I installed ML on a new disk and didn't get much migration

I bought a new 750GB HD for my early 2009 MBP. I intalled ML on the new disk using a FW drive enlosure. I took the drive out of this enclosure and put it into my MAC. I took my old drive and put it into the enclosure and used migration assistant to take over all the data. I don't have any of my contacts or email setsups. I have my apps, but that is it. My desktop is also blank.
I did this once before from Leopard to SN and everyting came over fine and I was able to use my MAC right after the migration.
Is there anything I did wrong?

Repeat the process, ensuring that you erase and format the new HD properly, Mao OS Extended and with the GUID partitioning scheme. Install ML and on first boot, use the Setup Assistant to do the migration. See Pondini's Setup New Mac guide, wherein you treat the new HD as a new Mac. Then, swap the HDs.

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START > CONTROL PANEL > Programs n Features / highlight ASU and click CHANGE then REPAIR,

Maybe this can help someone else... I simply had to properly uninstall CS3 and reinstall it again after that. I think that sorted it! I also remember having a similar issue with Macs at work a couple of years back. Not sure whether the same applies to CS5/CS6. Look into the License Manager in the National Instruments folder of your Start menu. It is probably just a matter of activating LabVIEW 8.6 and possibly some other features with your new license code instead of your previous full version license code.

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
if you're using a mac:
1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
5. Start the installation again.

HT4854 What about a clean install to a brand new disk?

Just bought a new 1 TB disk and i mirrored my backup disk to it.
But my machine wont recognize the HDD and all i get is "gray screen".

Well, this is the case:
I have 3 mbps, one 15" 2010 who was running SL, one 17" 2010 running ML and one rMBP running ML.
The 2010 15" suddely stopped booting and i figured it was a HDD problem so i took it out, put it in a 2.5" USB cabinet and conneced to one of my other machines. I the could open the disk, repair and do pritty much what i wanted. So figuring this was software mailfunction i deleted everything and installed SL booting it up via the USB "enclosure"(?) through my 17". THat did not do anything good for me(used the CDs from the 17").
I the purchased a new disk figuring something was wrong with the hardware. I have a clone of my 17" from when it was running lion laying around so i figured i would try to mirror it on to the new disk using superduper. That whent to ****!.
I then put it in to my USB enclosure and connected to my rMBP and used recovery ML to install it to the new disk.
That did not work either....
All the time the 15" 2010 would not recognize the new HDD when i put it in.
So now i am at a loss...

I have an old Ultra-10 root-disk that is starting to make some noise. I purchased a new big disk drive. I plan to transfer all the file systems over to the new disk and replace the original disk. I have already used 'format' to partition the disk and I have copied over all the filesystems. Next step - make it bootable.
What is the command on Solaris-7 to install the 'boot' program to make this new disk bootable?
I have hunted around on docs.sun.com quite a bit, but I must not be using the right keywords....

Boot block on the hard disk is corrupted .Boot the system in single user mode with cdrom and reinstall boot block .

boot block can not find the boot programe - ufsboot in Solaris .Either ufsboot is missing or corrupted . In such cases it can be restored from the cdrom after booting from cdrom & mounting the hard disk

Not sure how far you've gotten, so i'll start from the beginning.
After you downloaded the PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US.zip
right click on it and choose Extract All
In the Extract dialog check Show extracted files when complete
Then the window should open showing a folder as below
If you double click on that folder, then there is a pdf with instructions for installing the plugins
If you still need help with installing we can assist you

Installed ios 6 on new iPad and siri will not work.

Good morning, I installed ios6 on the new iPad and siri will not work. Each time I try to use siri she says "uh oh, I'm having a problem. Please try again. I have tried turning siri off and back on again. Resetting the iPad, resetting the network, turning Airplane Mode off and on again. All to know avail. My iphone 5 works great and so does my wife's iphone 4s with ios6. I have called Apple support but there only suggestion was that the servers were busy. If that was the case my other devices would not work either. Plus the servers wouldn't be busy for four days. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I was looking forward to using siri on the new iPad and other folks don't seem to be having a problem.

Then you need to change your device details as this still says iPad2.
It's very possible Apple's servers have been busy for 4 days as not everyone downloaded iOS 6 on the day it was announced. I downloaded it last Friday, myself, as an example.
There are a millions and millions of people using Apple iDevices.
Just because everything went fine with the iOS 6 updates of your iPhone 4 and 5 doesn't mean something couldn't have gone wrong with an update to your iPad3
If the iOS update missed something during the download, I am not sure how to go about re-downloading iOS 6 to fix the issue you are having.
