I have two accounts with Apple -- what do I do?

My older account is based on an account ID that I created eons ago for iTunes purchases. All my apps, music, movies, etc were made through this ID, because I used it before I got my .mac account. We'll call this "ID#1"
When I got a .mac account, I established ID#2.
Now, with iCloud, how do I merge these two??? At this point, I'm vested in both e-mail addresses, but I also already have lots of content at .me through ID#2, but all my purchases are on ID#1. If I set my iOS devices to ID#2, will my music, videos, etc. stop playing??? (at least the ones that aren't iTunes Plus)??
Can merge both IDs into a single iCloud account?
I see others have this problem, and I don't see any answers for anyone else, either.

I just found this article. Ouch!

I keep getting notified I have an update available but when I try to update I get the following msg ,"You have updates available for other accounts To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it.". I only have one account with apple and the software was preinstalled when I purchased my macbook in Aug 2012 with that account. Has anyone had this problem or know how to find out what account apple needs?

You log into the App store using the same Apple ID you used to set the computer up, verify that none of your apps are hidden and that they have all be accepted and then download and install the update
for help contact the App store support - link is on the right ot the App store window

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    You can't.
You can't merge accounts or transfer content.

  • HT204053 I have two accounts with ITunes can I merge the two

I have two account with ITune and I would like to merge them.. any help with this ..

Sorry, Apple IDs cannot be merged.

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

  • I have two accounts with iTunes.  Can they be merged or somehow combined so that I can have access to everything from both my old iPod Touch and my new iPhone5?

I have two accounts with iTunes.  Can they be merged or somehow combined so that I can have access to everything from both my old iPod Touch and my new iPhone5?

    No.
You can authorize your computer for both accounts.  Put all of the music on one computer.  Sync your devices to that computer.

  • TS2446 My I cloud I do ( have two 2,with apple)Why would not the first one work?

I can make may updates on my MacBook Pro (2012) but I have heard with this old Tank many problems arise with Istalling the FREE LION,I have Snow Leopard and it works fine, some application Pages, will not recieve the update free becuase it is not supported. Also Do I have to upload Lion then upload Mountain Lion, and can I run it on my machine without Buggie Operation,Also even though I am logged in I recieve The TS2446 error even when I am logged in to my valid account? What is the problem I know this 17.5 inch. Mac Book Pro was the best in Feb 2012 (OLD in know).

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.2 (Mountain Lion preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
You can set Snow Leopard up to access the email on an existing iCloud account which has been set up on a compliant device, and you may be able to sync iCal using an unsupported (and possibly unreliable) hack, but no other facilities will work You cannot open an iCloud account on Snow Leopard.
This page outlines the limited use you can make of an existing iCloud account with Snow Leopard:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
To make proper use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Leopard or Snow Leopard, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).

  • I have two accounts with the same name. One no longer works. Can I delete it without deleting the folders it shares with the other account? How?

Each account has the same name (e.g. both are called [email protected]). The newer one was set up by accident during a conversion from Outlook. Both access the same inbox and sent mail. The two accounts show up as separate in Thunderbird and both have their own inboxes and sent mail boxes. The older one has not updated since the newer one was created, and the older one can no longer reach the server. I want to delete the old one, but am worried that it may delete the folders for the new one in the process. All of the relevant messages are still hosted on the ISP's server. Please advise whether I can do a simple "delete account" on the old account and not wipe out the new one at the same time.

Actually, doing a "delete account" does not delete the folders associated with it. They are still there, but unused. There should not be a problem with doing the "delete account".

  • I have two accounts for apple, how can I sync them?

When I was younger I signed up for Itunes where I managed alot of my CD's/ downloads. This was under a specific apple ID (email address)
A few months back, my husband bought me an IPHONE 5 and set it up under a different apple ID (email address).
Now when I download on my IPHONE 5, they don't all show up on the same account.
Please instruct me how to sync these two accounts.
    THERE MUST BE A WAY!
    Thanks!
    A.

There is no way to merge Apple IDs.
Content from multiple Apple IDs can be on a computer and iDevices. Simply authorize the computer for the additional Apple ID and put the content on the computer. Then the content can be synced to the iDevice.
The other option is to stop using one of the Apple IDs.

  • I have two accounts with two different email-adresses, but Adobe Manager mixes them up.. What to do?

The first account was a free trial account, but it is no longer active (i think...)
The second account is a CC Student and Teachers Edition.

    Hi Jacob Leeberch,
    Welcome to Adobe Forum,
I found that this e-mail address that is in forum is not assigned to any CC. The best option would be to log out & log back in of the Creative Cloud desktop App as this would activate the subscription.
Please log in with the Adobe ID that has active subscription. Please feel free to contact us at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6.
    Kind Regards,

  • I now have two accounts with same number!

On May Tenth my account was charged, but the card on file had been cancelled due to security reasons on my end! I put in my new card, but at that time it wouldn't let me renew! I was told The only way to renew was to get another account under my sign in that I used! I had to pay more for this, but I didn't mind! What I do mind though is now the account that I was told that I couldn't renew Is now bugging me to renew it!  If I had known this I would have resubmitted the new card for this payment! Still confused!!!

There is no way to change/upgrade an existing subscription since each is unique and people are allowed to have more than one simultaneously:
     https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10414/how-do-subscriptions-work#6
If you add an additional subscription to your account, you will need to cancel your previous subscription prior to it being renewed in order for you not to be simultaneously billed for that subscription.  You need to go into your Skype account and cancel your $9.99 subscription:
     https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1881
You can attempt to put in a request for a refund here:

  • HT4759 I have mobilme account with Apple that is now iCloud. My mac mail program has stopped downloading emails to my computer. I am running 10.5.8 operating system. Will this this work?

My mac mail program has stopped sending incoming mail downloads. Have spend many hours trying to figure this out..
It keeps asking for a password and won't accept the one I have. Why is the server not working? I am on 10.5 OS and
wondering if that is the problem? Having to pay $100 for an upgrade every year is a rip off....

10.6 is $29, 10.7 is $29, buy them both and you wont spend $100

  • Two account with same UPN in Active Directory

Is it possible to have two accounts with same UPN in AD?
    I'm using Windows Server 2012 R2

To expand on what Mr X said. Active Directory allows you to assign just about anything to the userPrincipalName attribute, as long as the value is unique. The value of this attribute is generally referred to as the UPN. But you could assign values with no
"@" symbol, for example, or more than one "@" symbol. Also, Active Directory does not require that any value be assigned. It is an optional attribute.
If no value is assigned to the userPrincipalName attribute, then the user can use a "default" UPN, which is <sAMAccountName>@<DNS domain name>, where <sAMAccountName> is the "pre-Windows 2000 logon" name of the user
(the value of the sAMAccountName attribute), and <DNS domain name> is the DNS name of the domain.
If a user has a value assigned to userPrincipalName that does not match this "default" form, then they can logon with either UPN, as long as no one else has either value assigned to their userPrincipalName attribute. You will note that Active
Directory enforces uniqueness in the domain on sAMAccountName values.
If in domain "domain.com" a user has a sAMAccountName of "jsmith" but userPrincipalName "[email protected]", then another user can have userPrincipalName of "[email protected]" (as long as no one else
has that value assigned to userPrincipalName). They can each logon with their assigned values for userPrincipalName. But the first user can no longer also logon with their "default" value, based on their sAMAccountName, because it is now
used by someone else. But if you attempt to assign a value to userPrincipalName that is also assigned to another user, you get an error.
Bottom line, only one person can logon with any given UPN.

  • HT204053 Hi I've just purchased a iMac which is great, my problem is that I've a apple id account and also my wife has one, is there any way we can have two accounts i.e. separate accounts on the iMac with individual iTunes accounts, appreciate help pleas

Hi ive just purchased an IMac and encountered an issue i didnt think of put hopefully someone can help? Ive a apple account and also the wife both with seperate itunes accounts etc. Is it possible to have two profiles with seperate accounts on our system, appreciate any help..

I believe you can accomplish this by setting up separate user profiles for each of you on your Mac (System Preferences>Users & Groups (click the lock symbol if locked and provide the administrator name and password, then click the "+").  That should allow you to sign into separate iCloud accounts and maintain separate iTunes libraries within your respective user accounts.

  • Hi, we have two iphones with two accounts.  The apple tv automatically syncs with one account to play music from the iphone to apple tv.  How can I use my iphone to do the same?

Hi, we have two iphones with two accounts.  The apple tv automatically syncs with one account to play music from the iphone to apple tv.  How can I use my iphone to do the same?

Our experience is a little different, we have different iTunes accounts for different family members, each family member has their own iTunes library on their own mac, each mac uses my Apple ID for homesharing and we are able to play purchased content from each library on the Apple TV.
