The mac has no native way to read .wma files (these are Windows Media Audio files). Do a search on the internet for playing wma files on a mac. You will find several links to solution (one is to use flip4mac).

iTunes should read the mp3 tags of the file and not the filename itself. Open itunes and go to the preferences window. Carefully read through all the tabs and pay special attention to the option marked keep my music folder organized and copy music to my itunes folder.
I think you should uncheck both of these options (at least for now). Drag one test file into the itunes library and see how it is displayed there. Keep in mind that if you right-click -> get info on the song you can modify the data stored in the tag (this can be very tedious with thousands of songs). If the song displays correctly, try a few more just to be sure.
If you are satisfied then reconsider how you want itunes to handle your music. Personally I have both options checked off because I don't mind it organizing my files and I like to know that it copies music I add to it so that I can keep the original file unmodified on my desktop, or whereever.
Depending on the size of your music library and the amount of free hard drive space, I can make further suggestions for the order in which you import your music into itunes and modify its preferences.

If you are wishing to add the WMA soundtrack to a PrE Project, I would convert/rip the WMA to PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit, and then Import that WAV file into the PrE Project. Drag it to a free Audio Track. Though there is a Soundtrack Track, some users have had issues with it. Any free Audio Track, with the necessary channel-count is likely to work better.
For the conversion/ripping, there are many programs that can do this for you. I use Adobe Audition, but the great, free Audacity can do it nicely, as well.
As WMA can have aspets, like 6-channel Audio, wrapped in the WMA, I like doing the conversion, unless I need, say the 6 discrete channels in Audition, for output to DTS Audio with the SurCode DTS encoder program.

While trying to upload an Audio file from a CD, iTunes won't let me. Says there is a duplicate file.

I have been successfully uploading Audio CDs for a Social Studies Textbook onto my iTouch. When I went to do this today, iTunes "Failed" because it says there is a duplicate file. I have not uploaded this new CD, so that is not possible. Each CD lists their "Tracks" the same way. Track 01, Track 02, etc, however I renamed previous tracks in iTunes.
I need to get these files uploaded so we can listen to them on the iTouch, but I have had no success today. The frustrating part is that I have done 3 CDs previously with no issues.
Even if I did find a duplicate file, I don't know how to delete the file. I do have 1 failed "Track 01" in the Recently Updated section, but it won't play, because it can't "locate" the file. When I try to delete in iTunes, "Delete" is greyed out and unavailable.
What do I need to do?

Nothing has been deleted.
The Library folder is just hidden now. Hold down the Option key while clicking on Go in the Finder's menu and you'll see that you can open the Library folder.
Once opened, drag the folder to the Finder's sidebar, so that you open it more easily next time.

How do i get music onto my iphone 5 from iTunes on my mac??

I am losing the will to live trying to do what I thought would be a straightforward task. It certainly used to be?!?! Copy my music on Itunes from my Mac to new iPhone5.
When I connect iPhone 5 to Mac via usb, automatically shows my iPhone5 device on Iphoto, then when I close Iphoto and open Itunes the device isn't anywhere to be seen. I've read a few other articles/solutions that mention about ctrl S or option command s but that produces the classic apple "thud" response. Rapdily losing my faith in Apple to be honest. I have (I think) downloaded the most up to date iTunes and iOS but everything is now a total mess and not intuitive at all. I am not a techno geek so please, please can someone help using plain English.

The payment methods that are available in your country will show on your account. If debit cards aren't available on that screen then you won't be able to use it as your payment method.

Are you trying to open an audio file in GarageBand or a GarageBand project?
To open an audio file drag it from your NAS to a real-instrument track in GarageBand.
