I have wi fi but cannot connect to any web pages
I am having trouble connecting to the internet. I have the i pad 2 and all was fine with the internet up an till now, i have full wi fi signal but am unable to connect to any web pages, ive tried reseting network settings. My other computers in the home are connecting ok so thats why im thinking there is something wrong with the i pad.
What exactly happens when you try to connect? Do you get any message, pop up?

IPod touch G3 won't connect to any wireless network. The device can locate and recognize all the networks around including signal strenght and whether or not they are secured. If the networks are secured a password is prompted for as expected. Still the message: "Unable to join the network "[network name]"" is displayed. I've been researching this for a while now with no luck. Here's what I've tried:
Verified wifi is on
Verified wifi password
Reset network settings on IPod
Reset all settings on IPod
Updated to latest iOS release
Restored to the earliest release possible iOS
Complete wipe and setup as new iPod Touch
Reset wireless router
Verified other iDevices can connect to the Wifi (MacBook, second iPod Touch (G3), Iphone, etc.)
Tested on additional wireless (public) networks around town
Verified WPA is active and works with iPod Touch
Manually entered all IP settings for specific wireless network (dns, subnet, ip, etc.)
None of the above have produced anything than the original error: "Unable to join the network "[network name]""You did an excellent job at troubleshooting and telling us what you did. My only suggestion is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you covered all the items that I wold suggest.

Reboot your router by powering it down for 30 seconds. Power off your iPad.
Power up your router and make sure it completes its startup and acquires a good connection to the Internet. Then power up your iPad. Go to settings > Wi-Fi then select your Wi-Fi network and tap on Forget this Network. Then let the iPad try to connect again. Be sure any required password is entered correctly. -
Using wireless internet on macbook...its says i'm connected but cant pull up any web pages
I'm staying with a friend, using her internet connection wirelessly, worked fine for 2 days, now my macbook says I'm connected to the internet, but can't get any webpages to pull up at all. It just says connecting....them request timed out try again. I've logged out, logged back in...no luck, took out battery, no luck...help please!

Look at the IP address in your Network preference pane under AirPort and TCP/IP. Does the IP address start with 169? -
I can load Firefox, and get all the bars and acknowledgment itis running but I get a error message that the webpage is unavailable, all web pages, Safariis the same way. This is on my Dell Desk top, but not a problem with HP mini and using the same Internet access.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Firefox 4.0.1 will not connect to any web pages
I have checked my proxy settings as well as reinstalled firefox and i continue to get this error:
"The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
I can load web pages in any other browser but not firefox.That is a problem with the code on that page.<br />
You can see that in the View > Page Source as red text.

Hi there helpers, I was on my iMac this morning and everything was fine. I could open any browsers and it could load pages very fast, but after I downloaded and tried to install Xquartz ( recommended by apple) I went on my browser again any tried to open Facebook but it didn't work all it said on the browser was NO DATA RECEIVED. I thought it was only Facebook so I tried google but it wasn't, it was all of the websites. So I'm not sure if I've accidentally downloaded a virus or malware. By the way I use google chrome to do the things above but I did do it again in safari. Thanks

You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Prior to this, it was vice-versa, Internet Explorer was blank and couldn't connect to any web page, after Firefox was activated. When a virus disfunction with Firefox came up, we uninstalled it, installed it again, and it worked fine, with Internet Explorer not working again. When a friend made an adjustement and made it work, we discovered later, that Firefox had the problem of not connecting now.

i am trying to connect to my friend's wifi, i have a very strong signal indicated on my ipad, but cannot connect to the internet. Yesterday i connected without any problem, can anybody tell me why i cannot connect today?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I have a Power PC G4 which is running on OSX 10.5.8, it has the AirPort utility but cannot connect to the internet as my iMac can, I think I might need an AirPort Card? Is that the case or do I need something different to connect to a wireless modem?

Only one variant of the PowerMac G4 could use the faster Airport Extreme Card. The rest used the original Airport card that is pretty slow.

However, all PowerMac G4 towers had only slower USB 1.1 ports, so any USB wireless adaptor can only run at about wireless 'B" speeds (slow) unless you also install a PCI USB 2.0 adaptor card. Your post is somewhat confusing. To restore your iPad you use the iTunes application on your computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in the left column of iTunes on your computer and select General in the right column. You should find the restore choice there.

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
