I have Windows XP and have tried everything to make Firefox my default browser can not. What do I do, short of deleting Internet Explorer?

I have followed all the instructions Mozilla provides in its Help section but somehow I can not break the link between Windows and Internet Explorer.

I have the same problem but the solution Wendyz99 did has not been successful for me. Part of the itunes store loads on the right side where the tabs for Quick Links and Top Charts are but the center section of the page is white. Also if I click on a song that is in the top chart area it will take me to the page but I'm not able to purchase the song or preview the song.
I feel I have tried all the solutions I can find on line and even had conversations with apple tech with no help.
I have down loaded the Autoruns program and in the winstock providers I have Bonjour and Microsoft Windows Live ID Namespace Provider. I have removed Windows Live and this still does not resolve the problem. I am at a complete loss. I am running windows 7, 32bit. Someone please help!

Open Computer from the Start menu.
From the Organize menu, choose Folder and Search Options.
Click the View tab.
In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders," make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
Click OK.
Navigate to the following location by either typing it into the address bar, copying and pasting it into the address bar, or clicking through the folder hierarchy listed:C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes
Right-click the SC Info folder shown and on the shortcut menu, choose Delete.
Restart the computer.

How do I make Firefox the default browser in a non-administrative Windows XP account, where clicking to do so has no effect?

I have two accounts for myself on my PC running Windows XP. In the administrative account, Firefox is already the default browser that opens when I double-click an HTML file, etc. Firefox knows it's the default browser there.
In my other account, every time I start Firefox, it tells me it's not the default browser. Clicking there to make it the default, or in the options, does nothing.
When I go to Set Program Access and Defaults in the administrative account, "Use my current Web browser" is selected. Mozilla Firefox is not listed as an option. In my non-administrative account, the Add or Remove Programs control panel can't be used. It says I don't have permission.

To check that in the other account you would have to give it temporarily administrator permissions.

HT6001 I have windows 8 and have tried to download iTunes in my computer. It popped up with this was 32bit you need 64 so I redid it. After words all I get is the error bell because it can not find the path it tries to install it in?

the path it keeps trying is c/user/(my name)/iTunes64.msi with some other crap. I can't get shrink pic to work with mozilla firefox. I have windows XP and it used to work but no longer does. Can you please help?

Up until about a month ago I was able to shrink my photos with shrink pic. I use yahoo for my emails and since they did an update I can no longer shrink my photos using Mozilla Firefox. I thought this was a yahoo problem but yesterday I tried Internet Explorer with yahoo and shrink pic is working in their format. Can you please help?

It sounds like you are running the student edition which comes with a
textbook and doesn't support external code such as DLLs, CINs, or
ActiveX. You might want to check with others at your university and see
about getting access to an academic edition or a
full edition.

I have windows 7 and have been using Firefox for the last several months and now I can' open it up for some reason.

I've been using firefox as my principle browser for quite some time. I normally just click on it once and it opens to the home page with google search in the middle of the page. I downloaded some e-mail attachment about a job and that's when it seemed to act up. I ran a scan on my computer and it says there is no problems but I still can't open up Firefox home page by clicking on the fox/world icon.
