I have upgraded Tiger to Snow Leopard to restore MacbookPro for space will I have to re-upgrade Tiger to Snow Leopard??
I have recently upgraded my Macbookpro from Tiger to Snow Leopard, however I wish to restore my MacBookPro for more space . When it restores, will I have to upgrade to Snow Leopard again? Hope this make Sense.

If you use the original installation disks which shipped with your computer, then it will install Tiger (10.4). However, if you use your Snow Leopard disk and do a clean install it will put you at 10.6.0 or 10.6.3 (depending when the disk was purchased, then simply use Software Update to update to the latest copy of Snow Leopard. Using the SL disk you can completely wipe your MBP and freshly install a copy of SL.

I have an iPad 2 and used old Apple ID for iBook app; now it wants to upgrade iBook but it is "stuck" on my old ID, yet I already created a new ID but it won't let me update the App. I have everything backed up on my MacBook so if I delete iBooks on my iPad and retrieve the App under my new ID and then sync with my MacBook, will I still have all of the books, etc.?
Your purchases are tied to your Apple ID. If you bought all of the books with the old ID then AFAIK you will have to continue to use that ID in order to continue to sync those books to the iPad.
You have to update the app with the old ID so I don't see how you could keep the books with the new ID. Maybe I am wrong about this, but someone else will chime in I'm sure and correct me if I am wrong. -

Just because an app is updated does not mean it should visually change, the update could simply be bug fixes. -

I have Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) and there is free update for Maverick will I have problems since there were no free updates prior to this? I just do not want to loose any data. Thank you for your help.
you should always make a backup of data regularly, especially when upgrading to a higher version of OS X. Just because it's free has no bearing on it giving anyone any problems. I don't think I see my situation addressed. I have one mobile me account and a separate appleID for purchases. I have 4 devices and my wife has two. Right now they are all using the same mobile me account to sync just the calendar and address book.
1.) I want to add email syncing for my 4 devices and email syncing for my wife's two devices separately, but we want to sync and share the same calendar and address book. Is this possible?
2.) I also have 5 different calendars, one for work, one for home, one for... etc. Is there a way to have different devices only sync certain calendars and not others or is it an all or nothing deal?

STo begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photosstream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
Generally speaking it is not a good idea to share an iCloud account between different people, it often results in contracts, calendars et cetera being deleted by others. Saying that however you can add secondary iCloud accounts to your devices at settings> mail, contacts, calendars. Secondary accounts do not have all the features of a primary account, but are often very useful. Because you can enable or disable each individual feature of an iCloud account, you can cover almost any situation by using secondary accounts. -
It would be helpful for those who are familier with iMovie to use Blu-Ray discs for burning and playing back their iMovie projects in HD. However, iMovie '11 doesn't have that special feature yet. I hear that 'Final Cut Pro X,' 'Roxio Toast 11 Titanium' and 'Roxio Toast 11 Pro' can copy projects like iMovie onto Blu-Ray, but it would take long periods of time to do that. Professional software, like FCP X and Toast, can be pricey.
I'm hoping that iMovie '11 will burn projects onto Blu-Ray, but will that ever come true?Will iBlu-Ray be an upgrade? OR and update of iDVD?
If it's an upgrade, then that means you'd still pay for it from the Mac App Store. I wish it would only cost between $20-40.
If it's a free update of iDVD, but with the new name, that would be better than to go out and pay for things!!!
However, external Blu-ray recorders would still be required if you were going to burn an iMovie project onto a blu-ray disc.

I don't really mind either way, but will I have to buy my music all over again, or will I get the new product with my music already on it? To make this a bit simpler, my itunes account never correctly synced with the music I bought on my ipod. I had a 5th gen, was completely satisfied with it, but I ended putting it through a swim session in a nearby lake. With my new ipod, also a 5th gen, will my music already be on the ipod? Any insight to this would be appreciated.

Upgrading iWeb 1.1.2 to IWeb 09...will I have to create a new website?
Like many others I see here, I am suffering with the error msg's when trying to publish my website now that MobileMe is up and running - basically it is a blog-based site and I know that MM and the old blogs are just not getting along..... I am debating whether to even continue with my MobileMe subscription but that is another thread.....
If I can find a solution to my publishing issues and decide to continue with MobileMe and then I buy the new iLife 09 it seems like from what I have read that I will need to completely scrap my old website and rebuild it. Is this really true? And if it is, why would I buy iLife 09 and rebuild my site (not an easy task) when it seems like this same scenario might happen repeatedly on future upgrades?
I'm really confused and before I contact the 24 hour help thought I would post here to see if I can get some clarification.
Thanks in advance.No. If you upgrade to 09 you would not have to re-build your site. iWeb 09 will be able to open your iWeb 06 built site - they are not backward compatible, but 09 should be able to open 06 without a problem.
Just make sure that you back up your domain files before you upgrade - so Home User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. -

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Unable to load Program Position Hierarchy in Investment Management
