Hello Kappy - Thank you for persevering with my printer issues. Firstly, I use Firefox, recently updated & as yet have not discovered how to monitor downloads. The software for HP Laserjet 2200 was eventually automaticallly, and therefore correctly, installed.The Add Printer Pane accessed via the + button in the Printer & Scanner window is blank - the Name & Location and Print Using & Add areas are all grayed out, therefore I can't locate the printer driver even though it is in the Printer folder. I messed around with HP Direct Protocol & Line Daemon functions, entering my IP address, just to see if I could locate the printer driver - I could. However, I get a pop-up window which says 'Unable to verify the printer on your network' but it gives me the option of going ahead anyway, which I did. I was able to create a print queue, able to give a print command, the printer window opens, but the printer appears as 'busy', but of course it's not printing. To look at the issue from another perspective: previously I was running 10.5.8 on my old Power Mac G5 and a week before I shifted over the iMac I paused the printer but when tried to resume printing I got a pop-up message saying IPadmin > enter administrator name + password. Which of course I couldn't do - I discovered this was a bug afflicting10.5 & 10.6 operating systems; the only way I could get around it was by re-creating myself as a new administrator, which I did, and got the printer going again. So, if I have a "Network" printer perhaps there's another route to get the driver recognized... What do you think?

11.0.10 Update Issue - Problem saving documents - getting message "This document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (21)." The PDF documents are being created by Esker VSIFax and the problem is only occuring with updated vers

Our IBM Unix system uses a program called VSIFax (Esker) to create PDF documents such as invoices. Users that have updated to Acrobat version 11.0.10 can open the PDF but then when trying to save the document the get a message "This document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (21)." The problem is only occuring with updated version 11.0.10 (11.0.9 works fine).

A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... then download the base install for Adobe Reader 11.0.
Then download each of the individual updates and run them sequentially.
I've installed back up to the last security update which is version 08 and have been able to do normal Save As operations.
You will have to disable automatic updates in order to stay at version 08 until Adobe resolves this issue in a later release.

Reader X not found after successful install

I have attempted to install Reader X, I simply run the default install package.
During the install I get this error:
Error 1327.Invalid Drive: Q:\
There is no Q drive on my system.
I hit Ok and I get Installation Complete and I'm directed to the Installation successful webpage.
However I can't find Reader X anywhere on my system. PDFs are instead still opened by PDF-XChange PDF Viewer (which I wanto get rid of but can't until I have another working PDF reader.)
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.
Any thoughts?

You may want to try the following:
Run this fix from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Uninstall Reader using Add/Remove Programs
If you want to reinstall Reader, download it from http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/

Help adobe reader listed as installed but can not open file

I need to open a file from email. It says adobe reader not installed but it shows it is installed when I look in control panel. Thanks for any help you can shre..

1.Which OS you are using?
2.What version of Reader is shown in in control panel?
Just try re installing Reader from Adobe website and report any issue you face during installation.

I definitivly thing a found a REAL problem on the current ipod software...
(I spent quite a large amount of time checking, so I hope it wont be useless...)
I have (my iPod Has) problems reading files that have been encoded in AAC format using :
- iTunes v 4.0, 4.1 and 4.1
with
- Quicktime 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4.
(The problem seems to be resolved from version 4.2 or iTunes (quicktime 6.5))
These files can be read by Itunes, Quicktime player but my iPod just skips them !
I ALSO tried to read them on a collegue ipod (same model) and the problem is still the same, they are just skiped !
If I re-encode them using the original CD OR EVEN USING the .m4a files (that can't be read be the ipod), then iPod can read them !
So ?
Please contact me if you want to check, i'll send you one (or more) .m4a file to test !

Roland, welcome to Apple Discussions. This is a forum for fellow owners of Apple products and namely iPod in this part of the forum. Developers may or may not look at these posts, but I would guess most likely that they won't. On that note you can contact Apple support at:

Secondly, you sound like you are severely out of date on your software. There is an iTunes 6 available which will also update your Quicktime to version 7.0.3 or something like that. I also wonder what version of you firmware do you have on your iPod. You will most likely need to update this (http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/).
I can tell you that no company unless specifically paid for will not support earlier releases of software when they have new versions out that will address most issues. Once you have updated, then I think you have legitimate excuse to talk to Apple (http://www.apple.com/support/complimentary/). Most likely you will have to use their 800 number (http://www.apple.com/contact/phone_contacts.html).

One month ago i've recived a new 23'' Apple monitor and soon i've noticed one pixel (in the center bottom of the display) not working properly.
I said one is not too bad!
but now that i'm writing the pixels not working properly are growing in the same area making them more evident (for precision today 10; sometimes are less but sometime are more 10 is an average number).
I can remeber Mr. Jobs sayng in one of last keynote that Apple lcd monitors are the best! Apple refuses the lcd display other companies use for their top of the gamma...etc.
Well ..... I've two 30'' and this 23'' in my studio and when i look at them...they are beautifull !But i'had troubles with pixels in 30'' (now solved) and the new 23'' has problems too.
I found difficult to trust Mr. Jobs words because i'use also other brands monitor (Sony, Eizo) and in no one i have one single broken pixel .
May be Apple should pay more attenction to the quality provided by their chinese suppliers.

You may be able to convince apple that you have too many dead pixels. Try taking it into an apple store and see what they say

READ THIS !!upgrading to 2.57 can brick your system!!!!

Hi This has been reported by several user WITH OR WITHOUT POWER OUTAGE !!!!!!It seems that upgrading to 2.57 results in a bricked playstation dues to DS4 sync issues : I faced a power outage during firmware upgrade to version 2.57 on my ps4 . When power came back i pressed the ps button on the dualshock . the ps4 started and the upgrades process completed successfully. The ps4 booted to the menu but my dualshock was not syncing and blinking white. I tried nearly EVERYTHING, the DS4 is only working in safe mode. I m living in central africa and sending anything by mail is difficult if not impossible. Don't know maybe somebody could have some suggestions i failed to think about. I opened the ps4 to check the bluetooth connectivity so my waranty is void, which doesn't matter as in the place i m living in nobody would take it back. ;( ;( ;( Here is what i tested : -Reset DS4 with reset button near L2 on the back both with ps4 powered off and after boot-Reset Button + PS Button-Share button 5 seconds + PS button 5 seconds both before and after boot-Tested with 2 other controllers borrowed from a friend-Tested with 5 different cables-Safe mode Rebuild database-Safe mode restore factory settings-Safe mode initialize-Safe mode initialize with system software reinstall-Safe mode upgrade , tested with small and full firmware downloaded on USB key-Open PS4 and check bluetooth cable connectivity (void waranty !!!!)-Finally i removed the Hard disk , wiped out the disk with linux dd id=/dev/urandom of=/dev/sdx and reinstalled Despite all of this i m always stuck on the ps4 welcome screen ; please press ps button on DS4 ....Does it mean that a power outage can break bluetooth connectivity ?If not, if an official employee from sony can see this thread , is it possible to implement a function in safe mode or during boot to test/reset bluetooth chip ?? yes but there are other threads , it seems that this randomly affecting a minority of users. I can't send it to service; my country isn't even listed on their support site neither my region It is boring to have a device starting and stuck at welcome string just cause of dualshock connectivity ;( I could buy a new one but maybe this can be and will be fixed in an upcoming firmwares.

I get this message when I try to publish:Can't create the file "get-attachment.aspxuid=1.jpg." The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges.

Any tips on how to backtrack to figure out the problem?

If you got someone else email than that's a BIG error and it has nothing to do with whatever client you are using. You send your credentials to gmail and they connected to another account, not even Google would like to do that.
Either you send the wrong credentials and then you happend to have the same password as this other account. Try using webmail on that account.
Change your password!!! If you can access that account he/she can access yours.

Adobe Reader 9 installed but can't open any pdf. file now

I have been successfully using the Acrobat Adobe 8 with no problem until trying to download the Adobe Reader 9.
I run on Windows XP. Ever since downloading Adobe Reader 9....I can no longer use Acrobat Adobe at all. I can not
read or open any Acrobat Adobe files .pdf no matter what application was used in creating them or rather they were created by me or someone else.
I get the error message that Adobe encountered a problem and had to close. Someone PLEASE help.

Repairing Acrobat after removing Acrobat Reader worked for me in the past. I would try that first before removing Acrobat.

I have Adobe reader installed, but can't open pdfs in Firefox and it doesn't show in the Applications tab.

When I click on a pdf link, the new tab opens but doesn't show the content of the pdf. There is no error message. When I look under Tools, Options, applications, there is no option for handling pdfs. I have the Adobe reader for Firefox installed.

You're all wrong. Here's the story:
I have reluctantly been using the Chrome browser for some time, and suddenly they have withdrawn support for viewing PDFs in Reader, not in the browser. Didn't announce it, just did it. Goodbye Chrome. Grrrrr.
