I have to login twice to access a Virtual Desktop in a pooled environment

I have multiple virtual desktop collections and I've noticed something strange about each collection.  If I try and connect to any of them, I double click on the shortcut and it asks for my username and password.  Then it makes it "estimating
connection quality" where the box just disappears and the connection is lost.
If I load the connection again (click the shortcut, and insert my username and password), I connect fine.  But if I wait awhile the same thing happens again.
Has anyone seen this before?  I'm not getting anything really out of the logs and I was hoping someone might have ideas/suggestions?

Hi Jacob,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Have you set any session time limit setting? It might happens that if you have set any session time limit, then you there might be disconnection due to time limit. You can check below GPO setting for session time limit.
Configure Timeout and Reconnection Settings for Remote Desktop Services Sessions
When you are connecting with RDP, click on Experience Tab and choose “Detect connection quality automatically” and check the result. Also would like you to suggest to update RDP version to RDP 8.1 for better feature and functionality.
Hope it helps!
Thanks.

  • Why do I have to login twice after sleep mode?

    Until recently I have been able to login one time with a password to get to my desktop. Now I have to login twice and I have no idea why. I am running Yosemite, whatever the newest version is. I'm not too tech savvy, but have checked every setting I can think of to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

    Just to be clear, it's not normal to have to log in twice when FV is on. If you want to try to solve that problem, ask for instructions.

  • Why do we have to login twice?

    When I go to the OTN site, it automatically recognizes me and logs me on. :)
    Then, when I go to forums on the OTN site, it immediately forgets who I am and I have to login. :( I'm on a slow internet connection which makes unnecessary page loads particularly annoying.
    What's the point of having a single sign-on if I have to use it multiple times. :)

    It's not the forums remembering who you are, it's the OTN website itself - I've noticed the same behaviour, and I've always put it down to the forums being on a separate authentication thingy-wotsit to the rest of the OTN site. Annoying as anything, but I don't think it'll change any time soon *{:-(

  • Accessing RDS virtual desktop pool

    I Have a server that is running RDS gateway, and RDS virtual hosting. I can attach to it with the same computer from multiple WAN networks except one, the one I can't connect with is behind a TMG 2010 server it gets stuck at the "initiating remote
    session" status. I'm thinking I am missing a published rule allowing the connection from the internal network.

    Hi Darren,
    Firstly, have you recieved any error messages or logs on the TMG server?
    In addition, accoding to your deployment, maybe you need to import the SSL certificate to the TMG server and create a Web listener and Web publishing rule on the TMG server. For more detailed information, please refer to the link below:

  • Login twice to Query Designer

    Hi
    We are facing an issue, where we have to login twice, when we start either the Query Designer or the Web Application Designer. When I start up, choose a system and logon, I get a pop up message saying "The standard transport system is active. SAP GUI connection is not activated for current connectoin to BI system. Do you want to reconnect to BI system and activate SAP GUI connection?" When I click "Yes", I have to logon again.
    Is there a way to get around this popup?
    Cheers,
    Jacob Vennervald

    Hi Jacob,
    Go To RSA1---> Transport connection view
    In the menu Edit -
    >Transport----->Switch-off Standard.
    Now try opening Query Designer.
    Hope it helps!

  • Do I have to login every time I access Apple discussions using Safari

    Is there a way to stay logged in on my Apple ID on the Apple website.
    Each time I launch Safari and go to Apple Discussions I have to manually login.
    I seem to remember in the past I didn't need to do this, maybe on older OS X, maybe I've changed a pref inadvertently.
    iMac 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   1.25 GB RAM

    Just to add to the information already provided:
    I seem to remember in the past I didn't need to do this, ...
    Yes, that was correct. In an older version of the Discussions forum you used to not have to login all the time, but the forum administrators changed things about 12-18 months ago.

  • Login twice in same apex app by same user not possible

    Hi,
    In itself it is possible to login twice by same user in same appl.
    But when using both apps on diff pages eachtime the user is prompted to login again.
    Why is that and why cant'w we use the app twice by same user.
    It is possible to use same app by same user twice
    Thanks in advance,
    Hugo

    I think it is probably due to your cookie and the session state. I cannot use IE or FF to access the same application twice with the same id, otherwise if I do different searches or change pages, the sesiion in the other window gets confused and starts showing session state varibale from the other window. This is with two different windows (not tabs) of IE or FF running.
    But, I can easily use IE, FF, and Chrome to access the same application with the same credentials, and everything will work as if I logged in with three different ids. I barely remember this 'problem' from 'the old days', and cookies had something to do with it. It "may" have been that the solution (in some cases, depending on what you and the app are doing), was during the authenication process that every app creates and uses a cookie with the same name.
    Hope this helps some,

  • Possible to have two login configs in same web app?

    Sorry for not having tried this first, my server and webapp are in a state
    of flux at this moment, but I wanted to see what the consensus is out there,
    not just whether I can or cannot make something work quickly.
    If I have two types of things that might be called in my Web App (WAR) in
    different ways (eg, browser accessing via HTTP by users that want to login
    via pretty forms, and SOAP clients that may access functionality through the
    same servlets (but with alternate Servlet Path Info after the servlet name
    in the URL)), is there ANY way I can have multiple login configs, each tied
    to a different security constraint within that web app?
    In other words, with a servlet of /frazzleblitz and security constraints
    like:
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Foo</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/frazzleblitz/doFooBar</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>FoobarBrowserUsers</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    and the SOAP constraint (for all users of incoming SOAP requests):
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Foo</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/frazzleblitz/doFooBar</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>FoobarBrowserUsers</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    where my frazzleblitz controller knows whether the incoming request is
    browser vs SOAP based by the path info after the servlet name
    Can I associate the first security constraint with a FORM based login
    config, and the second security constraint with a BASIC AUTH login config
    since I could in theory require SOAP clients to send in credentials in a
    HTTP BasicAuth header, but I can't expect a SOAP client to be HTTP
    Redirected to a login form and then to enter the right credentials into a
    user type form and then be redirected back to an app...
    Seems to me the J2EE Security spec is really lacking in the area of
    programmatic authentication (allowing my SOAP code to get credentials out of
    the request envelope and call an API to login myself). Yeah, WebLogic has
    the ServletAuthentication weak() API, but these apps need to be J2EE
    compliant and work across J2EE servers... Anybody know of any improvements
    coming in the J2EE security space to address such functionality needs?
    Thanks in advance
    Mike

    Sorry, hit send accidentally before finishing the second security
    constraint - I've fixed it up below to reflect what I meant...

  • Can we have two login screens for a particular application?

    I have an application which is sso enabled.
    Can i have another login screen, which doesnt authenticate SSO?

    I a nutshell, Yes you can have multiple login pages for one application. All you will need to do is specify which one you want to go to when you create the link to the application.
    E.g If you have an application number of 54321 and within this application you have 2 login pages number 101 and 111. You will need to use the following urls to access each one:
    http://server_name:port/pls/htmldb/f?p=54321:101
    http://server_name:port/pls/htmldb/f?p=54321:111
    I do not know about how SSO works with ApEx as I have never used it. But you can definitly have 2 separate login pages.
    Hope this helps,

  • J_security_check error 404 login twice.

    Hi, i encountered a problem with authentication based on form and containter. I have a login.xhtml (later mapped to login.jsf) page that contains:
    <form action="j_security_check" method="post">
                            <div style="clear: both">
                                User:
                                <input type="text" name="j_username" size="25" class="textfield" tabindex="1"></input>
                                <input type="reset" value="Reset" class="button" tabindex="4"></input>
                            </div>
                            <div style="clear: both">
                                Password:
                                <input type="password" size="25" name="j_password" class="textfield" tabindex="2"></input>
                                <input type="submit" value="Submit" class="button" tabindex="3"></input>
                            </div>
                        </form>The authorisation is based on LDAP. The problem is when i open this login page in two separate tabs in the same browser. I log in to restricted page in the first tab, everything is ok. But when i try to log in in the second tab while still being logged in the first tab, i get error 404 service not available. Any ideas how to deal with such situation?

    what do you get when you enter in an invalid username/password - your logonError.jsp? page
    How do you access this page - is your destination page available, and working?
    I take it you are trying to access /RnsttHome.jsp
    Check the spelling of your URL - maybe try accessing another file under securlty to see if that one works?
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    -- It doesn't really matter whether I enter a correct username/password or an invalid one, cause I get the 404 Error. I am not re-directed to the logonError.jsp at all. I can only see that the browser is looking for J_security_check...at least that's what is written on the url when I get the 404 error.
    e.g.
    http://localhost/myapplication/j_security_check
    -- The destination page is RnsttHone.jsp and it is working fine.I don't think that this is the problem.
    -- I have tried accessing other files as well.That's not the problem.They all have the same problem with j_security_check...

    Since I migrated my files from one Mac to another and am now running Yosemite, Photoshop Elements 9 (adequate for what I do) is not showing the previous functionality on some of the tools. I have uninstalled/reinstalled twice to no avail.  Is there a fix? Also, when I tried to update, it comes up with this error.

    I have a similar problem. I found out that my macbook air created a new USER with my former's computer user name. You can check that by going into System Preferences -> User & Groups, and see if a "Other user" has been created. You have to login under this new USER to find your transferred contacts in the address book.
    My problem is that I do not know how to merge the 2 USER logins or transfer the data from the new USER created into the existing one.

    How do I fix Mountain Lion issue after login where Keychain Access attempts to open, hanging up with "application not responding" message?

    You could try booting into Safe Mode to see if that will help. And "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility.
    Have you got Keychain set to open on Login or is it attempting to open on it's own.

  • Multiple logins or user access.

    I have games and educational apps for my daughter.  I'd like to let her play on it without worrying that she will get into other apps or my email or on the web.  Is there a way to have different logins? Or is there a way to only provide access to those apps I want to be available for her?

    There is only one login.  Yu can prevent her from using the email app by turning off the account in Settings>Mail...... and then setting a Restriction to prevent changing mail settings. You can also do some other things by Restrictions.  See:
