I have two phone numbers?

Hi, 
I'm here trying to find an answer as to why I keep getting calls meant for a completely different number. It's been happening for almost 2 weeks now. This woman is trying to call her daughter and keeps getting my phone; I originally assumed it was a wrong number, but two things have indicated it is not. Firstly, the number she's asking for is very, very different from mine. Not even the same area code, almost no similarities at all. Secondly, the daughter herself called her own cell number and was connected to me.
I did call my local store, but they were completely stumped. I did also try a call to the global support number, but it mentions high call volume and puts me on hold, and I'm not a big fan of sitting on the phone for hours to begin with so I don't stay on the line very long. I'm hoping someone here can tell me what could be causing this, and/or how I would go about fixing it. This woman is always calling during the morning to early afternoon hours when I'm asleep after work, and her calls have become increasingly hostile (somewhat understandably since she keeps getting a different number) so I'd like this fixed somewhat soon.

Narmitz, that very well may be the case, as nothing else can cause the calls to be forwarded to your phone.  Mobile numbers and SIM numbers are not duplicated; therefore, two phones cannot have the same number.  The Call Forwarding may not be Immediate Call Forward, which is why not all calls are going to your phone.  It may be No Answer/ Busy Transfer forwarded to your phone. This means if nobody answers the call or the line is busy, then it is forwarded to your phone.  Either way, they other party will need to dial *73 [send] > wait for confirmation beeps/ message > press [end].  This will stop the calls from being forwarded to your phone.  However, it will have to be done from her phone, not yours.  
If you happen too talk to them again, please let them know they can call us, and we can see if the Call Forwarding is the issue.  We can be reached at 800-922-0204, or they can dial *611 [send] from their mobile phone, and we will be happy to help!

    You could get a Google voice account and have it forwarded to your iPhone (and other phones). This would effectively give your iPhone the capability of receiving calls to 2 different numbers and making calls from 2 different numbers. Although the Google voice capabilities on iPhone are somewhat awkward.

    On your BT home hub can you confirm that the handset light is lit?
    If you have not used the BB talk facility for around 60days (or maybe 90, im not sure) it will cease to function.

    Settings > Messages > Send and Received > Uncheck any number/email that does not belong to the device
    Note: The little blue (>) will give you an option to remove the number/email from the device

  • I have two phones on one apple ID. After one updated yesterday on icloud it automatically took my contacts off and put the other ones on there. They still show up if I actually type them in when texting but not in the list.

    You'll have to migrate one of the phones to a different account, then delete the other person's data from each account (you can continue to share the same Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and app stores). 
    Decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll. 
    Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
    Finally, go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't from each account.

    Apps are tied to the Apple Id they were purchased with. So any updates for the Apps will ask for that apple ID to update.
    The only way to prevent this is if you remove all the Apps that were purchased with your ID from the iPad.

    If you sign out of an Apple ID under Settings > iCloud, you should be prompted for an option to 'Keep on my iPhone' in regards to Contacts and other related data.  Then, when signing in with another Apple ID on that same iPhone, you should be prompted to 'Merge'.  If you do both, then you won't lose any Contacts, and the iCloud Contacts will then be merged into the new Apple ID iCloud, but also will stay on the old Apple ID iCloud.
    In the future, it might be best to post your own question thread instead of bumping a thread that is over two years old.

    You can have as many phone lines to your house as you like: each pays rental.
    I work from home so have two.
    One is for phone calls only, t'other has my broadband and BTV on it.
    The phone calls only has unlimited 24/7 calls; the second comes with after 1900-0700 and free weekend calls.
    Shame BT are phasing out BT BB Talk; under that regime every customer has two phone number/lines on one copper/fibre connection

    iphone 5 will use nanosim instead of microsim so that one won't work
    you could check you with carrier to see if they will give you another sim though but I dunno if the ATT 5 will have the right data bands so you might not get LTE or w/e
