I have version 7 itunes but 8 wont install why? please help
I also am trying to install itune 8 and im not sure what version itunes I have. I install itunes 8 ( well at least it seems like it) and I get the finished popup and than I restart my comp. and It open itunes and I plug in a new nano chromatic and it says I need itunes version 8.0 what the problem here please help me
and if i remove itunes totally will i lose all of my music?

First, in order to check which version of iTunes is installed, launch iTunes and from the Help Menu, choose "About iTunes." This will show you which version is installed. If it is not 8.0.2.20, and you did not get any specific error messages when installing iTunes, then try the steps in this article:

Removing and reinstalling iTunes will not remove your music. The music is stored in your User's folder (or on whatever drive you have your music stored on) and is separate from the program itself.
If you follow the article and are getting any error messages not mentioned there, post the entire error message here and it will help isolate the cause of the issue.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -

For some reason when I go to update my old itunes version (10.6.3) it wont let me get the new itunes11. I need a newer version of itunes but when I go on my computer to download and get things updated it says it has no new updates. Please help me. I recently got a new laptop fro Christmas and i have begun to sync all my music and apps etc onto my new laptop. However, music that i have previously purchased on my iphone will not sync to my current laptop. I have tried 'transfer purchases' but only some have transfered, i still have over 200 songs to import and they won't transfer from my iphone to my laptop. Please help, it is very irritating. Thanks.
Unless the iPhone was purchased as unlocked very recently directly from an Apple Store (the only place in the US where unlocked iPhones are sold, and then only since June), which from the symptoms I doubt is the case, then it was locked to AT&T and jailbroken to make it work with an Irish cell carrier. Updating the operating system has now relocked the iPhone back to AT&T.
Only the cell carrier can institute an official unlock, one which will hold across updates of the operating system, and AT&T will not do so for any reason. All we can advise here is that you return the iPhone to your uncle and purchase an iPhone there in Ireland.

Ok here's my situation.
Im using a MacBook Pro (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5)
iTunes 11.4 (64Bit)
iPod 4th Gen. (White 20GB 'Click-Wheel')
After doing a system restore on my ancient dinosaur ipod 4th gen. (the white 20GB 'Click Wheel') and 'upgrading' to iTunes 11 i've had nothing but problems.
So now when i plug in my ipod it charges fine and even say's "Do Not Disconnect" *BUT* there is no 'on my ipod' button. I cant see my playlists, add songs, delete songs or anything! I just want to 'DOWNGRADE' my itunes and have everything how it was before. I find this to be a science project in itself and no amount of searching youtube videos gave me a clear answer, it only made me more afraid and confused of going forward with this.
I tried downloading 'sharepod' for MacBook Pro but this is pointless because it needs itunes to recognize the ipod for it to recognize the ipod. Ehh.
I did a 'system restore' on the ipod but when i went home where all my music is (on a windows PC) it said i have to do the restore again because it was restored on a MAC. So i did the restore again on my Windows PC (put all my music on it) and now i want to add songs from my MACBOOK Pro and its not even recognizing my ipod. Arrrgh the frustration i tell you!
Im done doing the system restore and i just want to add playlists now. Why is this soo difficult? Someone please help a newbie out. Im great with computers and feel like i honestly should have never upgraded the itunes in the first place because i feel this is what is causing my problem. I've heard the older gen. ipods dont work as well with the newer versions of itunes although im not sure if there is any truth to that or is it just rumors. Either way can somebody please take me on a step by step of what to do next? Please with a cherry on top?I guess nobody else has had this problem?
Does anybody know if you can e-mail apple direct to express how useless their services are or even to try to get an explanation from them of how to correct the problem before i throw their ipod in the bin? -
My Computer will not let me open itunes at all. It tells me that the itunes libary can not be read because it was created by a newer version.
If you still have an issue you may have to see about using the iTunes version (application) included with Snow Leopard 10.6 from the installer or an another one if available online, and see if that will install.
Sometimes you may have uninstall the bits left in your system by the earlier (or later) iTunes installers; as they all leave a trace and these can stop a different version of iTunes from being installed.
