  • How Do I Transfer my iTunes Library from One TC to another TC?

I just bought one of the new Time Capsules and when it gets here I will have to do some work to transfer files from my existing TC. I ran out of room on my hard disk, so in iTunes I put my movies and TV shows on the TC and have my music on my hard disk.
So when I get my new TC, I know about setting up backups on it. And I know about telling iTunes to point to a new location. But how do I get iTunes to transfer those existing movies and TV shows from the old TC to the new TC? Just transfer them by hand in the FInder?

You should use the Finder to copy your iTunes data from one shared disk to the other.
Did you know that Apple does not recommend storing any other data on a Time Machine backup disk? Time Machine will gradually fill up the disk and then automatically purge old backups, so you will eventually run out of space. It may also confuse Time Machine to have its available space suddenly disappear.

  • How Do I Transfer my iTunes Library from one computer to another?

I am getting a new computer and want to transfer my iTunes. How do I do this?
Also, do I need to do something to tell my iPod that this new computer is now its "home" computer?
Last, will this affect my licensing agreement? (It should not count as one of the 5 computer transfers, since it is still my computer (eg not transfering to someone else))
    Thank you

  • I have two users on my iMac, i want to transfer the font book from one to the other ?

I downloaded a bunch of fonts on my first User profile, now I don't use it because of problems and I now use a new profile.
How can I get the font book from one user to over ride the other one ??
    thanks in advance

Font Book is an application available to all accounts.
There are three Font folders (provided by OS X)
    /System/Library/Fonts
Contains fonts essential to the proper working of the OS and various included applications.
    /Library/Fonts
Contains the standard set of fonts provided with the OS version, and is where you should put any fonts that you want to be shared by all accounts
    ~/Library/Fonts
Is the folder in each account. Fonts in here will be available only to that account.
Log into your old account and transfer the fonts from
    ~/Library/Fonts to /Library/Fonts
"/" indicates the root (Macintosh HD), "~/" is shorthand for your user folder.

  • I have just bought a MacBook Pro and want to transfer my iTunes library from my old laptop to mac.  I've prepped and copied the library to an external hard drive then loaded it onto my mac however none of the music or apps are appearing.

I've moved my library to my Mac but none of my apps and only some purchased music/books appear in itunes.  I'm sure I'm missing something but I'm new to Mac's so not sure what! Any help appreciated

Tunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • I'm trying to transfer my iTunes library from my old Windows-based Acer to my new MacBook Pro. The Acer has two hard drives, and I've had to split my music between the two drives in order to hold it all.

Neither drive has enough room to consolidate the entire library.  And over time (for reasons I just chalk up to the Acer being a bad computer), I've inadvertently created multiple "libraries".  After everything went missing somehow a couple of years ago, I had to import a previous library called "Previous iTunes Library," and my library has annoyingly enough been called that ever since.  What's the best way to make all this get fixed into a new complete library on my new Mac?  I have an external hard drive, and if I cleared everything else off of it, it might be able to store the entire consolidated library.  Would that work?

It sounds like the library might have been placed in your Home/Library folder which is invisible.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For  Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
When you find the iPhoto library move it to your Pictures folder.
