I installed Mac OS 10.9.4, but did not get iLife and iWorks. How can I obtain these? Somebody talked about redemption codes, but I did not find any extra information. Any suggestions?

If your computer shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, install them from the computer's original disks.
If your computer shipped with Mac OS X 10.7 or newer, log into the Mac App Store with the Apple ID used to register the computer, click on the Purchases tab, and download them.
If neither of these is applicable, buy them from the Mac App Store.

Try going into store then entring apple ID along the bottom...there's a tap for hidden downloads, slide finger across to unhidden then it should come bak into your library. Hope it works it did for me .

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. Check the songs are really not in the Music section of the library by clicking the magnifying glass in the search box and unticking Search Entire Library if it is ticked, then typing in the name of the album. If the tracks still don't show try closing iTunes and deleting a hidden file called sentinel from inside your iTunes folder. This should make iTunes run an integrity check on the database when you start it again. Make sure the tracks are checked before you try syncing again.

If you did a Clean Install, the files are gone. If you did an update from Panther, the is a possibility there is an Archive Folder with all of your files in it.. the best way to find out, is looks at your hard drive space, if its small, you lost them.

What model computer do you have? some early trackpads will not support all gestures.
Front Row was dropped by Apple in Lion. I beleive it can be recovered from Snow Leopard, I haven't tried it myself.

Why do you want to reinstall the OS on a new Mac? That should not be necessary. If you tell us what's wrong that is making you want to do that, we can better advise you.
As to reinstalling the OS, on a Mac with Lion (Mac OS X 10.7.x), you need to either have an internet connection capable of downloading several GB of data or you need to buy the Lion flash drive from the Apple Store.

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.

She can choose to either enable the setting on her iPod to Manually manage music and videos. With setting enabled she can sync content to her iPod from multiple computers without it affecting whats already stored her iPod. However, I would recommend copying whats on her iPod to her iTunes library first. There are several ways to accomplish this. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer discussing the different ways to do it.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

You cannot delete the account from the server (partly to prevent the username from becoming available again and some-one else using it to pretend to be you).. Having disengaged your devices from it, go to http://icloud.com and delete any data in there such as contacts and calendars. Then just ignore it.
