I have two ipods and they are somehow connected so they are getting same texts and items downloaded

i have two children who both have an ipod. some how they are connected. when one downloads a game the other one gets it and now my son is getting my daughters texts. how can i fix?

By "game center account", do you mean Apple ID?
If so, you can change it.
1. Tap settings and navigate to iTunes and App Stores
2. Tap "Apple ID" and then tap "Sign Out"
3. Log in with a different ID.

Thanks, Bob! You are correct. And, we learned this as we spoke with APPLE TECH SUPPORT by phone on Christmas day (800-APL-CARE). One of their reps spent the time to help us troubleshoot this, but the boiled down conclusion is your answer, and to repeat for the benefit of others, here is what worked:
1. With our Belkin router set to "out-of-the-box" WEP 64 bit security, we could not get wireless access of any kind. Only with the Security Mode set to DISABLED, could we gain access.
2. Changing the router's security mode setting to "WPA/WPA-2...." and entering a new min. 8 char passphrase, and then entering that same passphrase into the IPOD Touch, and restarting the router, did the trick!
Based on this, and some info found in another posting, I can only conclude that the IPODs and IPHONES do not support WEP security mode in many generic routers used by thousands of consumers. Hopefully, those same consumers can figure out how to change their wireless router setttings to WPA/WPA-2 security mode and ALSO get all their other wireless devices (PCs, laptops, WII boxes, ROKU boxes) all reconfigured to WPA mode, too.
I THINK THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT APPLE NEEDS TO ADDRESS WITH WEP COMPATIBILITY and it may also be the case that MOST CONSUMERS ARE USING WEP 64 BIT security on their home wireless routers?
In any case, it's working now, so anyone who is having problems should try changing to WPA mode and post back here if it worked for them!

Why did you start a new account?
Copy everything from your backup copy of your computer to your new hard drive.
Ipod will sync to one itunes library at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content from the ipod.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is ituens purchases. The ipod is not a backup device.
Copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

I have two Ipod's one of my Ipod's won't sync the library over to my Mac. So i'm stuck with the songs I bought from Itunes. And I can't find a way to put them over.

A year ago I bought an Imac to replace my broken Laptop. I have two Ipod touches. They both shared the same Library of CD and Itunes music. Until I synced the Ipod to my Itunes account on my Imac. And it wiped the CD songs from that Ipod, and just uploaded the Itunes songs. Uploading the songs Via CD isn't an option any more as I moved quite a bit, so CD's are all scratched like mad. I still have all the CD songs left on one Ipod, and when connected to Itunes I have access to the CD songs. But can't transfer them over to my Library. But recently both os us have downloaded the Ibooks segment to our Ipads and now the only way to sync the second Ipad for Ibooks is to use the same used id and password. This is to avoid piracy. What could happen is, people could buy music, and give it away for free online. Usually it is then you buy a complete album off iTunes that it will only be available on one device. It is tied to that account, and the device must be registered to that account to listen to it.

They cannot be tracked unless connected to WiFi.

You seem to have tried everything, and you say it's syncing fine on your Dad's iMac, so I assume, you have also done a Disk Diagnostic from an earlier post by tt2 and conclude that your iPod Hardisk is good.
You don't have to use it as a heavy paperweight, the problem is only using your Windows 7 machine for syncing.
In your troubleshooting steps, did you try to use another High-Speed USB 2.0 port, USB controller resource are very scarce, so if you use other USB devices, while syncing your iPod, it may just freeze.
Windows have a bad reputation for device conflict, so better don't connect other USB devices, while syncing, better sync it while disconnected from Internet, stop antivirus just before you go to bed.

Apple does not have a "trade in" program for iPods, other than the recycling program that gives you a 10% discount on a new iPod (at an Apple Retail Store).

There are some third-party (non-Apple) companies that provide compensation for old iPods. You can also sell them yourself on eBay.
