I have tried to install flash player about a dozen times. It seems to install, says it is successful but if you check, none appears to be installed.

  • I have tried to transfer files from my windows media player to my ipod but it saysthe device has stopped responding or stopped working.this is the first time ive connected nmy ipod to my new pc.any ideas?

I have tried to transfer music from my windows 7 media player to my ipod. This is the first time i have tried to use my ipod on my new computer .In the media player it doesnt give me the option to add to itunes library it just give me the option to send to my ipod and when i do this it says that the device has stopped responding or isnt working.Any ideas? coz i aint got the foggiest where i am going wrong. My ipod keeps telling me to update the software, but then will i lose the music thats already on my ipod?

You should import the music (that is listed in Windows Media Player) into your iTunes Library - on your computer - to add it to your existing iTunes Library. I take it you have moved (or copied) your music from the old computer to the new computer, haven't you?
Then Sync your iPod to that Library.
iPods will not respond to Windows Media Player, they're designed to connect to iTunes.

  • Computer will not boot up.  I have tried running disk utility and re-installing OSX.  It says disk locked

I am new to Macs and have bought a 13" Macbook Pro and a IMac 21.5" 14 months ago.  I have only used the Macbook pro about 15-20 times and after upgrading to Maverick it will not boot up.  I get the white screen and a spinning circle.  I have tried Disk utility repair and even re-installing the OSX, but it says disk locked.  I do not recall setting any password protections or passwords.  I now have a brick with a lit up Apple logo.  If anyone knows how I can bypass the disk lock error or reset the laptop, please let me know.  This has not been a pleasant conversion from PC's.  Even my IMac blacks out from time to time and both happened right after my factory warranty expired.

The internal drive is malfunctioning. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

My iPad is not letting me download this because I do not have flash player? I have already installed an app but unsure about how this helped. I would be eternally grateful if you could help me

There is no Flash Player for iPad. Apple doesn't allow it.

  • I have installed flash player on my mac but it´s not working on safari

    Hello,
I am supposed to do a course which has a cd and some simulations in flash. In the instructions it said to download adobe flash player and select safari as the application to view these .swf files with.
I have a Macbook running Mac OS X version 10.6.8 and I have downloaded the flash player version 11.1.102.55, which apparently is the latest version for my mac.
It says installed succesfully and in the mac´s preferences I see it.I have checked allow sites to save information on this computer.
In Safari´s preferences I have made sure that all plugins are enabled, but when I go into help and open installed plug-ins on safari I cannot see flash player in the list.
I have tried going in HD/library/Internet plug ins and I do see flash player.plugin.
I am no sure what I have done wrong and would appreciate any kind of help.
    Thank you very much.

Try using Firefox. Flash usually works on Firefox when it won't on Safari. I noticed that the Safari does not show the same version as Firefox does. Iwonder if that could be the problem. Safari on the left shows 10.1, Firefox show 10.3

  • Flash Player install package tries to open Matlab instead of installing Flash Player

I have downloaded the install package for Adobe Flash Player for Mac OS X. However when I try to install it attempts to open Matlab rather than installing the package. I'm trying to figure out what to tell it to change the default option that must somehow be invoking Matlab when it sees the mdlp extension.

    Hi,
Please delete everything (.dmlp) after the .dmg in the file name.
We are seeing this behaviour with users that have MathLab installed and we are investigating why this is happening.  FWIW, this happens to other software DMG files as well, not just the Flash Player installer.  For some reason, when users have MathLab installed it appends the .mdlp extension to the DMG file that was downloaded  When users attempt to launch it instead of being opened with DiskImageMounter, which is what OS X uses to open DMG files, it opens using MathLab.  If this happens in the future just delete '.mdlp' from the file name and DiskImageMounter will open the DMG, instead of MathLab.

    Hello Suzanne,
Thank you for providing the details of iTunes unexpectedly quitting.  You have taken some really good troubleshooting steps already.  I found an article with additional steps you can take to further isolate and troubleshoot an issue like the one you described:

  • Every time I install Flash Player 14 and open my browser I get the message asking me to allow Adobe Flashruntime. I allow it and the message repeats itself constantly. My OS is WIN7 64 bit. My browser is IE11.  I cannot view any videos

I would appreciate any assistance with this matter.

I  resolved the problem by doing an uninstall and reinstall of IE11. I guess that was the problem all along. Got to love IE.

  • I have OSX 10.8.5 and cannot install Flash Player 17.  On two computers, I get an "install Adobe Flash Player quit unexpectedly" error.  Many websites no longer work. How can I load the new flash player??

    Hi howardc94036148,
Can you Please attach a screenshot (How to post a screenshot in the forum ) and explain how you are installing flash player on you system and how did you download the flash player installer?
In the meanwhile you can you try Uninstalling any remain of Flash Player on your system using - Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS and Re-installing using - Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac - NPAPI for Safari or Firefox and PPAPI for Opera or Opera Dev.

  • Could you please let me know if Flash Player will inform a user that his system requirements are insufficient when trying to use a given version of Flash Player?

    Hi,
Could you please let me know if Flash Player will inform a user that his system requirements are insufficient when trying to use a given version of Flash Player?
    Regards

It depends, but in general, no.
The guidance on minimum system requirements is mostly about what we will and won't fix bugs for.  Flash Player probably works on Windows Server 2000, and we're not going to intentionally break it or prevent you from installing it, but we're also not going to fix it if it breaks.  In instances where it's going to crash on launch or have some other horrendous out-of-box experience, like attempting to install on a PowerPC Mac, then we'll prevent the installation outright.

  • When I recently updated FireFox, the DownloadHelper add-on was lost, and will now not download, though I have tried about 5 times??

When I recently updated to the newer version of FireFox, (version 3.6.13) the DownloadHelper add-on was lost, and it will now not re-install, though I have tried about 5 times?? When I clicked the icon to download the add-on the download progress bar indicated that the download was underway however, when it had completed, the add-on appeared not to have downloaded - including no icon - not even if I search for one. When I tried to download the same add-on again, the download window indicated the download in a faded color and it seemed to be indicating that I already had the add-on. Try as I might, I can't get it to work. DownloadHelper always worked with no trouble on the previous version of FireFox. Are you able to help? Many thanks for this service!

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (Firefox 4: click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar) to do a compatibility check.
You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.

  • HT201210 I have a "firmware file not compatable" message whilst trying to update my iPhone4 from Sofftware Version 5.1 to 5.1.1 via iTunes. I have tried about 3 times and keep getting the same message

I have a "firmware file not compatable" message whilst trying to update my iPhone4 from Sofftware Version 5.1 to 5.1.1 via iTunes. I have tried about 3 times and keep getting the same message. Any ideas/suggestions?

Since posting the above - I have now tried downloading the update on my iPhone rather than via iTunes, and its just worked and installed and seems fine! Was a lot quicker as well than the download time via iTunes
