Many have posted this fix:
Go to System Preferences > Energy Saver > Computer Sleep ... set to anything greater than the 15 min. default setting.

I have big problems with mountain lion. you can not have a boot disk system I resulted in the need to re-download the os from scratch impiegandoci 8 hours, it is outrageous even with windows 95.
at least that the operator has confirmed to me that he called me. I also have problems with either the start of the mac with the power off. I can not understand if it crashes or is just very very slow.
Finally, I have a problem with the external hard disck. I often said to have been ejected incorrectly (not true) and I start to restore the startup recovery disk because disk utility is ineffective from the normal operating system .. is a shocking thing, but how you reduced. in four years it had never happened. seem to have windows or worse. Wake up.
I am an Italian, alas, and then I would like an answer to my language because my € are the same as German French or English. You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. I have a 15" MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion installed. I have partitioned the hard drive into two partitions. Is it possible to install Snow Leopard on the second partition? If so how do I do it?
If your MacBook Pro had Snow Leopard on it at one time then sure. (Early 2011 or earlier)
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
Obviously choose the second partition to install into. It has to be OS X Extended journaled formatted in Disk Utility (BootCamp software makes it a MSDOS/FAT32 formatted partition if you used that to partition with)
If it's a Early 2011 or Late 2011 that came with 10.7, it's possible, but it's not easy.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3264421?start=0&tstart=0
If you can't install Snow Leopard, there is a thread over at MacRumors how to run Snow Leopard in a virtual machine program under 10.7 or 10.8 -
I have just over 100gig of music in my iTunes library plus what ever else I add in the future. Because of the amount I had to save my music library on an external drive as my laptop did not have the memory to hold it all. I want to back up my iTunes library and save it on a different external drive, one I store all my back ups on. Is this possible? If so how can I do it?
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them. -
I purchased my Macbook Pro in November 2011 and just installed mountain lion but do not have the power nap option.. anyone know why?
It is for the MacBook with built in flash storage.

4. Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update. -

iTunes cannot open your itunes library ,
Your iTunes Library ist newer than you iTunes version do you want to download ?
but i have already the latest Version...
this happend after upgrading from Snow Leo to Mountain Lion
how can i resolve this?OK it goes like this:
It seems to be a bug. iTunes recognized that I have Version 10.6.1 and offers me a Download to 10.6.3
the app softwareupdate instad says im already up to date and there ist nothing to download.. ???
So i went to the Apple Homepage and looked after 10.6.3 over Safari.

I got a new Apple TV for Christmas, I read tha the OS X Mountain Lion supported AirPlay with the Apple TV, so I paid for the OS upgrade. After the upgrade I found out that AirPlay is not supported on iMac's older than mid 2011. This ***** because this was the only reasion I needed the upgrade, It should have been more clearly posted that the features of the new OS were only supported on specific machines!
Short of buying a new iMac is there a way to use Airport Mirroring from my iMac to the TV ?
What other Mountain Lion features don't work on a late 2009 iMac ?First, if you would have visted http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/ you would have seen there is a VERY LARGE and IN BOLD section that covers what functions of 10.8 are limited to what macs. Second "needed the upgrade"... spare me.
To your, "work around" question a lot of people report a third party app named "air parrot" as pretty reliable. You're welcome to try your luck with that. -
This is my macs configuration:

Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MM31.0081.B06
SMC Version (system): 1.35f0

What can / should I upgrade the system to...and how do I do it? Any advice greatly appreciated!
<Edited By Host>Many people are happy with OS X 10.5.8 but since you have an Intel Mac it is well worth upgrading to Snow Leopard now and then considering other options after that.
You can discover more about various Macs at: http://www.apple-history.com/
The OS numbers and names are:
OS X 10.4.x - Tiger
OS X 10.5.x - Leopard
OS X 10.6.x - Snow Leopard
OS X 10.7.x - Lion
OS X 10.8.x - Mountain Lion
You can buy Snow Leopard here:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
For details about upgrading this to Lion or Mountain Lion see:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256Z/A
In each case check that your Mac complies with the requirements.
If you are not in the US you should use the Change Country link at the bottom of the page. -
i tried to install the newest version of firefox but i couldn't. when i drag the firefox item to the application folder it asks me if i want to replace the previous version, and i click on REPLACE. After doing that i says that operation cannot be completed because i do not have some permissions to do that.
* Download a new copy of the Firefox program
* Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Firefox 3.6: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded

Installing FCS 3 (upgrade) on new MBP with Mountain Lion
Hi:
I just bought a new MBP with Mountain Lion installed. I have FCS3 upgrade, which I have now on my Mac Pro tower. I originally bought FCP version 1 back in 2000, so I've had it for quite some time.
When I insert the FCS install DVD into the MBP, the disc spins up and then spins down.... and nothing happens. Nothing opens, no dialogue box, not sign of any activity.
What am I missing here?Open the finder window and click on the DVD to open it up. Make sure you have the first DVD disk...
I have FCS 3 (FCP 7) running in ML with no problems. I did a clean install of ML first... and installed the FCS 3 upgrade after that... But, make sure you install QuickTime 7 before you install FCS 3... FCS 3 with turn QuickTime 7 into the Pro version.

I installed LiveType from FCS 2 too... -

AirPlay, iPod3, iOS 6.0.1: AirPlay keeps turning itself on. Seems to be since iOS update. I thought my internal speaker was broken! Nope. Just have to keep turning AirPlay off. I'm posting this both for others who might have this problem, and to ask how to keep airplay off.
The "fix" is to get the phone repaired. There's no magic solution for a broken phone.
Bring your phone ant $149 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement, or find a 3rd party repair shop near you.
