I got a message saying I didn't have java installed. I went to the apple site and downloaded JavaForMacOSX10.7.dmg and installed java. but it still says I don't have java installed.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

I strongly suggest you file a bug about this matter or if you don't know how I could do it for you. I see you are using a beta version of Firefox I recommend you use 3.6.6 the current production version. I cannot install itunes from the apple site .. it keeps saying the software is corrupted and cannot install correctly.. help!!!

I have tried to install the software from several sites including the apple site and they all say that the software is corrupted and did not install correctly to delete and reinstall. this seems unlikely as it has been weeks since I have been retrying the sites with the same results...is there an apple download that will check my pc for any errors that may be keeping the itunes from installing.. or is there anything else i can do to fix the issue.. its unlikely that itunes could stay corrupted for so ling without noticing it and fixing the issue..thank you...

I have no idea what this means or what to do about it. I can't even find a file on my computer like the one referred to in the pop up. I am currently considering keeping my old laptop if it is the only way for me to continue to access iTunes. What should I do to fix this?

What version of iTunes are you using? An .itl file is something that Windows uses, or very old versions of iTunes on Mac. The library file on Macs is now .xml and has been since late iTunes 4.
Is iTunes running ok without any problems after you OK that message? If it is, then you may be able to ignore it if you can't account for why you're getting it. But make sure you take backups in case something happens in the future.

Widgets loaded from the apple site don't install ...

i'm trying to install widgets to my MBP running OSX 10.8.4 that i have loaded from the apple site, and it refuses to install them saying my security settings prohibit installations of software not approved by apple. how to change that setting? i can't find an option in the preferences to allow the widgets to run. i'm assuming the .zip files are ok if they came from apple..... what am i missing?

which plug-in do you want to install?
some of the plug-ins come with an installer on the disk image, you click the installer and it will install it in its proper location.
For others you move the plug-in into to System Library or your User Library:
Your Hard disk > Library > Application Support >Aperture > Plug-Ins > Edit
or
Your Home Folder > Library > Application Support >Aperture > Plug-Ins > Edit
If it is an "Edit" plug-in, it goes into the "Edit" subfolder, "Export" plug-ins into the "Export" subfolder.
You can tell by the extension, what kind of plug-in it is.
E.G. BorderFX.ApertureExport is an export plug-in, BorderFXEditPlugin.ApertureEdit an edit plug-in.

P.S. In OS Lion the Libraries are hidden by default: To reveal your User Library activate the Finder and select from the main Finder menu:
    Finder > Go , then hold down the ⌥-option-key, untill the Library appears in the drop.down menu.
To show the System Library:

Whether you need to buy Mac OS X 10.7.3 depends on what version of OS X you have now.
If you have OS X 10.6.x or lower it is a paid upgrade from the Mac AppStore.
If you have OS X 10.7.x it is a free upgrade you get using Software Update on your Mac.

Will an Unlocked iPhone 4s purchased online in the UK (directly from the apple site) work between different networks/sims, as my time is spent in both the UK and Canada?

From what I've gathered looking around the forums, the answer seems to be yes.
However through searching more and more, I've seen some people have said otherwise or had some difficulties using their phone internationally with a different sim, so I just want to make sure that I can use it internationally with all the full features.

I however will be buying directly from the Apple store, so I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get trapped by my iPhone locking to the first carrier I insert into my phone.

No. Your Mac if it came with Leopard shipped with operating system discs for Leopard restoring. If you lost your discs, call AppleCare for replacement discs. If you bought your Mac from a non-Apple authorized source, contact them for the discs, and ask them to contact AppleCare for the discs if they lost them. The discs that shipped with the Mac should not be separated from the Mac, and should always be kept in a safe place.

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

If you tried to restore to your iCloud backup and your photos didn't fully restore, first go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and make sure it isn't still in the process of restoring.
If the restore is complete and all your photos weren't restored, all you can do is try restoring the backup again. You might try the solution posted by ezjules in this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589. This involves opening the photos app after the phone restarts and you provide the passwords for your Apple IDs, then leaving it open for the remainder of the restore process.

(I don't know if this is because it doesnt accpet my password, or I forgot my password in less than 5 minutes, or because when i typed in my new password, i typed it in wrong twice)

What I don't understand is why it is rejecting a password I am creating.
Perhaps the password you are creating is too short, or has characters that are not allowed, or is not secure enough because it is a word in a dictionary.
FileVault may have standards for what it considers an acceptable password. If the password is part of the 128-bit encryption scheme, it might have to be 16 characters, for example. (Don't know if that is true, but it's a possibility.) Check your documentation for password requirements.
