On my IPad, the books I have downloaded are there; however, the text has disappeared. It only happened with the books that were older. Any idea how I can get the text back on these books?
Try closing the iBooks app. Press the home button to get to the home screen if you're not already there. Then double click the home button. Locate the iBooks icon at the bottom. Hold your finger down on it until a red minus appears. Tap the red minus. Press the home button to return to normal. Then relaunch iBooks.
If that fails, delete the books, then you can redownload them under the Purchased tab in "Store." -
I bought myself a new MacBook Pro and migrated everything from a Time Capsule/Time Machine migration. My previous computer was slowly dying so I had backed it up although it was running Mavericks. I migrated everything to the new computer from a Time Machine backup - all my photos and files are there - but in iPhoto, the videos (taken with a camera as .MOV files which usually appear in iPhoto) are appearing as blank icons. When I click on them, I get the error message, "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -54.)" and the video doesn't play or appear. The video does, however, appear when I click on "Reveal in Finder - Original File" - so the files are there - they just aren't being compatible with my iPhoto in Yosemite.
Any idea why?Do you still have access to the old system? If so drag the iPHtoo library on the new system to the desktop and Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) or use an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

Before Resetting the SMC
Try each of the following steps in this order before you reset the SMC. Test the issue after completing each troubleshooting step to determine if the issue still occurs.
Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Restart your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
Shut down your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.

Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.

Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.

Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

I am trying to drag and drop one page of a .pdf into another .pdf in Acrobat Reader. I used to be able to drag and drop from one .pdf to another.
If you could drag and drop pages before, it wasn't in Reader. You no doubt had Adobe Acrobat (Pro or Standard) which shouldn't be confused with Adobe Acrobat Reader. They recently added Acrobat to the name of Adobe Reader so the confusion about which product you had and/or have is understandable.

Dear Apple. I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit full version Home Premium using Bootcamp and cannot get access to the internet. I installed on a Macbook Air Mid 2012 with Mountain Lion. Are there some drivers that are missing from the Windows 7 bootcamp install download from Apple
It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly. -
When I sync my iphone with Windows 7, the contact moves to my computer, but the contact is not complete. No phone numbers. What am I doing wrong? I have also tried sync-ing with Yahoo, and that doesn't work either.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer. -
Lost all contact info. All my Aps are there but all the data/progress is missing. When I plug my iphone into the usb fto synch up with my itunes on the computer a message comes up and says "enter the password to unlock your iphone backup file". This is very frustrating
I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two. Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

I shoot with a Canon 7D, have Windows 7 installed on my computer, Adobe CS4 (Bridge & Photoshop). I'm trying to open the CR2 files in Bridge to adjust them before I open them up in Photoshop, but it's giving me an error code saying it's the wrong file type. I downloaded the latest updates for Adobe Raw as well as the DNG converter, however I don't want to have to convert to DNG before opening in Bridge. Please let me know what I can do to open the CR2 files directly in Bridge CS4, thank you!

I have a slide with 6 smart shapes that I am using as buttons. If I select include in quiz, the On Success branch does not execute. If I deselect include in quiz, the On Success branch executes. What am I missing?
What setting do you have in Quiz > Settings > Required? If it's not set to Optional, do that.

Windows 8 comes with Flash Player built in (for Internet Explorer). If you run WIndows Update, it should update your Flash Player Plugin for IE.
