I have tried to remove sweetpacks per your intructions but there is no "remove" button on the extensions page for sweetpacks.
I tried the suggestions posted and nothing works. I have tried going to the mozilla extensions page but there is no "remove" button for sweetpacks.
I have also tried "about:config" but when I make the change to have a different homepage (google), the change is not saved, it goes back to sweetpacks.
Again, nothing seems to work even though i removed all the sweetpacks stuff via control panel/remove programs - sweetpacks keeps coming up as my homepage.

First, from what I am aware of, Sweetpacks is a hijacker so it won't be in your Add-ons or about:config. You need to go to your Control Panel (''Start>Control Panel>Programs and Features>Uninstall a program)''. There you should find these programs to uninstall: '''SweetIM for Messenger, SweetPacks Toolbar for Firefox, Update Manager for SweetPacks''. ''NOTE: these instructions are based of IE''
If this doesn't work, then you should reset Firefox to factory settings. (''NOTE: your bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, cookies and web form auto-fill information will be saved'') To do this, Click the orange Firefox button at the top left corner of the window, hover over ''Help'' and click ''Troubleshooting Information.'' Click the ''Reset Firefox'' button in the upper right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page.

I am running Windows XP, SP3. I have tried to run Firefox 4 several times but it doesn't work properly. The main page comes up showing the logo, below that is the search box, and below that is another box with nothing in it.
The external DVD/CD Writer will Not appear on your desktop when you attach it to your iMac. It will appear in "Finder", which is in your Dock.

The newer versions of Firefox are incompatible with my website builder. Tech support advised me that Firefox 3.6 would work.

Firefox 3.6 came out in 2010. It is VERY old in terms of software and especially web browsers. Firefox is currently on version 36.0.4 and version 37 comes out next week. You should ALWAYS be running the latest version of a web browser. Don't believe me? If you are using 3.6, you are vulnerable to most of the bugs at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox/, and your browser can't use all the new features http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Firefox#Version_4.0 from version 4 down (there are lots). You are stuck in technology 5 years old and can't use all the modern awesomeness.
Honestly, if your website building tool only supports Firefox 3.6, you should consider finding a new tool. There are lots of modern web technologies (like HTML5, CSS3, etc.) that that tool is probably forcing you to miss out on.
If you really need to use that tool, can't upgrade, and firefox 3.6 is the only version that works (I'd try using it with modern Firefox, it might work) then use the portable version of Firefox 3.6 and use regular Firefox for all your regular surfing. If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

I have tried manually removing itunes and reinstalling. i have gone through the sevices anf tried turning on the AMDS. i have tried turning off the firewall. i have tried restoring my device. i have tried "fixing" the AMDS in the add/remove programs. I have tried using a different device. i have tried using a different cable. I have tried all of the steps given in the link supplied by Apple. None of these things have fixed my problem. I still have the Error Message "The Apple Mobile Device Service started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs or Alerts service. I am using Windows XP. I am leaning towards a last resort which would be to wipe my hard drive and start from scratch. Does anyone have a solution?

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do. -

i tried reseting my ipod today and had a similar problem... it wont be recognized by itunes, the only thing i havent tried is putting it into DFU mode, or the state that it is in when u recieve it telling u to connect it to itunes.i recommend putting it into DFU mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34v8HMC9B98 this should better explain it. if i find another way, ill keep u updated

I have tried to restore my i phone 3gs using a USB cable connecting to itunes.The process has gone smoothley but i am now getting this message on my i phone;"your i phone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable.Try connecting your i phone to itunes to activate it,or try again in a few minutes.I have been trying and trying again and switched off my firewall too.but still getting this message.Can anyone please advise me?That is almost always because the phone was hacked to unlock it from the original carrier.

I have just purchased 2 songs and I went to sync my Iphone 3G and I get an error 13019.. the iphone "my name" cannot be synced. I have tried.. removing voice memos (I have none) remove all music.. syncs fine.. if I choose to sync music I get the error help..

I have hidden unwanted books from the purchased area of the iBooks store, but they're are still appearing on the front page of iOS as cloud downloads, is there a way to remove these from iBooks without using the hide iCloud books button?

I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The 5 books left are ones I decided to keep as seen in the following picture.
This is how it appears in iBooks on my mac. There are 4 books downloaded and 1 book that I have decided not to download at this time. I would still like to keep this book available in the cloud incase I want to download it again in the future. You’ll notice that hide iCloud books is not selected, if I wanted to hide the book that I have chosen to keep in the cloud, but have not downloaded yet I could.
This is exactly how I think this feature should work. If you have hidden a book from your purchases it should not show up in the mac Ibooks app. (I am aware you can never actually delete a purchase, just hide them and that hidden purchases can be restored to your account from within the account management section of the iBooks store).
The iOS app is working differently for me. Here is a picture of the purchased tab on the iBooks store in iOS Ibooks. Again notice that pictures of Lilly is still yet to be downloaded. This is how I expected it to look.
