I have windows 7 installed under bootcamp. Will updating to Lion affect it?

As the topic says ^^

Shouldn't have a problem, but when you download the Lion installer, don't install it right away.
Click on the icon in the Dock and "Show in Finder" then right click on that and "show package contents"
Read here to copy the dmg installer, make multiple copies and burn disks in Disk Utility, you can then hold c and reboot off the installer disk and use disk utility and install Lion, it's faster than a internet download install from the Recovery partition that needs your id and all that to be current.

Can i install windows 7 via bootcamp (on my MB Air) while using remote disc? I put the windows 7 disk in my macbook pro drive, and connect to my brand new macbook air via remote disk. In bootcamp (on my air) i allocate the partition, then i click install, and bootcamp will not see the disk from my macbook pro's drive. How do i get the bootcamp assistant running on my MB air to automatically find the disk in my macbook pro with the ISO image of windows 7? The remote disk on my air can find the cd but bootcamp will not begin installing it. Anyway to do this without buying the damned usb drive?

I don't know first hand if you can use the Remote Disk option with Windows but as of 10.7.2 you can now use BCAssistant to make a bootable USB (thumb drive or external disk) W7 installer with the Boot Camp drivers installed also. Have you tried that yet?

WIndows can't find a better one than the installed LSI Conformed 1394 Hostcontroller

Read and follow the Bootcamp Installation instructions that you were offered to view when you ran Bootcamp Assistant.
Run Bootcamp Assistant again and select the option to download the Bootcamp Support software. Follow the instructions. Then boot into Windows and install the Windows Support software you downloaded and saved.

can i download windows to install with bootcamp or do i have to buy a physical CD to get windows on a macbook pro?

As your MBP has an optical drive you must install from a disc, not an iso on a stick. The previous advice is incorrect.
Purchase the version of Windows you want on a disk. If you already bought an iso burn it to a disc.

I shoot with a Canon 7D, have Windows 7 installed on my computer, Adobe CS4 (Bridge & Photoshop). I'm trying to open the CR2 files in Bridge to adjust them before I open them up in Photoshop, but it's giving me an error code saying it's the wrong file type. I downloaded the latest updates for Adobe Raw as well as the DNG converter, however I don't want to have to convert to DNG before opening in Bridge. Please let me know what I can do to open the CR2 files directly in Bridge CS4, thank you!

  • I have Windows 8.1 and Itunes will not recognise either my Ipad, Ipone or Ipod

I have Windows 8.1 and Itunes will not recognise my Ipad, Iphone or Ipod even though it did so in Windows 7

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

  • Currently using Fusion, can I use same Window's install for Bootcamp?

I would like to delete Fusion and go with Bootcamp only. Seems like Bootcamp will run better. Fusion is slow. I have an old (over 3 years) version and it does work OK, but I want to do bootcamp now.
I have tried to update fusion and that site is a joke.
Being that Windows in my MacBook Air already, can I somehow make it my Bootcamp partitioned drive? Or do I have to re-install it all?
    Thanks!

Thanks. I am going to back up the few important things and then completely erase it all.
Then enjoy the process of Bootcamp install via the superdrive.
Any advice for that? It has been years since I did it (on this mac) and I recall the superdrive made it difficult.
Has this been worked out? Any advice?
    Thanks!

  • I have windows 7 installed in imac. It sometimes starts up and sometimes it hangs on the windows logo.

I have installed my windows using bootcamp. I don't now why is happening. I have scanned for viruses. Updated windows. Windows behaves like it is very moody, it has own wish whether it wants to startup or not.

You did not mention  how you have Windows installed on your computer, however lets get tot he point. There are 2 major methods, using Boot Camp or virtualizaiton software such as Parallels or Fusion. Either way, you should post in those forums. If you use Boot Camp then post in the Boot Camp forum, if you use Virtualization app then navigate to their forums and post your question there.
    Good luck.

  • Have Windows 7 installed. Can't install a Craft software program.

My son gave me his old Mac, approximately 6-8 years old. The mac recognizes everything on the disk.  It will not install the software. Plenty of space to install.  I did try manually installing, setup.exe, but nothing happens. Suggestins?

A .exe file is a Windows executable file. It will not run on Apple computers. Go to the software developer's site and see if they have an Apple version of the software.

At present I have windows based programs installed using parallels 7 on my Imac. I now wish to delete all the Windows programs etc and revert the Hard Drive to its original setting i.e single partition. How do I go about it??

It's not clear if you installed Windows in a virtual machine or you installed Windows in Boot Camp but you run it in Parallels.
If you installed Windows in Boot Camp, open "Boot Camp Assistant" (it's in /Applications/Utilities) and follow the steps to restore your hard disk into one volume. If you installed Windows on a virtual machine, just open Parallels and delete the virtual machine where you have installed Windows
