I have a similar problem which i did not have before...and it exists only in some powerpoint files which i want to print as a pdf file...and i get the same message as above.

I have the Acrobat X Standard, the tool box no longer gives me the options I had before like splitting documents. Please help!

Was it AA X Std that you had these options in (sorry, I only have Pro)? If it was the trial (that is Pro), it may be that Std does not have to feature. Under XI at the Adobe site, there is a comparison of features between Std and Pro that might give you a hint.
There is also an option to turn on or hide many tools. For me there is a small icon just above the tools...comment titles. If you select that it give a list of tools you can display. Often, several are not displayed by default. How you lost them is another things, but it is getting them that is the basic question.

I opened Adobe Acrobate XI Standard to create a form.  I then selected From Template, which took me to Adobe FormsCentral Online.  However, I think the form is an HTML web form.  All I wanted was a regular PDF form that I could email my co-workers for an internal project we're colletively working on.  Now I see that FormsCentral is going away and I can't get my doc to save as a PDF without an upgrade?  Help

You should be able to log into the online Formscentral Acrobat XI air app and see your doc there. From there you would need to save it out as a PDF without a submit button to have it continue to work past July. If you don't see your online form(s) please let me know the adobeID you use to log into the service as well as the form name that is missing and I will look into it for you.

  • Acrobat 9 Standard - Document Message Bar not shown in shared review

A pdf file is "send for shared review" by Acrobat 8 or 9 on a network folder.
The file is shared review enabled and is storred at the network folder correctly.
If the file is opened by Acrobat 9 Standard the yellow
Document Message Bar (DMB)does not show up.
Opening using Acrobat 8 Standard or Pro works fine and presents the DMB.
Doing a review without the Document Message Bar is really clumsy, so
    any help is very welcome.
    Tested so far:

  • Distiller will suddenly close/crash the *SECOND* time I open a file for converting to PDF.

The subject heading says it all: Distiller will suddenly close/crash the *SECOND* time I open a file for converting to PDF.
But I think I have a clue why this is happening. Typically, I use Distiller to convert EPS or PS files into PDFs. Also, almost without fail, I embed the required fonts (exclusively Type 1) directly into the EPS/PS files (using the required PFA format) so no local fonts on my computer are needed to be looked for by Distiller to be embedded in the resulting PDF; they're already in the EPS/PS files.
But yesterday, I attempted to convert some EPS/PS files to PDFs using Distiller in which I had NOT embedded the Type 1 fonts (in PFA format, of course) in the source EPS/PS files. The first such conversion would work (in which I select "Open" and choose an EPS/PS file for conversion), but after that initial conversion, the *SECOND* time I clicked on "Open" (open file), Distiller would immediately close/crash.
I then searched the web for answers, and discovered some people were having trouble getting Distiller to initialize if any of their computer system fonts were read-only. So, I went back to my EPS/PS files and embedded the required Type 1 (PFA format) fonts into them, and then—magically—Distiller worked without a hitch: I could open and convert any number of them in succession, with Distiller never closing/crashing.
So, I concluded the reason that Distiller had been crashing upon the second attempted opening of a file (again, simply by pressing the "open" button to search for a file to convert, *not* after selecting a file) must have had something to do with Distiller scanning my computer's installed fonts when there was no embedded PFA font to reference, and a read-only font on my system was causing the problem. However, I looked in the two logical places where my fonts should be located (c:\psfonts and c:\windows\fonts), but found *no* font files' attributes set to "read-only" So, I'm stumped.
I'm using Distiller Pro 10.1.1316 (acrodist.exe) on a Win 8.1 machine. I've found similar posts, going back to 2004, about Distiller immediately crashing after opening when some fonts are read-only; I haven't yet found a post about anyone successfully using Distiller to convert one EPS or PS file to PDF, and then having the program crash when the "Open" button is pressed subsequently. Any clues, anyone?

Never heard about the crash and that does not sound normal. Be sure to do the updates to Acrobat in case that resolves the issue. You might also check the font settings in the settings file and check to ignore the error if the font can not be embedded and Distiller should use what it considers to be the closest system font.

With the latest version of itunes I cannot transfer files to my apps.  There is no "File Sharing" section.

    Yes there is.
Connect the iPad to your computer. Launch iTunes and at the menu at the top of the screen, go to View>Show Sidebar. After you have the sidebar, click on your iPad name like you did in the past. Click on the Apps tab in the window on the right. Scroll down to File Sharing apps.

  • How can I use Adobe Acrobat X Standard to print multiple documents on Lexis Nexis File & Serve?

I am unable to print multiple documents on the Lexis Nexis File & Serve legal website that used their Batch Document Processor software. The technicians there told me that Adobe Acrobat X Standard has an incompatibility with their Batch Document Processor software. I never had a problem with Adobe Acrobat 6.0 or Adobe Acrobat 9.0 and the Batch Document Processor program at the Lexis Nexis File & Serve website. I am now running Windows 7 Professional SP1. Before, we were running Windows XP Professional SP3 with the IE 8.0 browser. We now are running the IE 9.0 browser.

The answer is in the question...
Only the Pro version of Acrobat is capable of batch processing files (which
I assume the Lexis Nexis tool uses). Until now you had Acrobat Pro, and now
you have Acrobat Standard, and therefore you can't use it anymore. You need
    to upgrade to Acrobat Pro.

  • Acrobat 9 crashes the print spool

I have isolated the problem but I have no idea how to fix it.  I have windows 7 Home Edition 64  Thanks in advance, Andy

Thanks for the quick response.  I checked and I already have version 9.3.3.  Here is some more info that may help:
    (1) The problem only occurs when I print with Adobe Acrobat.  Word, Wordperfect, excel, mozilla web pages, jpg files, all print fine.
    (2) I think it has something to do with the print spool service (whatever that is)
    (3)  When I try to print from acrobat, it leaves files  in C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS that I think are supposed to be deleted automatically that mess things up.  One file ends in ".shd" and the other doesn't have an ending but explorer says it is a "shockwave" file.
I hope this problem makes some sense to you and is easy to fix.  A.

  • Acrobat XI Standard qualifying product could not be found

I purchased an upgrade for XI standard, installed it, have restarted the computer (although not necessary), I am clicking on the application "Adobe Acrobat XI Standard", there is a message saying "Serial valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer", so there are two fields on that window, right side is for typing the serial number, left side is a menu to actually choose the right product which corresponds to that serial number. So, in that menu there is no choice for "Acrobat XI Standard". What do I choose then? (Have never registered or bought products in the past).

Thank you for sharing that, it had been puzzling me.
If you purchased it from Adobe, you can contact them and ask for a refund, since you haven't used it yet, assuming the purchase is just made. Once refunded you can buy the full product.

  • Acrobat X Standard header and footer not working

We have just purchased 18 Fujitsu scansnap scanners. Each unit comes with Acrobat X Standard on a disc. I have installed my program disc twice now trying to fix the issue I am having. Currently I have the option to add a header/footer and when I choose this option the add header and footer screen opens up. However when I type something into the footer text field and click ok nothing happens? The screen doesn't close, I have to click on the cancel button, nothing shows in the Preview section of that screen and nothing appears on the document? One of my co-workers has installed the program and as soon as he opens the add header/footer screen the Preview section of that screen is available, and whatever he types in the footer field appears in the footer section of the Preview? • I scanned document to acrobat 9 standard and I can not see it to review.

I scanned a document to acrobat 9 sandard.
When I went to review it the pages were grey and I could not see what I had scanned in.
What could I have done wrong?
Or, is a setting on acrobat set wrong from prior use ( I recently reinstalled due to a virus in my computer).
    Thanks very much!

The image that is the output of a scanner is controlled by the scanner software not Acrobat.
Something to try. Configure your scanner to process out an image at 300 ppi and as a Black and White image.
Output to a TIFF (from the scanner).
Launch Acrobat - use the create PDF from file feature to 'pick up' the TIFF and create the PDF.
    Be well...
