  • Seeing black boxes instead of hyperlinks using Adobe Reader for Android except in Reflow Mode

I am using Adobe Reader for Android (on an Android table) to view some PDF reports that have hyperlinks in them. In Reflow Mode, I can see the hyperlinks as blue underlined text, as I would expect. In Continuous or Single Page mode, these hyperlinks are displayed as black boxes. The hyperlinks still work if you click on the black box. Can someone tell me what is causing this and how I can fix it?

  • Can i use adobe reader for business use?

i'm starting a computer repair business and need adobe reader for lots of pdf documents and was wandering if i can use adobe reader for business use?

Before trying to answer your question, a bit of advise: don't post your email address in a public forum such as this, as you did in the message above. I am answering to the one before that, so that you may remove your address from your last message.
As to your question, the short and frank answer is "I don't know". The long answer is that I still don't see where the free Reader comes in your making some money. For backing up files, one does not need the program used to create or open them; one can just copy and paste them, without even opening them. And while one does need Reader or Acrobat to open the PDF files and then print them, in the eyes of this complete ignorant of the pertinent laws even in my own country, you would be fully justified if you charged for your time and for the use of your computer and your printer. As I understand things, many print shops (those using presses, not printers) print from PDF files provided by their clients without even needing to ask Adobe for permission to do so.
Let's hope that someone with a better knowledge of the legal aspects of this matter reads your question.

The last Reader version issued for Unix is 9.5.5; you can download the appropriate files from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.5/enu/

  • Using Adobe Reader for PDF Files

I am having a heck of a problem using Adobe Reader to open PDF files.
Work very well until last week when I downloaded the upgrade for the program. I had been using Adobe5 (6), upgraded to Adobe Reader 9. Now, I can not open a pdf file that is sent to me. Nor, can I save a file into the PDF format.
I have done the pass word, permission thing, have removed the Adobe 9 from the hard drive and than reloaded it.
    Still have the same problems.
Does anyone have any suggestions that they would be willing to provide that might get me back into business?

Well up front I would like to thank all of you that responded, and tell you that I am sorry that I have not posted back. But, I have been trying to incorporate and to ensure that I have been following the suggestions that you have provided.
Let me provide a bit more of information:
I am trying to safe a chart from the Reunion Family program, which I have been using for a few years.
I did save one Descendant chart and was able to send it to a group of the family as a PDF file. This was using adobe 5. After I sent that chart, I upgraded the adobe 5 software to adobe reader 9. Since the upgrade I have not been able to save a chart in the Graphic File.pdf. The file saves but when I open the file it is a one page blank document. However, I can go into preferences and by changing the view size, it will show the entire document (sometimes). I tried to save that document and send it, but the people who receive it stated that it comes as a blank page. I also, saved the file as a JPEG and sent it, but the people stated that it comes as a very narrow column, unreadable, and can not be open.
I have went back and removed the installed upgrade and started from scratch, I am using the correct software package, and after uploading it, I do run the permissions program.
So, once again I am trying to obtain some knowledge on how to safe the descendant file as a PDF file and send it by e mail.
It is driving me crazy-and once again proves that the machine is much smarter than I.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Stop firefox from asking to use adobe reader for pdf's.

I have already set Firefox to use the adobe reader for pdf's. It still asks what program to use to open pdf's. Is there another setting I'm missing? IE doesn't do this. I prefer to use Firefox. It would be great to remove this nuisance.
    Thanks

I did not see a 'program' option in control panel in Win XP Pro

I,m having problems trying to file my SARS tax returns via SARS efiling on their website sarsefiling.co.za .They use adobe reader to open their documents ie EMP201 PAYE and EMP501 VAT returns
it won,t open the document in order for me to capture the company information on their website . I have mozzilla firefox as my protection for sites and emails I go through mozzilla to open adobe documents /attachments . it seems with SARS website doesn,t like this .So how do i go around trying to do my job at work . Thanks linda Desperate now ...........

I think I found a Windows setting that is causing the issue. I'm using
my LCD HDTV as the monitor for this computer, and in order to see the display easily, I have the following setting in Windows 7: Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Make text and other items larger or smaller > 150%.
When I change this to the default of 100%, the problems with Reader X in Firefox and IE disappear. Reader 9, however, works perfectly at 100% and 150%.
Is this a known bug in Reader X? Since the problem only appeared when moving from Reader 9 to Reader X, it seems it's not an unsolveable incompatability or something that's too difficult to work around.
Do any others with their displays magnified have this problem? Or does it work perfectly? Would anyone (preferably with Windows 7 64-bit) be willing to set their display magnification to 150% and see if they can replicate the problem?

  • Using Adobe Reader for android

I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader for Android, directed from login page on Practice Fusion.  Both Adobe programs now have icons on my desktop.  I cannot get beyond the login page and the "download Adobe" instruction page, although a few days ago I was able to do so.  I NEED HELP, PLEASE.

As of now, the Adobe Reader does not support comments summary.

  • Can I force Mac O/S to use Adobe Reader for a downloaded file?

We are having problems with students who use Macs downloading PDF forms from our website and then saving them from Preview instead of Reader.  There is a known bug in Preview on the Mac O/S, in that it corrupts PDF forms when it saves them.  So when these students upload, the files don't work properly.  I would like to do something (perhaps setting a special MIME type?) that would force the Safari browser to open the file using Adobe Reader instead of Preview.  Is there a way to do this?

As Michael says, no. However you can go into each computer while no students in the Room/Lab open a Group of PDF and from finder choose Get summary info.  then click on open with and choose Acrobat or Reader.
    see this: http://www.screencast.com/t/rUKY3wdeEq
Now click on the button below with title Change All then quit out of get info.
Now when they download and open PDF's  they will automatically open with Reader.
You have to select a group of at least 5 or 6.  And make sure any saved PDF have a mix of PDF icons (Adobe and preview).
    Do with each computer affected.

  • Firefox will not use Adobe Reader for viewing PDFs

No matter how many times I am forced to manually browse the Adobe folder and select "Acrobat Reader 11" as my default application to handle PDF documents, Firefox never keeps that setting. In addition, Adobe Reader is never even a choice in the "Open with..." Browse button. When I try to let it use Adobe Acrobat (I have the CS6 Master Collection installed) with a rendered PDF, it doesn't even launch the application. I know those may be separate issues, but they are both equally frustrating PDF errors.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.
You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu.

  • IPad gets unusually heat up while using adobe reader for few minutes.

I Am using ipad air wifi and cellular and it gets heat up to an extent that I can't hold it for long. Also a PDF file leads to crashing of Adobe reader frequently, say in every two minutes. Please help. I have the latest version of Adobe reader... And iOS 7.0

iPad Air's appear to be susceptible to frequent crashes.
First, you could try turning off some of iOS features (such as Spotlight Search, Background App Refresh), which can consume a lot of memory and CPU time.
    Help: Frequent crashes on iOS
This document also describes how to restart your iOS device.  However, please note the steps described in the document are not the solutions to your crash problem.  They are just workarounds.
Would you describe what you were doing when Reader crashed?  Selecting or highlighting text, filling in form fields, scrolling pages, or anything else?
Would you send the Reader crash logs on your iPad Air to [email protected] as email attachments?  If possible, please send us the PDF document(s) that you used at the point of crash as well.

  • I have used Adobe Photoshop for some time and want to continue with it. Would I be wise to uninstall iphoto before installing adobe on my new Mac?

I have loaded about 100 pictures into iPhoto on my new Mac (old PC user) but now am certain that I want to continue with Adobe Photoshop which I have used for quite some time. Should I uninstall iPhoto completely as well as removing the IPhoto Library? Please tell me how best to proceed so as to avoid conflicts.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

I currently have Elements 9, but as I said I am a complete novice on the Mac.
When I bought the Mac, I had all of my photos already on an external hd for securitiy purposes, and have since moved them onto the Mac hard drive. I have not yet imported them into iPhoto, although, as I mentioned above I have loaded some pix into iPhoto from a camera just to see how it works. Also I have not yet installed Elements 9 on the Mac.
If I use IPhoto as the program to upload from the camera, do the photos go directly into iPhoto Library?
Does the library function the same as my storing them in My Pictures/My Documents, etc on a pc? Can I move pictures about within the iPhoto Library?
What is the advantage of using both programs simultaneously? If, as TeenTitan mentions above, I could put iPhoto back into the applications folder and not use it at all, and then use Elements 9 as the total package, what features, etc., would I lose?
If I choose to move iPhoto into the app folder, is it a simple matter or dragging it back? If not, how should I do it?
Thanks for your patience. I just want to get off to a clean start with my pictures.

  • I am taking college classes online and my instructors are using adobe reader for their presentations.  Through safari..I am getting visual but no audio, and through google chrome..I am getting neither

How come I am not getting audio with my adobe reader.  I have downloaded it and removed it several times but still I am not getting any sound.

I believe both of those browsers use their own plug-in for pdf files.
You can fix that. Here's how for Chrome: Adobe PDF plug-in - Chrome Help
    Safari: Troubleshoot Safari plug-in | Acrobat X, Reader X
