I have to run DiskUtility about daily to restore some speed to my system. What can I do to end this problem?
My system slows down in very little time so I run Disk Utility and repair permissions at least daily. What is going wrong and what can I do about it?

Thanks for giving me something to look for. For reasons mysterious to me my system has not slowed down since Saturday. That reading was in the morning with Chrome, Entourage and Word running but shortly after I logged in. The system had been on overnight but not in use. The next time it slows down I will check Activity Monitor and look for Page outs vs Page ins and let you know. Thanks so much for your help. Registry cleaners have very little good use, and usually end up damaging more computers than they fix. I'd recommend uninstalling the software.
That being said, Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works find in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].

Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. you can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections. -
does anyone have a problem with the new page software? I am currrently running into the same problem with the old pages software re-appearing and any document that I had used with the new update, will not open. The system requires me to attempt to download a new version of page, when the newiest version has aleady been download and has been in operation.
What can I do to fix this problem? I desire to use the new version at all times.

JamesYou just have to be particular with which Pages version you are opening the document. use Right click on the document and choose the right version of Pages.

i have a classic that seems to be stuck in restore mode, the screen says "do not disconnect'' and i can't restore using itunes. i have tried resetting it and still no good, what can i do to fix this problem ?

I've also just run into an issue where I couldn't restore an iPod with a corrupt file system, and the "super fix" in that linked article wasn't working for me. I've run across a potentially useful workaround.
iPod Classic went on the fritz today just after syncing. Couldn't restore via iTunes, kept getting 1439 errors, Windows wouldn't format as FAT32, claimed the "Volume is too big for FAT32". Finally tracked down EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition (Free) and formatted as FAT32 with 128k clusters. The iPod is filling back up again. Might be worth a shot here...

My airport turns off by itself and I have to restart the computer for it to work again and it only turns off again. I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8. What can I do to solve this problem?
Usually the HDD is the frist place to look. Use the original install disk and start up the MBP with the C key down. Go through the installation process until you see on the display a menu bar on top.
Click on UTILITIES.
From the drop down menu select Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
What are the results?

My iPhone 5 will only connect and keep connected if I am about 5feet away from my router. It also will not pick up other wifi sources and will drop Bluetooth. What can I do to solve this problem?

If a second-hand iOS device has been 'Activation locked' then only the previous owner - effectively the shop in this case - can unlock it, either by providing you with the account ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices (as he should have done before selling it) - please see http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4515
If you are unable to contact them to do this then I'm afraid you will not be able to use the device - there is no other way of unlocking it at all. Apple cannot unlock it for you. -
Every time that I try to download my music from I tunes an error message comes up it says, ( err = 450) Make sure that your network connetion is active and try again. What can I do to fix this problem, I have tried everthing that I-tunes has told me but with no luck. Thanks
Try disabling your parental controls. Does that help with the 450?

I have an iPod Touch version iOS 4.2.1, 8 G capacity, and whenever iTunes tries to sync my iPod, I get an error message saying "Mobile Backup has encountered a problem and needs to close", and the sync fails. As note already on the iBA forum [ AppleID for ibooks publishing ], you need two IDs. You can't use your developer ID.
If you already signed up for books with that ID, you need to talk to Apple to straighten things out. -

This issue is with Netflix upgrade. I spoke to Netflix and here is the solution. Remove Netflix app from Ipad and reload the app version 5.0.1. This updated version will correct the problem.
