How do I rename my iPads in iTunes or on the iPad?
1. Connect iPad to iTunes
2. In the sidebar, under devices click your iPad
3. When the highlight is light blue, edit the name then press Return/Enter.

This is so lame it feels like MS Windows. From a simple one step process it now requires first to duplicate, then ito browse back to the folder you were working in and then finally to type in a new mame. Why not just leave save as?????? I have two iPads and one is connected to the internet but my other iPad was connected then was not and since then I have not been able to add my internet back onto my iPad it only says cannot connect to the server any help would be great thanks
If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured. -

SOLUTION:
Iam pointing t0 windows7 os.
1) go to control panel
2) open hardware and sound
3) In that open Devices and printers
4)In that u can find Apple Iphone.
5) now right click on this --> Hardware --> Properties --> General --> Uninstall --> ok.
6) now unplug and plug in ur iphone again.There u go u iphone name changes to its original name.I am having this problem. At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2. I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps. I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them. The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage. It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup. With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up. The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete. This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems. -
