Just updated my iPhone 4 from IOS 6.1.3 to 7.1.2, I know I am behind the times, but I got there eventually! All seems well but I have one specific problem and hope someone can offer a helpful suggestion.
On opening the app "Find my iPhone" I add my password and sign in, to be greeted with a screen that says;
"Update Find My iPhone. A new version of Find My iPhone is available from the App. Store. You must install the update to continue using the app. Update now"
On hitting the "Update now" button I'm taken to the relevant page on the App Store, to be told that I cannot update as it needs IOS8 to be able to continue and as my iPhone is only a 4 cannot install IOS8.
I'm left going around in circles. The only thing would be to delete the app, but looks like I could not re-install the version I would need. Any body have any thoughts or suggestions? (Apart from updating my phone, I have a few months left on the contract!)

I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

Sorry no. IOS 4.2.1 is the end of the line for iphone 3G.

I have downloaded an album from itunes, and one or two of the songs play in full but most of them stop mid song, even though it said 'download complete'. How do I fix this?
I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.) -
So, I have created my home sharing from my base computer to my laptop. On my lap top I see the tab for home sharing but it will not let me connect to my computer to share my music over. I have done everything iTunes has told me to but it still won't work. Any help would make my day...
I got some more info that may help.
I put a cd on my laptop, and was able to share it to my computer... So the problem is only from my computer to my laptop. I tried the firewall thing and it did not help. I read the rest of the trouble shooting page, and nothing else applies. iTunes is an execption and already was. I can not think of anything else being my problem. Do you think I should re-install iTunes or would that be a waste of time? At this point I am about to just call Apple for some help because I am getting to stressed over this.

I have made a playlist on my iPod touch 4th generation for some friends' wedding and I want to play the list in the order I wrote it. It keeps shuffling though, so how do I play it in track order
In iTunes, before you sync the playlist, you can right click on the playlist and select the option that says "Copy Play Order" that will preserve list in the order you have them.

I imagine you are talking about iPhone 4 CDMA (Verizon, Sprint). iTunes will only allow Update or Restore to iOS 6.0.1 You need to update iTunes on your computer to current version 10.7, with computer click the iTunes Tab at the top of this page and install current iTunes 10.7 If this iTunes will not install you may need to update your computer System, or try a different computer.

Where can I find the files I've downloaded off websites in my ipad?
I've downloaded several PDF files and ePub files off of a website and when they are finished downloading they disappear and I can find them anywhere. I have iBooks and some of the times I can send the files to the iBooks but lately the option doesn't show up. I'm new to the apple system so I'm clueless as to where to look.
The files are successfully downloaded when you see that window that says "open with iBooks" if you don't see this, and if you don't select that option, then the files haven't downloaded.
Then you can find the epubs and pdf's in the same iBooks app. You just have to tap in "Collections" and choose pdf, books or purchased books, -
Can I add my own art work to my albums in iTunes and/or share them with the Apple Store for others to download?

I thought that there was a way to do this. However, it would be neat to be able to upload correct Art Work for album covers so that other could share instead of having to scan / take picture and then import. I guess Apple would be inodated with incorrect pictures if we could upload to them.

I am trying to decide if I want to download a tv show [Doctor Who] in standard definition or high definition. How can I see the file size before I purchase the show from iTunes?
1. That's only getting the file size of the Preview.
2. Click on a photo to select it. Then click on the info button. You can get the dimensions and the file size in the top of the pane
Note that the final size of any image will depend on the export settings you choose. -
