I have trawled the  internet, no luck.

Recently I "inherited" an iPhone 2g from a good friend.
It does have the latest OS installed. The problem that occurs very frequently is with Safari. When visiting the App store, the moment I find the link to download an App, nine times out of ten, Safari pops up with the notice, Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid, above this is a notice from the os telling me that there  is no fault.. This doesn't happen too often with external links.
Yes, I have cleared the cookies and checked the restrictions ad nausium.
OOF.

Sadly your suggestion, while it may prove to be handy, doesn't quite solve my problem. Perhaps I can explain the problem more thoroughly.
I have a table of people and a table of awards and I suspect I will need an intersection table to relate person_ID, award_ID and award_date. Only a subset of the people in the table are elligible for any particular award. What I am trying to achieve is, for any one particular award, to display a tabular form showing a list of all
elligible people whether or not they have already been granted that award such that if they have been granted the award it will display the award date and if they haven't been granted the award the date field will be blank.
Then the user can record any new award dates and submit. This will update the records in the intersection table. The trick then becomes one of determining which records have been edited and have to be updated and which ones are left unchanged and not updated and which ones are new and need inserting.
Hope this makes sense

Whenever I go to iTunes with my iPod 5th generation 32 gb iPod Touch, running iOS 8.0.2, It tells me that the "Other" category is using up 14.59 gb of data. I have no clue why it says this and I have searched the internet for fixes and none worked. I have tried on a windows and a mac and noticed no change. I have tried restoring to a backup but that didn't help. I haven't had time to do a full restore but I will try if the problem persists.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.
What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It
What is "Other" and What Can I Do About It?
Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

  • HT1386 I am unable to synch photo albums from ipad 3 to itunes on my windows pc. In addition to camera roll and ipod cache albums, i have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!

    Dear Community members,
I am unable to synch photo albums from iPad 3 to iTunes on my Windows 7 pc.
In addition to Camera roll and iPod cache default albums, I have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. Eg -  Family pix in a folder, Office pix in another, Plant pixs in another, House architecture pix in another.......all also exist in the camera roll.
I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!
I have ios5 on Ipad 3 and the latest Itunes on Windows PC.
As a precaution, I have used the windows "add pictures from...." to keep a copy in a separate folder in the windows desktop, but again it has all the pics mixed up together and not sorted as per the various albums in the ipad!
How to replicate the albums in the windows PC???
    Regards
    Sohal NS

Sync the photos back to the iPad using iTunes. You have to place the photos into a folder from which you sync photos. All photos that you want to sync to the device must be included in the main photos folder and selected to sync each time that you sync.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Click on the Sync Photos From heading in order to select it.
Select the photos folder that you want to sync from.
Select all of the albums or photos within the folder that you want to sync.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

  • I am having the B200 error which is a major problem. I have followed the directions without luck.

B200 error. What must I do to fix the problem? I have removed the ink and printer head and unplugged for 10 min.  The MP620B still fails to work.

    Hi CW63,
If you have already tried reseating the print head without success, the printer would require service.  I recommend using the Contact Us link to get in touch with our support staff who can provide available service options.

  • How can I get on the internet with my newly purchased used G5 Power Mac if my ethernet port failed?

We just bought our son a used G5 Power Mac, but when we got it home and tried to hook it up to the internet, no luck. We changed ethernet calbes, tried plugging directly into wall cable (by-passing router), even tried to do manual config, but no luck. I took it to the Genius Bar today and they said the ethernet plug was broken, and they did not have anything for a "vintage" machine like this.
The Genius Bar tech told me to buy a USB Network Adaptor, however no one (Best Buy, Radio Shack, even searched the internet) seems to have them for Mac. What can I do to get this puppy connected to the internet and how much would it cost? Did we get screwed?

How can I get the scroll to work?

    Thanks for replying!
It's something else to try! I am quite savy, just frustrated over what should be a simple update!!!!!
I did however try and install iTunes 10.7 on a different computer, which is clean as I ran anitvirus on it this morning, prior to downloading itunessetup.exe and it did the same thing on there too.
Having spent nearly two days trawling the internet for help I am beginning to wonder if it is not a problem with 10.7 itself? Seems like quite a lot of people have the same issues as me....and it can't be the same thing on everyone's computer!
I will try the antivirus on my laptop and go from there!!!
    Thanks again for your answer.

  • How do I Set up a LAN with no access to the Internet?

I have a Solaris 10 (08/07) [No longer can acess the internet]
full install on one system, and Solaris 10 Developer Edition (09/07) on another system. Each has been auto-configured upon installation, and have reached the Internet, and registered at Sun Microsystems, from behind a router and cable modem.
I want to create a Local Area Network, using a 4 port Netgear Ethernet Hub, model EN104tp, Each of the Solaris 10 systems, a Windows XP Pro system, and a Windows Media Edition LapTop. +(Which I want to have additional admin control, and access to the Server, from!)+
    My problem is this!
    1) Do I have to change any files to eliminate, the access to the internet from the two Solaris machines via router and cable modem? If so which, and, how do I? +(I intend for the LAN to be isolated from the internet)+
    2) What are the step by step, to set up a LAN?
I can't seem to find that info anywhere. Maybe I am looking in all the wrong places...
I appreciate and Thank You in advance for any help...

The only difference between LAN and Internet is the size.
Depends on how you define LAN -- it may be multiple subnets glued with routers or just one big or small subnet with bridges, switches and/or hubs or simply a crossed UTP-cable..
    If you don't have routers then you won't need a /etc/defaultrouter (rm -f /etc/defaultrouter; /usr/sbin/route -fn)
    You should use RFC-1918 addresses; i.e. chunks with a suitable mask of your choice as parts or whole of 10./8 (10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255), 172.16/12 (172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255) and/or 192.168/16 (192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255). Example 10.0.0.0/255.255.255.0 for a (256-2=)254-node subnet; 10.20.30.40/255.255.255.252 would suite a crossed-cable subnet perfectly.
A DHCP-server would be nice for PC's. Solaris can do that (/usr/sadm/admin/bin/dhcpmgr).

  • My airport will not connect to the Internet

I am trying to set up my airport express. I have set the Internet connection to Ethernet to reflect my satellite modem and dhcp. The airport express connects to devices in my home but not to the modem. I have tried to adjust the settings but it refuses to connect to the Internet. • I got an iCloud helper message on my iPhone and now I can't use the internet

    Hi all,
I received a message on my computer from iCloud helper? Saying I had a virus and it lists everything that is at risk, and then says to call a number. I'm maybe not the most brilliant, and I called. I allowed remote access to my computer and she wanted to charge me 99.95 to clean my mac. I said no. I then deleted and cleared my download folder, all website data and restarted my computer. I updated the software and it was restarted again. I can use my computer fine, but I can't use the internet on my iPhone 4s.
I have closed the internet, turned off the wifi, turned it back on. Restarted my phone. Cleared website data and it still gives me the same message.
Just not sure if I have totally screwed myself or what to do to fix it.
    Thanks for any help!

Okay than this definitely was not Apple. Apple support techs never have access to your mouse. It sounds like this company installed some software on your Mac. It is hard to tell what their intentions are but just assume in these situations that all your data was compromised. Possibly all your online accounts have been compromised such as social networks, banks, etc.. The smartest thing to do would be to change all of your passwords and reinstall OS X on your Mac. It sounds extreme but that's what happens when a 3rd party company gains control of your computer.

  • MBA won't connect to the internet

I am having a problem that I cannot figure out. I've searched Google as well as the Apple discussion boards, and I have found nothing that addresses my problem.
Yesterday, I was able to turn on my airport in my iMac (which is connected to a cable modem - ISP is Roadruner) and turn on internet sharing, which allowed my MBA and ipod touch to connect to the internet. My wife uses the iMac and I use the MBA. The only thing my wife uses on the iMac is Safari and iPhoto so no settings have been changed.
Today, my system got an attitude, and now nothing will connect. The internet sharing is turned on in the iMac control panel, same as yesterday. All appropriate boxes are checked. I have tried turning off the firewall, and back on and I get nothing.
I know the problem is not with the MBA or the touch, because I was able to connect to the university's wifi all day today when I was at school with no problems.
My MBA under the network says it has self assigned an IP address and will not be able to connect.
The iMac also says that the Air Port has self-assigned IP address.
I have tried deleting the interfaces, and re-adding them. I have tired renewing the DHCP. I have disabled the internet sharing and enabled it again. The little airport icon in the bar at the top has a gray airport symbol with an arrow in it pointing up. The iMac can connect to the internet just fine with an Ethernet connection. Both systems have been restarted multiple times. I have tried to repair the permissions. I have reset the cable modem. I have powered down both systems and let them sit, then tried again. Not sure what else to do.
Any suggestions on how I can get this problem fixed would be greatly appreciated.

I have also got problems with connecting to internet after upgrading my 1. gen MBA to 10.6.1
    Symptoms are as follows:
No changes in network setup on the mac or on the routers. No problems with iphone, touches, MacBooks, Macbook Pros or Mac Pros. Only with MBA. I am usually roaming between 4 different locations, all with different Apple Airports. I am only capable of reaching internet on one of the locations. I am able to connect to the resources on the internal networks (all 4), but not able to contact internet.
Since upgrading, I have not been able to connect to wifi services like Telenor, Vodafone, T-mobile etc. Had some success with Vodafone, however, I was not able to reach by the login screen. When trying to connect to the same services with my iphone, I had no problems.
No problems contacting internet with thetering withe the iphone, but it cost a h..... lot more.
Is there anything wrong with the implementation of DNS/routing???

  • Can't connect to the internet at all

I recieved an email today stating that my phone line and broadband service has been activated at 3:30am this morning. My home hub arrived today, and upon trying to connect I am greeted with a orange light, and a flashing red one on the router. Has my line been activated? Because I live above a club and worry that BT may have activated the internet for the phone line downstairs, not upstairs.

According to this, you have to wait until tomorrow http://btsupport.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/3445634/1386322208/redirect/1

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.
