I hope LR 3.1 comes out soon

Geez, I try to edit a photo on PS CS3 from LR, and every time PS launches, it just disappears (crashes). I exit LR3 and start PS CS3, no problem, starts right up. I reopen LR3 with PS open, and then try right click on the PSD LR3 created earlier, and choose "edit in PS" and I get a dialog with just the words "What to Edit" and nothing more. What a giant step backwards from 2.7 in terms of stability. So much for months of Beta testing. LR3 is definitely not ready for Prime Time.

It sounds like you are experiencing some really bad bugs.  Please hang in there!
I get a little frustrated with adobe sometimes as well.  I, too, am having some problems with LR3, although nothing as serious as you are reporting.  Also, sometimes I do not agree with the basic design principles of the product.
However, I remind myself of just how good LR is compared to the pre-LR universe.
I remind myself of how stable adobe products are in general compared to other software such as Bibble and NX.
I remind myself how much effort adobe puts into ergonomics and shortcut keys.  I know, room for improvement, but still, pretty darn good.
I remind myself that we continuously pound on the team for more stuff, faster stuff, more flexible stuff - and we want it sooner!  There will be an occasional hickup along the way.
I remind myself how much adobe personnel care.  You can see that from the comments that Melissa and Eric, amongst others, contribute to this forum.
So, 3.1, and maybe 3.2 will roll out to patch the problems as quickly as adobe can solve the issues.  The best we can do is provide them with information to help track down the root causes.
