I have two users on my laptop using windows 7.file sharing is turned on,when i click on the itune startup screen-find music files, nothing happens. the instructions in the help section must be from an earlier version of itunes because the edit folder is not laid out like it describes.

Have you rendered both iOS 7 and iOS 8 (both of which will work on your iPhone 5) out of the question entirely without trying every possible configuration? The animations can be disabled entirely, if that's the problem. And if the whiter-brighter user interface is the problem, there's reverse-contrast modes that darken everything. You can expose accessibility controls to gain immediate access to these functions to toggle them on and off. I guess my point is you may have decided against upgrading the OS based on an early experience with iOS 7 when Apple has since made changes in later revisions to address some of the usability complaints.
Now, Apple's instructions for downloading older versions of apps is to do so from the Purchased list, not from the app's product page.

I'm going to suggest a new Firefox profile in your wife's Windows profile. The following is a little long, but not difficult if you go step by step.
First, I recommend backing up your wife's Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Hopefully this one will be "hammer free" on first run and after closing down Firefox and restarting it in the new profile again. If so, the problem may have been one of your wife's add-ons. You have the choice to keep the problem profile and disable all non-essential add-ons, or migrate key settings to the new profile.

If the new profile also has the hammer, it could be created by an add-on in a separate folder. Please open Help > Troubleshooting Information and copy/paste the extensions and plugins in your reply.

The items that you can purchase from iTunes in the form of apps are for either an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod) or for Mac Computers.
The chances are the app you have downloaded is either written for an iPhone or iPad (iOS device -although even then there can be differences) or for a Mac computer (even then it may be OS version specific)
In a search for "Miss Kitty Slot" in iTunes I found this
It says it is an iPhone App.

Those Apps listed in the iTunes Apps library will only work with iOS devices. They are not designed to work on your Macbook Air system.

Somehow my "IPhoto" icon now says "Preview". When I click on "Preview" nothing opens up except the bar says Preview. When I click on the Preview on the bar, a box opens up with different items, except when I click on any of them, there is nothing there. The only thing that work is the "quit preview". iMovie suggest's it (as Share to iDVD) - but on Newer Macs - Apple decided it to not deliver iDVD any way.
If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
• iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
• DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
• Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
• Burn - only free alternative I know of on internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD

Let's start with the general things.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
