I have to take my computer into a service center

From what the tech person on the phone said "it doesn't look to good for your computer",,,If i bring it to the center today, what happens if the person says the exact same thing....what happens then? I have had my computer for over a year, i am on the protection plan....will i have to buy a new computer?

OK...update took it to the service center...it was a software issue, everything on my time machine was AWESOME...so they reinstalled a fresh copy of leopard and sent me on my way...I came home and reinstalled everything on my time machine. WHEW - we are back up and running and everything came back.
I swear - that time machine just paid for itself and is not consider PRICELESS.. I think everyone should have one.

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

Select SOURCES | IMPORT FROM FILE from the menu. Select file1.dat from the source file directory path.The file should be places in infa_shared --> SrcFiles Set the following options in the Flat File Wizard: Select Fixed Width and check the Import field names from first line box. If you put a password, it should keep most nosy people off your PC. Or, you can always simply back up your current profile on like a thumb drive, etc. Then delete your current one. when you get the PC back, just put your old profile back. You can read [[Backing up your information]] for instructions on how to do this.

it's fine if you leave it on.......i keep mine turned on while travelling with my macbook in my laptop bag and have had no issues.
if however, you plan on running around or jogging - it's better to turn it off.
but leaving it on will not hurt it.

You will need an external drive that is formatted as MAC OS EXTENDED (journaled).
Move the Project, Events, and any photos and music to the external drive by following the instructions in this post.

You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone. This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab. Whatever is selected will be on your iphone. Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync.

I have read the the advice you gave, and I had already tried that. It did not help.
When I tried to download an album with nine songs, (I have paid for the complete album), two songs were missing. One of them has showed up/disappeared a couple of times, but with a cloud/arrow-symbol next to it, what I thought to be a symbol for downloading from the cloud. When I click it, it starts a downloading process, and then I am told it cannot be done, "please try again later". The other song is nowhere to be seen. The song with the cloud/arrow-symbol, I bought 3 times, once with the album, twice just the song. That didn't change matters. iTunes tells me I have downoladed all songs I have purchased.
I do not really understand why you do not understand what I am writing, I only describe what happens when I use iTunes.
If a person want to use iCloud, one needs an iPhone, iPad or an iPod Touch. That information is not given until you have downloaded and installed the iCloud program. That is why I have it on my computer, but cannot use it. To set up an iClod account, you have to connect one of the above mentioned devices. I don't have one, so I cannot do it.
If you want the (13013) problem explained, I suggest you google it. I am not the only one to have that problem.

What does the family WiFi have to do with iCloud? iCloud is on Apple's servers.
If it is a shared computer what you can do is create a new user ID on the computer. Log in with the new ID. This will give you a "clean" iTunes library that you can use for backing up the the old phone and syncing the new phone.

You can't view your photos in the iPhoto library in Time Machine vis the Finder. You must enter Time Machine, go back in time to the library you want to restore and restore it?
