wqn02h, first thing I would do is use Disk utility to repair permissions. Once this is done. Make sure you have the latest versions of the software you use. Also, check the manufacter of your printer/scanner for updated software. If they don't have updated software there are 3rd party alternatives that will work.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How do I install a previous version of Flash Player

I need to restore a prior version of Flash Player. I found the web site that has the archived versions of Flash Player but I don't know what to do after I download the archive.

    Windows 7 64 bit
    IE 8.0.7600.16385
I downloaded archive FTP10.1_archive. It appears that the archive I downloaded may have two releases in it:
    10_1r82_76
    10_1r53_64
Since I don't know what version I had before the problems started, I want to work my way backwards through the archives until I find one that works with the video I am having an issue with, so I am starting with 10_1r82_76. If that doesn't work, I want to uninstall and try 10_1r53_64. If that doesn't work I want to download and install the version(s) labeled Flash Player 10. If that doesn't work, the version(s) labeled Flash Player 9.0.280 and higher, etc.

  • I want to re-install an older version of Flash Player but...

I hope this is the right place to ask this question...
I have a new dual processor pentium laptop and I upgraded to Flash V10.1 a couple of days ago. One web site I access regularly has now slowed right down and the video is unwatchable. My CPU meter runs at over 70% so I simply wanted to uninstall V10.1 and re-install V9. For whatever reason (I don't know if it is laptop, Win7 or Adobe), I am prevented from loading the older version. An Adobe window pops up and says that this (V9) is not the latest version, stops the install and points me back to the Adobe site to download the latest version. I have followed all of the guides to ensure proper uninstallation of V10.1. All very frustrating!
    Can anyone help - please?
    Thanks
    Ian

OK, here I am replying to myself but perhaps others may gain from this solution. Remember, this original post was "how to stop Adobe preventing me from installing an older version and forcing me to take the latest version...". I just wanted to re-install an older version to prevent big CPU usage and stuttering video. Well, this is what fixed it for me an allowed me to install Adobe Flash V9...
Assuming you have properly uninstalled Adobe Flash Player v10.n, you need to remove a folder and files from your registry. If you are unhappy to do this, then ask an expert - the registry is not somewhere you want to get lost in. I am also assuming you have the correct system permissions, Anway this is what I did:
    1. Go to start button and find (and run) REGEDIT.EXE
    2. Rather than give you a specific path to follow, it is best to simply use REGEDIT to find the folder by clicking "Edit" then "Find".
    3. You are looking for a folder called "SafeVersions".
    4. When you find it, it may show a number of safe versions (previous loads of the player).
    5. From the left window pane, right click on the aforementioned folder then click "Delete"
    6. Respond to any prompts you might get, like, "do you want to do this..." etc.
    7. Close down all applications in the normal manner and reboot.
    8. When restarted, go back on line and download the V9 (or whatever version you want). You'll know its a good 'un as it loads in a fraction of the time.
    9. Go back to your web page or whatever and, hey presto, everything is back to what it was before that hungry V10.n was uploaded.
Hope that helps, it might be nice if the Adobe uninstaller deleted this registry entry, but it doesn't - or at least in Win7 on my PC, it didn't.
Let me know it the above works for you.
    Thanks and good luck

  • I can't install an older version of flash player and the new one won't work.

I've read on the boards everyone says to run the Adobe uninstaller prior to trying to install the older version and I did, but the download still says it can't install the older version because it isn't the current version. And the current version isn't running on my computer. All I have is a black screen. I need the adobe flash player to for work purposes and it is really hindering my ability to function at work without it. Can someone please provide some kind of help that may actually work? Because I've uninstalled and reinstalled this several times. I have tried adjusting settings...everything I have found on the boards so far.

My experience (going back to a G5 iMac in 2005) is that you MUST install the lower version first in order to run two different versions on the same machine. I did it that way with CS and CS3, then CS3 and CS4, and later on my MacBook with CS4 and CS5. Now my Mini has CS5.5 and CS6, but I've always had to install the lower CS version first or the higher would keep the lower from installing.
So you will probably have to remove CS4 and then reinstall them both in the proper order.
Is there any particular reason you want or need both? In my case, I already had CS 3 and installed CS4 in addition, but later removed CS3 as I found CS4 was able to do everything CS3 did and then some. In fact I'm unaware of anything aside from some older filters that would run better in CS3 than CS4.

  • Had to install an earlier version of Flash Player

Flash Ver 10.3.183.7 is crashing in all three browsers that I use,
    Firefox 6
    IE9
    Chrome
I had an older version od Flash (10.0 r22) hanging about in my Downloads folder so I installed that after uninstalling the new one.
The old version works in all three browsers but there are some vids here and there that call for 10.3 and refuse to work.
I can't even get to try deselecting the "Hardware Acceleration" box with ver 10.3.183.7 because a soon as the Flash starts the browser freezes and I have to go to Task Manager to End Process.
    This is all most unsatisfactory.
I see many others are having trouble with 10.3/
    I hope it's fixed soon.

  • Unable to clean out registry to enable install of latest version of flash player

I am trying to implement the registry fix to ensure that Flash is completely uninstalled as described in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html
I am using Windows Vista Pro (32 bit) and do not have the directory ´C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\´ in which I am instructed to install the files reset_fp10.cmd and subinacl.exe
I have used the Flash uninstall utility three times in succession and still get the message on the page http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ that “You have version 9,0,28,0 installed”.
Flash installs into IE8 but not into Firefox Version 3.6.13, where I am experiencing the problem.
How should I now proceed to ensure that Flash is completely removed and that I can install the new version correctly?

    Dear Sachin:
Thank you for your help, however I have to get back to you to inform that after  downloading the new package based on the link that you´ve provided, I´m  still unable to execute the application.  I get the message: “block by the administrator”  and also another message: “the editor of this program is unknown and unsafe”. Please note that all other programs from Adobe´s Creative Cloud have been downloaded and installed with success. All Adobe Creative programs have been installed on my computer several months ago and all are working fine so far.  This morning I installed an update for Photoshop without  any problem. It seems that the problem persists only with Muse. I have to highlight that I´m the administrator of my PC and therefore all applications are currently being executed as administrator. I have never had the intention to block any program, including obviously Adobe´s Creative Suite programs.
Could you please let me know how to splve this problem?
    Michael.

  • Installing a new version of Flash Player

I suspect the Adobe Flash Player (AFP) on my Windows XP pc is corrupted and I want to uninstall it and replace it with the latest version, which I understand s 15.0.0.152. I am using Firefox as my browser.
Q1: How can I tell what version of AFP I currently have? When I view Control Panel\Remove and ... I see I have two AFP items:
Adobe Flash Player 15 Active X; and
Adobe Flash Player 15 Plug in
Q2: Should I uninstall one (or both) of these items before loading 15.0.0.152? Can I remove them using the Control Panel\Remove app or do I need to remove them another way?
Q3: What is the URL of the site from which I download 15.0.0.152?
    Thanks.

You can uninstall Flash Player using the uninstaller:
    Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
You can then download a new Flash Player by going to:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
The installers for Internet Explorer (ActiveX) and Firefox (and other NPAPI browsers) are different, so you'll want to do the installation for one or both browsers.  The Flash Player distributed with Chrome is built into the browser, so it will remain unaffected.
I doubt that this will resolve your video playback issues.  It's more likely that it's related to your graphics drivers, but let's take this one thing at a time.

  • Why does it tell me I need to install the full version of flash player when I do have the full version installed.

I'm trying to open a pdf attachment that apparently has flash content in it. When I go to the download page, it says I need to install the full version. We are set up to distribute within our company because part of our network is offline. I assumed what we were downloading is the full version. Is there something else I'm missing?

Downloading from a browser?  If so, what browser?

just downloaded captivate 4 when trying to open I get a message saying that I need to install the latest version of flash player...which I already had I have uninstalled and reinstalled I have also made sure that it is enabled and working any ideas?

You need to downgrade Flash player, not to upgrade. CP4 is over 5 years old, will not be happy with the latest Flash players.
