I installed a free 30 day subscription of adobe reader X1 and I want to try to edit a pdf.  The program keeps taking me back to a link to buy it?? how do I use it?

how do i use my free 30 day trial of adobe reader x1?? when i try to edit a pdf it just asks me to buy the program?

I think your problems may come down to mixing up two completely different programs.
1. Adobe Reader. This is FREE. There is no subscription or trial. However, there are add-on subscriptions called ExportPDF and PDF Pack. There is no trial for these either.
2. Adobe Acrobat. This is NOT FREE and has a 30 day free trial.
My guess is that you have downloaded the free trial for Adobe Acrobat, but are continuing to actually run Adobe Reader. Look closely at which app you are using, and start it with the START button (Windows) or Launch Pad (Mac). DON'T JUST DOUBLE CLICK ON A PDF.

  • With OSX10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02 when I try to open a PDF downloaded from the web I get 'There was an error opening this document. This file is damaged and could not be repaired. Preview will not open either. Older PDFs OK.

I am running OS X 10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02. In the last few days I have been unable to open PDF's downloaded from the web. Reader gives the error message 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired'. Removing Reader and trying to use Preview to open these files give the error 'Preview cannot open this file. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognise' (or something like that). Downloading the same files with Reader removed from my Mac Preview opens the files OK.
I was recently prompted to update Adobe software but did not note exactly what the update was nor when it was done.
Reader and Preview will both open PDFs I downloaded a week ago. Reader will also open files downloaded on another Mac running OS X 10.0.0 and copied to my Mac. Any ideas?

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Adobe Reader 9 and XI do not save other formats to PDF.

I had Adobe Reader 9 on  PC Windows 7. I am sure I used to be able to save other file formats to PDF with Reader, but when I try now, I get the sign saying "The printer name is invalid" and the file wouldn't be saved to PDF. I tried uninstalling Reader 9 and installing Reader XI. Exactly the same thing happens. Does anyone know what this sign means and how the problem can be solved? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Adobe Reader doesn't save other formats as PDF.
You probably had Adobe Acrobat if you remember doing this. They look similar.

  • Adobe Reader XI and Firefox 17.0.1 problems saving multiple PDFs

    Hello,
I am running Adobe Reader XI (the most recent version as of my writing this), Firefox 17.0.1, and Windows 7 SP1.  I am trying to save multiple PDFs but I am only able to save one at a time before having to restart firefox.  Here is the chain of events:
I open a PDF in a new browser window
I click "Save" on the toolbar
I select the location and save my new PDF
I close the window and return to open an additional PDF
The PDF opens in a new window
I click the save button (see step 2)
The button is present and animates when I click
Nothing else happens (i.e., no prompt to select the save file location)
    I get upset
    I restart firefox
Repeat steps 1-10 for additional PDFs
I have a whole bunch of class lectures in PDF that I would like to save so I can study offline.  Please Help!
    Thanks,
    T

I just tried this (Reader XI & Firefox 17.0.1), opening PDFs
in the same tab as the link
    in a new tab
    in a new window
all had no problem with saving; the explorer windows opened each time in My Documents folder.  I do not know why this does not work for you.
Suggestion: if you have links to these online PDFs, right-click on the link, then select 'Save link as...'; that is anyway quicker than opening and saving the files.

I purchased the 30 day subscription of Adobe Pro for my Mac Air and downloaded the app and opened it as instructed. Nothing appears to happen after that and I have been unable to use Adobe Pro thus far.

I previously downloaded a trial version of Adobe Pro and had used it the last 30 days. Today I just clicked on the link from my purchase confirmation and downloaded some type of installer. Once I clicked on the installer and gave it permission to do whatever it needed to do, it just sort of stalled. I am running Mac OS Yosemite. I thought Yosemitie might be part of the problem because it has given me occasional problems with Word and some other programs.

  • Purchased subscription to adobe reader will not let me use it

I purchased the subscription to adobe reader to convert pdf files to word documents and the charge is on my credit card but the subscription does not show up under my subscriptions in my account and keeps asking me to purchase a subscription when i am using adobe reader

Do you mean Adobe Acrobat?  Reader is free software used for reading pdf files.
You should try to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone for this problem.
Here is a link to a page with options to help make contact:

YOu need to be clear about the products you are using, so we can help you. In particular there is no trial of Adobe Reader, it is free and keeps running. Sounds like you are using some versions of Acrobat - which?
YOu must properly uninstall the trial, don't just delete files or you may get a mess impossible to recover.

  • Hi, It's my last day test on adobe elements 12. I want to buy it now but It's looks only posible to buy the Adobe elements 13 version. If I buy this 13 version, I'm going to loose all the projects I did before with the elements 12 test evaluation? Thanks!

Are you currently working on a tryout of Premiere Elements 12 downloaded from Adobe?
If so, you do not have to buy from Adobe. You can purchase the version from an authorized reseller of
    the product.
At that point, you can leave the 12 tryout installed and just install your purchased serial number from
the authorized reseller or uninstall the tryout and just install the purchased product with its serial number.
When you open a tryout 12 project file (with Adobe watermark) in a purchased Premiere Elements 12, the
    Adobe watermark should disappear
    a. if you use Timeline/Delete Rendered Files
    or
    b. do nothing...so of us have found that just opening the tryout file in a purchased product removes the Adobe
    watermark automatically.
    As for
If I buy this 13 version, I'm going to loose all the projects I did before with the elements 12 test evaluation?
Are you talking about the Adobe watermark? You will not lose the projects, but whether or not the Adobe watermark
is removed in a purchased version which is not the version in which it was created is of concern.
I will see what exploration and experimentation on that I can do.

I just signed up for a subscription to adobe reader paying EUR 24.40.
The program does not work, and I can not even go to my personal page .... help ...?

Adobe Reader is free; it does not require a subscription.
Did you subscribe to an online service like ExportPDF, PDF Pack, ...?
What exactly does "not work" mean?

  • I installed Adobe Reader X and i can't print PDF's without opening Reader first

Hi, i am using windows XP and i just installed Adobe Reader X onto a workstation within' my office. I use to have Adobe Reader 9 where i could just open a folder with my PDF's. For example, My Documents folder and right click on the PDF i want to print, without opening the file in Adobe Reader first and then clicking print. With Adobe Reader X, i can't do the right click option and print because nothing happens.
Is they an option in Adobe Reader X i need to turn on or off, to get the function of printing by right clicking on the PDF file without opening Reader X to print please ?

Is it happening all the times or happened just in the starting when you hadn't accepted EULA?
Is it still happening after accepting EULA?
Also, can you please tell what printer exactly are you using?

  • I am trying to cancel my monthly subscription to adobe reader...it is not user friendly and I cannot figure it out.

I Am trying to cancel my monthly subscription but this site is not user friendly and I cannot figure it out!  Help!

There's no monthly subscription to Adobe Reader. It's a free product that doesn't require subscription or payment of any kind.
What exactly do you have a subscription for?

  • : I have recently purchased a iBook G4 Mac OS X VERSION 10.5.6 and I  cannot install any apps such as firefox, adobe reader, it reads you cannot install this file on this disk

: I have recently purchased a iBook G4 Mac OS X VERSION 10.5.6 and I  cannot install any apps such as firefox, adobe reader, it reads you cannot install this file on this disk

Are you saying the iBook G4 you have is running OS X 10.5.6?
The next file to get for it would be the Combo update 10.5.8 for Leopard.
And any old archived Flash player for 10.5.8 from Adobe flash site.
A browser such as TenFourFox, iCab, SeaMonkey-PPC, these are OK
but you won't be able to go past Leopard 10.5(.8) in a PowerPC Mac.
All these are free bits, however anything past 10.5.8 Mac OS X
would require a newer Mac with Intel-based architecture. Macs
made in 2006+ can see later OS X versions.
    Good luck & happy computing!

    Hi Bryan ,
It happens when you save it as an Adobe PDF or a normal PDF?
Happens with all the files or any specific one?
What exact version of Acrobat are you using?
Try updating it to the latest one if it is an older one.
You may also want to uninstall and re install it to check.
Let us know how it goes.

i wanna delete my annual subscription at adobe reader xi, what can i do?

There are no subscriptions for Adobe Reader. It's a free product.
If you're subscribed to something else you can probably cancel it through here: Cancel your membership or subscription | Acrobat, Acrobat.com online services
