Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through this time?

I could not install the upgrade for iTunes and Error Message said " Can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing". Reinstalling has NOT helped. . Is the fault with the Apple iTunes upgrade?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique. -

Hi
I installed a upgrade of itunes on my windows computer
It came up with error message of msvcr80.dll I went to repair and to reinstall itunes but this didnt fix it
Please help meUninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

Hello everybody!
I tried to install iTunes 10.5 update and everything seemed to be OK, but when it finished an installation there were stil 10.4.1 version of iTunes.
Does smbd know why?I'm having the same issue. Lion is up to date with v10.7.2. Currently running iTunes 10.4. Tried installing the regular way...un-installing, re-installing...re-downloading from internet...dragging the install into iTunes icon on dock...I'm perplexed. Every time I plug in iPhone or iPad, it tells me there's an update available - when I click to update, it's the same thing - then the software update utility keeps stating that all software is up to date. Sigh...I feel as though I'm chasing my tail.
Hopefully, there are answers out there! iOS 5 is so cool!!! -
So, I was trying to install the update to iTunes...
I was attempting to install the 11.0 update to iTunes, and it almost finished but then gave me an error message saying "Error writing to file:
C:\programdata\188F432-103A-4ffb-80F1-36B633C5C9E1\x86\x86\GEARAspiWDM.sys. Verify that you have access to that directory"
I'm on a 32-Bit Windows 7 Home Premium Desktop Computer. 2GB RAM, Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 2.00GHz Processor, if that stuff matters.
Originally it had Vista and I had a slightly similar problem, but at that time nothing at all would install.
I want to get to sleep, but I got to figure this out first...
If someone wants an image of it, or thinks it will help, I'll provide that.Yeah, well, see, I did EXACTLY that, and then it gave me another error.

Error message when trying to run the Upgrade for Itunes
I got a new laptop and to transfer my Itunes I downloaded the latest version of Itunes from the website (v7)
When I try to run the upgrade on my new laptop I get the error message - *This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and is accessible, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.*
Can anyone help me and give me advice on how to get my itunes upgraded!!!!! I miss my tunes!Did you ever figure out the problem? "Contact Software Manufacturer"?? That sounds ominous... I've got the same issue and I'm pretty durn aggravated right about now....
Thanks! -
I received a notice to download a newer version of itunes. After starting the process of downloading I got an error message which then suggested I try to download itunes again. When I did this it showed the file was already in my system and stopped the download process. Now I can't open my itunes to play my music. What can I do to get it back?

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise.
I need to upgrade my version of Itunes from version 7 to version 10 or 11.
I go to Help and click on Search for Upgrades.
I then select Upgrade Itunes.
The system starts to upgrade and download the new software.
It gets to 52.60 MB of 56 MB and then it just freezes / sticks and does not go any further ?
I have tried to upgrade on a number of occasions but the same thing happens each time.
Any help please ?Answer is in the original post.

What does the error message say? (Precise text, please.) -

"Service 'Apple Mobile Device Service' ('Apples Mobile Device Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privilege to start system services." [Abort Retry Ignore ]. "ItunesHelper was not installed correctly "If the above steps haven't helped try installing:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for a 32-bit core program, similar to previous 64-bit releases of iTunes, or roll back to:

i tried to install the latest update on my ipad. i get an image which says I tunes with a cord to plug in. it is on a black background.. it has been like this for three hours now. if i turn it off and then on again that is the only page that appears. i am stuck. please can anyone help me? thanks.
It's too bad you lost stuff. I would recommend that you back stuff up before the next one. For example, iOS8 will be out sometime this fall. Just in case you experience the same thing again, do a backup before you do the update.
