I hooked up my ipod color to a windows 8.1 and now it does not work.

After my computer was upgraded to windows 8.1 and the latest version of Itunes was installed. I hooked up my Ipod Color to the USB port to re-sync the Ipod, Itunes wanted to format the drive before I could use it on the computer. After Itunes got done with it, the Ipod did not work. How do I fix the programming on the Ipod so it will work again?

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

I updated to ios6 and now imessege does not work, and my dock says "ipod touch is not supported by this accessory, what happened??

i was using imessege all the time, working perfectly, and my dock is what u played music on and charged my ipod on every night, then after i updated it, none of it works anymore???

Dock - The same thing is "sorta" happening with a belkin charger that I have. It'll say that charging is not supported wij this accessory, and I can't use the Belkin cord any longer. I have to use my apple one. I think that means that the dock software is now "outdated" and can't charge your iPod anymore.

Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
- If no, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Could be a lot of reasons. First try to print a supplies status page- If that prints with color on it, you have a driver problem.

Hey, we are having exactly the same problem! My old ipod died a slow death so I bought a new nano 16gb 4th gen and I can't use it as itunes isn't recognising any ipod being plugged into it. I've been through the whole support database and every USB port is working on the laptop, so I know the computer is recognising its there its just itunes itself - even removed and downloaded it again but no change! How long did you hold these buttons for? Did you try more than once? Have you tried letting it charge for a bit and trying again?

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
