I have two ipad 2's, why can't i use the same update file for ios7 to update both?

my kids have an ipad 2 each and we have limited internet, ihave downloaded ios7 update and updated one but it requires a second download for the second ipad 2, is it possible to use the one download like you use to be able to ?
I have tried to "shift / click update" and navigate to update but it will not allow it as it's "firmware is incompatable"

Are the two iPads identical? Can one be Wi-Fi only and the other be Wi-Fi + cellular?

Yes but the iPhone chargers will struggle to charge the iPads ,they need more power than the iPhone chargers produce and with an iPad will charge VERY slowly

You are getting each other's text messages because you're using the same ID for iMessage. To fix this, one of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign in with a different ID. To avoid getting each other's FaceTime calls, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

It is up to the app developer to decide if the app should work in landscape mode or not. This is also true on Android phones, by the way.

I would like to set up two different Itunes accounts on my mac. I would like to have different accounts for my wife and I so that our devices have different accounts/contacts/email and stuff but we would like to use the same music library. Can I set the different itunes to go to the same file to see music? Or could I copy the music file and give the copy to the second itunes account? I could set it up and authorize the music like for another user? Is any of this possible?

Try moving the entire iTunes Media folder to the Shared folder on your Mac and then in iTunes preferences, change the location of that folder to line it up. Then all you have to do in another user is follow the second set of steps to get that shared properly. Check out the article below for more detailed instructions.

You need to use the iTunes backup you made on your old computer and restore it to the new one.

I think yes if you both use the same iCloud account. However,You can add/sync to other calendars like the Google calendar and not show that one one device.

Why can't I use the iPad as my smartphone?

My basic question is,why can't I use the IPad as my smartphone? Ipad is doing everything what a smartphone does, except the calling facilities. Since IPad can connect to the Internet(WiFi), and via VOIP services like skype or yahoo, we can very well connect to any mobile or landline phone. So what I'm asking is, Ipad can very well provide some User interface as phone does and internally it can use the VOIP to connect to phones. Share your views.

You can as long as you don't want to make calls over a mobile phone network as the iPad doesn't have the hardware to make calls that way.
