents saved on here.’ Eactly from this reason, you MUST backup these files somewhere else than the disk inside your mac. What will you do if this disk dies one good day?

How do I know my contacts have been backed-up before I update to the new software? itunes tells me I have to erase and restore, I'm afraid of loosing contacts.
you can sync your contacts and things under your own itunes and your wife can have her own... or both in one as long as you have it synced in the same computer they will be there
if you name ur phones its easier to tell which is which
my husband kids and i all have our names and then iphone next to it and it creates a different backup for each and then we update and we restore from there it lets you choose which backup you want...

My IPhone 4S wifi won't turn on. Wifi button is gray. I have tried restart and very briefly the wifi will work. Any ideas??
My 4s also grayed out the wifi setting a couple of weeks ago. I called technical support and the guy _insisted_that there is no known problem with phones with respect to IOS 6. He told me to reset the phone and restore and that would probably solve all my problems. Really, there is nothing wrong with the phone, he told me. I had tried just about everything else I had found on-line. The complete erase and restore did not work.
Then I went to the Genius Bar and they tried a few things (more resets) and they concluded wifi is not functioning but since it is out of warranty, they want $199 to replace it. $199 is not the cost of a new phone so obviously there is some concession here but not a complete acceptance of responsiblity. The Genius Bar told me that - in fact - that there is a known firmware problem with the phones and IOS6 that crops up randomly. Not with a lot of phones, just the unlucky few. If it is out of warranty, you have to pay. Fortunately, I had an extended warranty with my credit card so I can get reimbursed.
My next purchase is going to be an android tablet. I'm going to wean myself away from the Apple orchard. I want to expand my options for my next phone purchase. -

No, I accidently erased my pic's and my Music from my iPhone 5 when I hooked it up to my New iMac Air when I sync it. I thought when you sync it saves all your Data from my iPhone,,,,Wrong! It did the opposite, and saved what was on my iMac Air to my iPhone, which was Nothing, since it was Brand new. It won't delete the pic's from my iPad. Lucky for me, I downloaded them all back to my iPhone from iCloud.
