I heard some rumour that service policy is being changed so that USA purchased unlocked phones can be serviced in USA

I have a problem with my iphone 5( IOS 7.0.4) purchased in USA( as unlocked via applestore) and i did all troubleshooting steps like reboot, restart, restore etc but it keeps crashing. My phone is not under warranty
I am suffering big time as i dont have any service options in India.AASC refuses to service USA phones in India. They are asking me to take it back to USA and get it repaired in USA. I dont have friends or family members who would be travelling to US.
I dont understand why apple has to put such restrictions on service? Many customers suffer because nobody is available to listen to customer problems and provide solutions. Apple Service Reps are like Parrots repeating the same thing rather than escalate a service issue and try to get a solution.
Can you please confirm if the service policies are modified to avail service in India for iphone purchased in USA( as unlocked)?

Rumor and speculation are prohibited by the terms of service.
Until and unless Apple makes an announcement otherwise, it is false. If you have a phone from the US that needs serviced, you will have to take it back to the US or send it to someone you know there to have it serviced.
