On the iPad open Settings/iCloud and delete the account using the button at the bottom. Once deleted log in using the other account. For iTunes Stores use Settings/iTunes & Apps Stores, tapp on the Apple ID at the top then sign out. Once done sign in using the other account. Once you are happy with the changes plug your iPad into your computer to update the backup.

Apps are tied to the Apple Id they were purchased with. So any updates for the Apps will ask for that apple ID to update.
The only way to prevent this is if you remove all the Apps that were purchased with your ID from the iPad.

I am currently an iPhone 3GS user. I just got my new iPhone 5 and as I use two numbers, thought of switching my other number to this 3GS and thus using 2 iPhones for both the numbers. So, can someone tell me if I can use the same Apple id for both the cell or I need to create a new one to use two iPhones. (Please note: I use iCloud only for contacts sync and dont mind having same contacts on both the devices)

I have my old iphone 5s and recently I bought a iphone 6. What I want to do is to use same apple id on both of them, but I want to have different apps and media on them.
I plan to use the iphone 5s as my 2nd phone, so I do not need same apps/music/movies/books on them. Any tips how I can keep them different? Every time I sync I have to manually select the books and music I want to have on my phone. I want to create two different profiles for my phones which will have different apps, books and music.
I do not use icloud, so that is not a problem for me.

I believe that I can set up the app store account using my current Apple ID so I can download apps that I have already purchased to the new phone. But do I need to set up separate iCloud accounts? Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

Our experience is a little different, we have different iTunes accounts for different family members, each family member has their own iTunes library on their own mac, each mac uses my Apple ID for homesharing and we are able to play purchased content from each library on the Apple TV.

I have two iphones with different phone numbers that I use. I have one of them set up on icloud now, but do not know how to set up my second device on icloud. Both of my iphones use my same Apple ID for purchases, etc. Is there a simple way to add a device to my icloud account? Thank you in advance for any help someone may be able to give me.

To move one of the phones to a different iCloud account (if that's what you want to do), go to Settings>iCloud and turn all synced data to Off. When prompted, choose to keep the data on your iPhone. After everything is off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. This will delete the account from the phone but not from iCloud so the other phone will not be effected. Then set up a new iCloud account with a different Apple ID and turn iCloud syncing in Settings>iCloud back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to the new iCloud account.
You will then have to go to icloud.com and sign into each iCloud account separately and delete any unwanted data that you don't want on the phone syncing with each account.

If you are using two iPhones on the same Apple Account by using the same Apple ID you can remove one by following the following:
Choose Settings > Store and tap Sign out
The apps and such should remain. If you want to clear all of that you can do the following:
The Erase all Content and Settings feature under Settings/General/Reset will remove your content and settings.

Welcome to the Apple community.
Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, providing you with your own contacts, calendars etc, not doing so will result in exactly what you have experienced. The contacts have likely been lost due to the options you have chosen at the login stage on each device.
Unless you have the missing contacts in a backup file, they won't be recoverable unfortunately. You can add them manually to the contracts that already exist and continue to share the iCloud account if you wish, but I suggest that you each have your own iCloud account.
Note, you can each have your own iCloud account, but continue to share an iTunes account for purchases of apps, books, music, TV shows etc etc.
