I have trashed some important Master Files by mistake.....Please help
I have a related problem.
I have accidentally wiped some of the Master Files from my Hard-drive.
Aperture , of course started saying " master not found ".
I thought I had backed up the Masters in my vault so I restored the Aperture Library from the said vault and looked for the original files. They were not to be found.
I now have numerous thumbnails with a large question mark instead of a picture and a worse problem than before.
Is there anyway , bearing in mind I think the masters have been trashed that I can recover from this disaster ?
Can I recreate a master from the versions that I have in Aperture ?
If you didn't have previews generated for those images, they are gone.
This is why I don't generally use referenced masters. It's all to easily to accidentally trash the wrong directory or file, having them stored in the Aperture library provides some level of protection from my own mistakes.
If people do use referenced masters, it's really important to have an absolutely perfect and multiply redundant backup system in place. RAID is not enough, it's not a backup for things like deleting images.
Your best hope now might be to look for some kind of undelete utility and hope that nothing has overwritten those files on the hard drive. Or as others have said, to look for the trash if you didn't empty it recently.

Importing JPEG files from powerpoint - Please help I'm on a deadline!
I've been importing slides from powerpoint (saved as JPEG files) into imovie (there are 7 in all). I've done this without a problem. I decided I wanted to change some of the words so I went into my original powerpoint file, did my changes, and saved the slides as JPEG files as usual. For some reason now when I import each of the slides they're huge so the words are cut off. I've been trying to reduce the font size but now it's getting hard to read! Does anyone have any ideas as to why I'm suddenly having problems and how I can fix this? I need to ship this out today by 5pm EST.

Would you know why it's now importing these files in such a way that I"m not able to change the length of the slide? (it's importing it for 2 seconds almost as if it's a movie file - it has a little play button on the top which looks different from my other files) -
DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3 crashes when import m2v files...please help me
All of a sudden, DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3. doesn't like any of my m2v files created by Compressor 2.0.1
these are the same m2v files I imported and burned into DVDs a couple months ago...and any new m2v files I create with Compressor...cause DVD Studio Pro to crash
DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3 will import old m2v files that I created a couple years ago using DVD Studio Pro 2 - and any new audio files created with Compressor and quicktime files from Final Cut Pro 5.

Hi, I have problem with importing MOV files from SJCAM 4000. MOV files are in supported formats for Adobe Premiere Elements 11. But if I'm importing MOV file, only audio part is imported, video part is not imported. How can I solve this problem?

From looking at the specifications of your camera (SJCam 4000), we know already what video compression your camera is using. It is H.264.
A H.264.mov file should be supported by Premiere Elements 11. On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer? And, are you running QuickTime and Premiere Elements 11 from a
User Account with administrative privileges? Please go to Premiere Elements 11 Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime to confirm that you find
presets there for the QuickTime choice there.
What are the properties of these H.264.mov files - is it 1080p30 (1920 x 1080p30) or something else? Do you know if this camera is recording with a variable or
a constant frame rate?
Please review and consider and then we will decide what next.

Have AE7; Problem importing prproj file into pc; get placeholder instead. What do I need to do to open up the video files here. They are .mov in quicktime.
Please be more specific. What Premiere project? What version of Premiere? Which operating system? What CoDecs do the QT fiels use? Are all the video files in the correct folders inside the Premiere project structure? Your description sounds like you are attempting to open a Mac based project on a PC and your video files are either in the wrong location or use a Mac-specific CoDec, hence they cannot be read on a PC.

ITunes could not be installed because some of the files are missing, please
I just bought an Iphone and when I went to install the latest version of itunes i get the message "iTunes could not be installed because some of the files are missing, please reistall iTunes" during the installation. I have tried every recommended solution I could find on the apple website. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem??

How do I delete movies from iTunes library? I have moved them to the iCloud and now only seem to have the option to hide the icon in iCloud. I am sure I chose poorly at the 'keep file' window. Please help. My Brain hurts… 18 plus movies need to go…. Thank you.
Instead of removing the music from the cloud or the iTunes library why not shuffle your music using a Smart Playlist which excludes the holiday music, or tracks that are not checked. For example, use this very simple Smart Playlist:

I have the new iPhone 4s. I'm using cloud. I try to sync my playlists to my phone an it either erases them completely or keeps saying it cannot move all music files over? Please help. Also my purchased ringtones will not sync up as well.
iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

Not sure I understand how Migration Assistant is doing anything. I thought MA was for connecting your computer to another computer or volume and transferring files. I'm just not sure how you're using it. Like I said earlier, everything you do on your Mac overwrites more of what data may have been recoverable if there even was any. Not to kick you when you're down but this is exactly he kind of a situation where a time machine or other back up would have saved you a lot of heartache. I'm sorry but I don't think I can be of any help :-(

I just wanted to back up my photos since I haven't done so since October 5th. I plugged in my iPhone and let Image Capture transfer the selected photos to the designated folder. Accidently I hit 'Import All but that's not the biggest problem. Apparently I had "Delete all after transfer" on AND 427 photos apparently "failed to transfer" as it said. I didn't think it was such a big problem, but then I noticed : what the ****.The delete all option was ON and now ALL my photos are gone, from the iPhone and NOT on the computer. Except a list of some old pictures I already have three backups and from the new ones between Oct 5 and this day I have a random selection >><!!!
So please help me! How do I get my pictures back? iPhone Data recovery? Please please help. There are so many nice memories of this month and I'm so ****** that this just happened!If you have iCloud backup turned on or if you have recently backed up via iTunes you could restore the phone from either of those sources. Camera Roll photos are included in those backups. Be aware that doing a restore will replace the contents of the phone with the contents of the backup so you would lose anything new on the phone since the last backup. im having trouble connecting my macbookpro to the tv. im using a mini display port to hdmi adapter, when i switch tv/video to hdmi on the tv nothing pops up, and i dont have the arrangement tap on the display settings, please help!
I've found that the order of operations, so-to-speak, can be important when hooking up mini display port to HDMI. I have the most success with the following operations in this order:
1) Plug HDMI cable into mini displayport adapter (the cable should not be plugged into either the TV or the computer at this point)
2) Plug the mini displayport end of your new super-cable to the computer.
3) Plug the HDMI end into your TV.
4) Switch inputs on your TV to the proper input.
5) If still nothing on the TV, try a different HDMI port on your TV.

I have found that the exclamation point is back next to several of my songs. I have not moved any files, or deleted any files. I need help so that I can figure this out and have my music back on my iPhone. I can play it on my Mac just fine, and it says it is all on my phone, but I see this ! Next to most of the songs and I have about 8 GB less than before. Someone please help me solve this issue, something that I thought Apple would have been rid of by now. Again, please help me.
Okay, I followed the step from another support community:
1. Open Finder
2. From the side bar, click the home folder
3. Go to MUSIC>iTUNES>iTUNES MEDIA
4. Open the corresponding folder for the folder type you're looking for. The contents of the folder will be listed in alphabetical order. Depending on the folder, the files will be sorted by author, artist, or title.
Now, I found the files, and I can play my music through this and even in my iTunes library, where the info on each song is still available. Why can't this information transfer to my iPhone?
