I having trouble installing Adobe even after tempararily disabling my anti-virus software, please advise

Whenever I go to view a video, e.i. YouTube, I get a message stating that I need to upgrade my Adobe. The system re-directs me to the page where I'm able to download and install but I still get the same message when I try to view any videos. I disabled my anti-virus software, re-booted the computer, opened a new page, only to get the same message. I've tried repeatedly to get the desired results but to no avail. Everything else is great. Please help. Most of my homework is in video-format.

Flash Player Protected Mode provides a modern, sophisticated set of security protections that we see as critical in today's security landscape.
We highly recommend that users not disable ProtectedMode.  Also, it's worth noting that by manually changing your mms.cfg, you have opted out of Protected Mode for all future versions of Flash Player, as we will continue to honor that preference. This puts your system at risk, and that risk will continue to grow over time.
Ultimately, this is an issue with the RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in.  There is a more technical explanation in the Mozilla bug referenced above in the thread, but the simplified version is that the security enhancements designed to prevent the introduction of malware via Flash Player make RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in no longer compatible with Flash Player for Firefox.  You can disable the record functionality to eliminate this issue, while retaining the ability to view both Flash and Real Player content.
To disable the Real Player Browser Record functionality while maintaining the enhanced security provided by Flash Player with Protected Mode, do the following:
    Launch RealPlayer
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner of the window, and choose Preferences
Choose Download & Recording from the left-hand menu
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browser"
    Click OK

I am having trouble opening Adobe Reader after I install it in my Safari. I have installed reader about 10 times now and it says I can use it now, but when I try to open a file it tells me I need to launch Reader and Agree to terms. I really need to use it now for school. Please help. Thank you, Heather

You need to open Reader outside of Safari Start>All programs and accept the agreement.

  • Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro?

Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5?

Thanks for your help here is what I did so far!
I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it, I've tried restarting my browser, then my MacBook Pro without any success!
When I click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and open System Preferences I can see Adobe Flash Player on the bottom under the Other section.
If I open Adobe up and check the version it tells me that I have the most recent version!
I even uninstalled Adobe and installed the newest Beta version, but Adobe is still not working! If I check for the latest version it tells me that I do have the latest beta version, but it still doesn't work!
If the person who made the video used any other video player it works!
Their player, plays the video without a problem!

  • Having trouble installing Adobe Reader 8, know it's outdated, job requires it. System is Windows 7

having trouble installing Adobe Reader 8, know it's outdated, job requires it. System is Windows 7 Home Premium. Thank you.

You may see if there are solutions in this old thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3063830
Although that combination isn't supported, many people have made it work.
Why would a job require Reader 8? All older files are compatible with newer versions. Or at least they should be.

  • Is anyone else having trouble installing Adobe Reader X (10.0.1)?

Is anyone else having trouble installing Adobe Reader X (10.0.1)? When I download through Firefox and click, it starts, then says "main dialogue" not loaded.

What kind of trouble? What platform and version of OS? Any error messages? How are you trying to install Reader? Any previous versions of Reader and/or Acrobat installed?

You'll continue to have trouble, because...
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store.
These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

Having trouble installing adobe flash player on my mac

See: How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X
Unless you're using an older (PPC) Mac with OS 10.5 or older, those instructions should work.

  • Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed

Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed.  I've tried quitting Safari.  Have not uninstalled currently Adobe as yet.  How to fix?

Sorry, when I try to install Flash Player 17.0.0.134, it will begin initialing, then stop saying "Installation Failed" and to press "Finish".  It then directs me to troubleshooting.  I made sure I quit Safari as per their instructions, but have not gone as far as "uninstalling" my current Flash Player 16.0.0.305, because it looks like I will screw something up in the process.
    Hope that information helps.

Having trouble installing adobe  on my macbook pro, can anybody help ???

You may be able to load the OS from your other MBP disks, if they are the same modal MBP...
You could also do a clone of your other MBP to the blank one, use Carbon Copy Coner and a FireWire cable.

  • I have installed Microsoft Office, do I now need anti virus software

I have installed Microsoft Office on my Macbook Air, do I now need to install a suitable anti virus software?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Of course not. It's still safe to use your Mac without an antivirus. OS X has got its own security systems, so you don't need any antivirus. If you want more information about Mac OS X and viruses, see > http://www.thesafemac.com/mmg
If you want an antivirus, download ClamXav or Sophos, but you don't need them. I only recommend them if you have files you will transfer to a PC
