I installed Acrobat XI pro on a Mac but it only shows the features of acrobat reader - how do I activate the pro features?
How do I get Acrobat XI pro on a Mac to work fully, and not just act like Acrobat Reader. i just paid and downloaded it, entered new serial number when requested, but when I open a .pdf I have no pro features showing (such as editing tools, convert to powerpoint, etc). I use XI pro on a windows PC and have no problem there.
Perfect answer. And I feel a bit dumb (should have worked it out, but still finding my way round the Mac). Many thansk for the help.

I cannot install creative cloud on my macs main volume which is a case-sensitive volume. I have a second volume that is not case sensitive. How can I get the installer to use that volume?
YOu can't. The CC app itself will always install on the system volume. short of reformatting your volume there is no way to resolve this.

purchased a download copy of Acrobat Pro XI for Mac from an online reseller for $199.00. Now I am suspicious that the reseller is less than trustworthy. Could I purchase a copy from Adobe without losing the $199 that I already spent?
I doubt it. The clue should be the price. Any time you see a copy available for less than from Adobe, I would be suspicious. You can inquire with the Adobe sales folks, but don't expect any credit. At this point, I would suggest just buying AA DC, rather than AA XI.

When you no longer need the Adobe software on a computer or you wish to move it to another one, you should deactivate the software.
See this link: how to deactivate software. Installation rules will let you install the software on two computers of the same platform (both windows or both mac) but you are limited to running it on only one at a time. If you have only installed it once, you should be able to install it on the other computer. If you have already installed the software twice and you don't have access to your previous computer or you upgraded your computer's hardware, replace a hard drive, upgraded your operating system, or reformatted your drive before deactivating your software, you can ask Adobe Support to help you deactivate the software from the machine. Hello, I am editing my final project at university on Premier Pro CC on mac, but when I try to load my project in Premier Pro CC for windows on my home pc i get "codec missing or unavailable". Something to do with Apples' ProRes 422 LT codec. Is there a way round this problem?
I just went to the Miraizon site, who has been the sole licensee of ProRes for PC, to see if their $150/license download was still at that price.
This is what I found ...
They only sell a few of their other products, and the ProRes/DNxHD codec package only generates an email form to "support".
I'm afraid you'll have to transcode those files to something like DNxHD or an avi codec or something to work them via PC. And I'd thought about purchasing that codec pack from them but kept putting it off. Now, I wish I'd bought it. Ah well.

My amp has an USB input but when I attach my mac pro to it, and set the input to the USB setting, no sound comes out. I looked at the system settings, but none of them produce a different outcome. How can I send the music through the USB out to USB in?
AFAIK cameras offer their own built-in format utility for inserted SD cards. You should use that. Otherwise, refer to the manual that came with your camera to determine precisely how your SD cards need to be formatted to work properly. Personally, I'd suggest Partition Scheme: MBR, and Filesystem: FAT32.
Try to limit the number of formats you perform on the SD cards, though, as you're reducing their lifespan. I believe formatting causes re-writes to a portion of the SD card that has fewer read/write cycles than the rest of the card as a whole. -
Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall Facetime on Mac ? The present version simply doesn't work. It shows me no "Contacts'. Infact once I click Next after I login, nothing at all happens. The video works fine though, I can see ,myself. But I have used Facetime a couple of times in the past from this same MAC.
Hence I wanna know if there's a way to uninstall and reinstall Facetime. Infact it doesn't even allow me to uninstall Facetime , every time I try it says, 'your Mac OS X needs Facetime'. PLEASE HELP !!!deltajane wrote:

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS5 installed in two computers. The hard drive of my home computer crashed and I had no time to deactivate the software. The hard drive needed to be formatted. How can I activate the software CS5 again ? Thank you for an answer.
If it's the same computer, same CPU and same HD, no de-activation or re-activation should be necessary.
Install from scratch and apply all updates manually.
Please do a forum search. I and others have repeatedly answered the question about failed updates of CS5 a whole bunch of times recently.
Bottom line: the Adobe auto updater is utterly useless in CS5 and prior versions. You need to download the updates and apply them manually yourself.
I and others have even supplied the links for Mac and Win, which you haven't even bothered to specify. -
i have a macbook pro. i think i might have pushed some buttons that made my macbook look for a wireless keyboard.. i dont have any wireless keyboard. and now i cant use the keyboard on my macbook. how can i get the normal keyboard staring?

For some reason, your Mac doesn't recognise that a keyboard is present, so it looks for a wireless keyboard. The question is, why doesn't your Mac recognise that a keyboard is attached?
First, you need to make sure you remove all peripherals, especially USB peripherals (the keyboard is on the USB bus). Then restart holding down the Shift key. This should boot in Safe mode. If the computer boots normally (not in safe mode) and the keyboard is still not working, try resetting the SMC

If that still doesn't fix the problem, then the keyboard (or its controller) is probably damaged and needs to be replaced. -

Is this the mac app store version? A number of people are having this problem. This is what adobe recommended in the past for fixing the problem, but as far as I know it doesn't work in Yosemite:

i had the Ex HD for about 3 years running smoothly on my mac but recently everything disappeared. plunged it into a pc to see if it read my files and it did. what can i do? to make it work on mac again. i don't want to reformat that drive because i have important applications (DMG) and other zip photo video files in the drive.yes. i did.
...i have tried "verify" & "repair" but they didn't pass the san test. and when i "unmounted/mount" a error message popped up say that there is a application running off the drive but there nothing (i see) running, to close all activity -
i purchased 2 books for my iPad and they downloaded successfully. They show up in iTunes when my iPad is connected to my Mac but do not show up on the Mac. Is this a synch issue? When I click the Synch box I am warned that downloads on my iPad will be erased. Is that true? My ultimate goad is to be able to read the books on my iPhone as well. Thanks.
You should be able to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync them to the iPhone (or you could re-download them directly on the iPhone)
