I have to take out the battery for Apple TV to work

I have the newest version of the apple TV.
Recently I have had to remove the battery from the remote and reinstall it for the remote to start working.  Also at times it seems like has low battery life....but I have tried 2 new batteries and have gotten the same results.  Do I need a new remote?  How long is the warranty?

Is this on Snow Leopard ?
what exactly happens if you attempt to shutdown or restart... does a message appear ?
If you start the mac in Safe mode - does the same thing happen ?
what happens when you try force quit ?

  • Safari not quitting and I have to take out the battery on Macbook just to close down

    Hi All,
I am in the process of trying to work out what's going on here and think all of you might be able to help to get to the solution quicker.  Safari is just refusing to quit even when I force quit and close windows etc.  Just to restart or shut down I need to take out my battery.  This is clearly a rubbish solution to the problem.  Do I need to totally delete all files and dbs associated with Safari or is there a quicker fix that will allow me to keep my bookmarks etc.  Never had problems before and not installed any new software or even synced iPhone recently so it's a massive puzzle.
    Cheers guys.

  • Take out the battery when the phone freezes. Cause...

    Hi all.
I have a question. Lets tell that my/a phone freezed. If i/someone take out the battery(without turn off the phone, because it can't turn off) , cause any problem to phone? I have done it untill now, about 5-6 times (i have the N82, about 7 months)
If you want to thank someone, just click on the blue star at the bottom of their post

I suspect it does cause problems but I also do the same thing if it hangs and doesn't go off. I ususally give it about 2 minutes to reboot, if it doesn't after the two minutes I take the battery out.
your only other alternative is to wait unjtill the battery dies but that scares me because when my phone freezes the backlight get's VERY BRIGHT and I don't know what other damage that could be causing so I'll live with taking the battery out

  • Tecra A7: Is it ok to take out the battery and store it outside the notebook?

I took out the battery from my wife's Tecra A7 so that it does not charge and discharge itself unnecessarily (notebook works exclusively on AC).
However, I've read on the Internet that taking the battery out can sometimes be dangerous for its electronics: namely, the electronics stops working properly and the battery is seen, upon placing it back in the notebook, as "dead", although it isn't really so.
Can it happen with my Toshiba battery, too?

I have done the same with my older Satellite P20. I dont see any problem there. But it is recommended to charge the battery full and run the notebook on battery power supply only from time to time. Charging battery to maximum and empty it out sometimes. it is good for every rechargeable battery.
I dont know where you have found those info but believe me you can remove the battery and notebook can run on AC power supply only.

  • I want to store my ibook.  Can I take out the battery and simply not use it for months?

Just bought a new imac and want to mothball the laptop.  Can I simply remove the battery and not use it?
Do I have to recharge the battery every few months?
Can't see the point in leaving it plugged in as its not being used, yet in case I need it as a back up would like to keep it.
    Any comments on proper procedure?
    thanks.

    From Apple:
    Storing Your MacBook Pro
If you are going to store your MacBook Pro for an extended period of time, keep it in a cool location (ideally, 22° C or about 71° F) and do one of the following to preserve your MacBook Pro battery life:
Discharge the battery 50 percent before storing your MacBook Pro.
When storing your computer for longer than five months, discharge the battery to approximately 50 percent and then remove it from the MacBook Pro. If you are storing your computer for an extended period, recharge your battery to 50 percent every six months or so.

    Am waitting your answer........

Assuming that you don't know your current answer(s), then from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665 :
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID password, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password, contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
If you can’t reset them via the above instructions (you won't be able to add a rescue email address until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in the country where you and your iTunes account are to get the questions reset (these are user-to-user forums).

  • Currently using Lightroom 5 as a standalone on a mac and two windows machines one desktop one laptop. with CC can i still use all the machines or do i have to take out an individual license for each?

with CC can i still use all the machines or do i have to take out an individual license for each?

Your LR5 license allows for activated installations on two machines.  Of those two machine, only one can be using the licensed software at a given time.  The same applies with CC, except with CC you won't be able to sneak in the third machine.  What you can do though with CC is have it installed on all three and sign in and out of the different machines as needed.
If you intend to be using all three machines at the same time then you do need three separate licenses/subscriptions to be in compliance with the license agreement.

Guys, i am actually trying using a solution provided by the article shared by dominic23,
It says "Another option is to get an ionizer to help the atmosphere in the workplace be more conductive and pull charges away from contact surfaces, including yourself."
So in my home, we have such device that could clean the air using ion, and i am using it in my room...
Result: BANG!!! The electric shock on my macbook has gone!! I don't really care about physics but somehow it works! You guys should give it a try.
    Thanks again dominic23

  • The battery for my macbook pro 13 says "service battery".  Now I want to get a replacement but the reviews for it are horrible! Does anybody have any suggestions?

The battery for my macbook pro 13 says "service battery".  Now I want to get a replacement but the reviews for it are horrible! Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to spend 130 dollars on something I'm going to have to replace in less than a year (which is what normally I been reading)  I do design work and I take my mac everywhere.  Having to always look for a plug or having to be constantly plugged in doesn't sound ideal to me.  Please help me. what should I do???

Why does it matter if it a scam????? I'll let you figure that out by yourself.  If I'm going to replace it, why should I be contempt with a battery that I have to replace within months (as stated by some people in the comments). The issue here is not if I should or not replace it OBVIOUSLY I'm going to have to before it starts going crazy.  The underlying issue is why is the replacement battery for a lack of better words " a bit crap."  It comes with a 3 month guarantee?? Is that a joke?!??!?! Some people complained it malfunction after only 8- 9 months? I'm sorry but as an Apple fan I think it's absolutely rubbish. I know there is no magic cure I'm just hoping someone shines the light on how crappy this replacement is.

my macbook pro running lion will not boot . it stays on the grey page with the cog spinning. I have tried all methods of booting to no avail. I have removed the bottom and taken out the battery and the ram . will this affect my applecare warranty. I had to try myself as I'm overseas for two months and nowhere near any sort of help .

there was a recent software update that seemed to screw HDV up.  Do some searching here over the last month or 2 and you'll find a bunch of posts and some possible solutions.
Worst case scenario, do as Shane suggests.  But might I suggest you take a look at the user tips section of the forum.  there are some great tips on how to prevent these sorts of problems by cloning your startup drive, etc.
