I having trouble with a scrolling page......where i have a video. the pages between the video and the previous page jumps and show a gap between the pages.....i'm not sure if it is the spped or what?

I keep getting a gap between scrolling pages of a video and a regular page. Not sure why. I keep adjusting the speed, but still I get a gap in the pages as it scrolls. Thanks.

Hello cor-el, I apologize for not letting you know if your suggestions about my question worked or not. I came down with pneumonia and then caught the flu on top of that. Today I tried what you had suggested about disabling the hardware acceleration and it didn't make any difference. You had also gave me a link to he article about plug-ins and when I clicked on the list of the current plug-ins I have the following is what came up:

When I then clicked to see if there were updates available, the only one that it said was updated was the Shockwave Flash. The Windows Media Plug In Dynamic Link Library, said the status was vulnerable and the other three said the status was unknown. Does any of this make sense to you and are there things that should be on the plug in list that aren't? I apologize for the length of my post but I wanted to give you as much information as possible. The new AirPort Extreme needs the 6.x version of AirPort Utility, which comes packed in with Lion 10.7.5 or Mountain Lion 10.8.x......or......you can also configure the device using an iPhone or iPad running a recent iOS.
From Apple's Specifications:
Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
A few options.....
Borrow another Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion for 10-15 minutes and set it up. The Mac running 10.5.8 will be able to connect to the wireless....but it will not be able to make any changes to the configuration of the Extreme.
Update to Lion or Mountain Lion.....but check first to make sure that your Mac will support the operating system first.
Use....or borrow an iPhone or iPad to set up the Extreme

I am also having trouble with my cursor freezing after installing Mavericks. Never did it before. I called tech support at Apple and they had me restart computer and mouse together from a complete shut down. So far has seemed to work.

They suggested a complete shut down of computer and turning off mouse. Then a reboot and turn on mouse. So far iit has seemed to work. Hope this continues??

I think you can solve your problems by removing your AppleID email address from BOTH the Messages setting on your iPhone and the iMessages settings on your Mac.
On iPhone:
Settings > Messages > iMessage > Dissabled
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > touch the "(i)" < touch "Remove This Email"
On Mac:
Open "Messages" application
Click "Messages menu > Preferences
Click "Accounts"
Select your AppleID account
Under the "You can be reached for messages at" settings, uncheck your AppleID email address and your phone number
Then uncheck the "Enable this account" setting
And lastly, ask all of your friends with iPhones to delete all iMessage conversations (blue bubbles) in their entirety.
To test, send a friend a new text using their phone number (not their email address) and watch the color of the bubble. If it's green then you are using SMS.

I'm having a similar problem, but different circumstances. Someone gave me their iPod nano to load with tunes. I, myself, don't own an iPod, and the flimsy booklet that came with this device is pointless -- no real info. Anyway, once it was charged, I chose tunes from my library to upload to the iPod, but the entire library began to load (not just the checked selections). I made several attempts to resolve this, including an attempt to restore the iPod to its original settings. Unfortunately, now the computer and iTunes will not recognize this iPod (when iTunes is open and iPod is connected, iPod does not appear in source list, and desktop only reads the device as "iPod", as opposed to what it was originally reading it as) and I can't even get back to the part of iTunes that asks me if I want to restore the iPod. Do I have to bring this to an Apple store, or is there anyone out there who can tell me how to resolve this? I tried the "5 R's" recommended by Apple, but they don't seem to work.

Having trouble with international sim. Purchased phone unlocked, no contract from Apple store in Australia. Living in Denmark now and phone won't accept Danish sims. Guys in phone shop say phone is actually locked. Any hints would be welcome.

Software updates have been done regularly. They think that it shouldn't come up "connect to iTunes" when the Danish sim is installed.

Yes - it was from a proper Apple Store.
I only purchased the unit - no special requests and then went to O2 and hooked up with a scolling monthly sim.
I used that sim for about 6 months and then moved out here. I took on two PAYG sims, one for Qatar and one for UAE but neither are accepted.
When connect to my mbp, the phone screen shows the iphone connect cable and iTunes picks it up. The message then says " must insert original sim to register" My point - the original sim, was completely independant from the phone but I cant get past this point to do anything further.
Any thoughts?

Having trouble with browser scrolling and master volume key

I just got a Blackberry 9350 and I've run into some trouble. My master volume and mute key doesn't work at all. Scrolling up and down on some web pages doesn't work but works when not on the browser. I've tried messing with settings and turning the phone off and on. Any help would be appreciated!

IE6 has many, many bugs: double margins bug, the 3px gap bug and expanding box bug.
As a test, increase your #container width to 790 or 800px and see if that makes IE6 behave.
As for the other IE browsers, you have conditional comments in your page that adds 30px of top padding to your #sidebar1. Try adjusting or deleting that.

You probably have some bad third-party software that is conflicting with Lion. Can you post one of the kernel panic logs?

When you use TimeMachine to back up a Mac notebook the local backups feature is automatically enabled. The local backup is just like a TimeMachine backup but it is done to the internal drive rather than an external. The important thing about local backups is that the feature is smart - as you need more drive space for your own data and applications, TimeMachine automatically culls the local backup to give you that needed space. So yes, it will look like you have very little drive space left and that the backup is 'robbing' you of needed GBs. But it really isn't.

I recently bought a macbook for college, and I am having trouble with my e-mail. I have an account on outlook express that works well, and i just wanted to know if there is any way that I could access it from this laptop.
I am going to college and they send me important stuff, so I need that address. If it is not possible then what kind of e-mail address should i make (yahoo, etc.)

OK, from the sound of your post, you have a limited knowledge about email. Let me see if I can help. I would guess that you have a Windows machine that you have used in the past. Your email address must be a "pop" address. That means that your internet service provider has a server where your mail is sent. This is different than a web mail address, that is accessed remotely with a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. You must then be using an email program, such as Outlook Express, to go get the email onto your local machine. Any email program can do this. Open up the accounts tab in Outlook Express, and write down the settings. There will be one for the incoming server, and one for the outgoing server. Now, on your Mac, you can use the email program provided, such as Mac Mail, and put the settings in there. You can now send and receive to your Mac using your supplied email address. You can use another program such as Thunderbird to do this if you want. You don't have to use Mac Mail.
Getting your old email off of the Windows computer is a bit harder, so hopefully you don't need to do that. But if you do, I can direct you on how to do that also.
