Flash Player is being blocked on Ubuntu 12.04 although according to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/?utm_source=firefox-browser&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_campaign=plugincheck-update the plugin is at the latest version.

After updating my system to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I can no longer view videos on Facebook or other sites. The only one I can view videos on is youtube. I have downloaded Adobe Flash player and still no luck. I cannot even open Preview on my computer anymore. Any ideas would be helpful thanks
Merely clicking the Preview icon in the Dock doesn't cause it to open anything, unless you had one or more windows open the last time it quit.
If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:

from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. Have you tried using a different browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari to see if they have a problem with Flash? -

You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)

Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)

It is asking for your computer administrator account password to make system changes. You "should" have an administrator account password.

The question is in the title. I have had no updates to Firefox 4, just error messages saying they can't be loaded and I should check that I am using the latest version. I have downloaded Firefox 4 again to be sure my copy is up to date but it makes no difference. I still get the error message.

Hi there, got 3 issues at once....
1) can't download the latest itune version onto my PC (it simply stops, not even an error message)
2) can't access the itune store and in order to fix this i need the latest version - catch 22!
3) one of my ipods isn't recognised by itune, nit sure if because of the earlier problems?

I have a new iPhone 4 which I cannot sync until I upgrade to the latest version of iTunes software (version 10.2.2). Upon trying to upgrade, I keep receiving a message which states, "The URL could not be opened." Anyone else had the same problem & does anyone have a solution? Would like to try other easier option(s) before uninstalling & installing newest version.
