I installed Oracle9i Database on my Win2000 AdvancedServer, but when i try to open Enterprise Manager by clicking "Enterprise Manager Console" from Start menu, can u believe what happened?? OK , let me tell u, NOTHING HAPPENED! no alerts,no windows, nothing.
I have started the "OracleOraHome90ManagementServer" Service, and the windows2000 system is a brandnew one.
Being a newbit of Oracle, i dont know what to do now, please help me.

Hi Micromad,
I think it takes a while to start Enterprise manager console on the Win 2000 server.SO wait for sometime after clicking from start menu. Also you will have to choose standalone option if Oracle Management Server is not configured.
check it out....

  • Who can tell me how to install Oracle9i Database under redhat7.3

I want to install Oracle9i Database under redhat7.3,but fail, can you tell me how to install it.

You can set it at infopackage level.
Go to infopackage-> Scheduler menu-->Data S Default Size(something like this).
Inside this you have option to set size of datapackage.
    Hope this helps.

  • Installing Oracle9i Database on Windows 2003 Cluster

Can anyone tell me if there are any additional steps needed to install an Oracle DB on a Windows 2003 cluster besides just running the installation and taking the defaults? I was hoping that the software would be cluster aware but it doesn't appear that it is.

    Okay,
I have gotten a little further with this. I have my 2 node active/passive windows cluster installed and working. I also install Oracle Fail Safe and have it setup and working. I then install my Oracle9i database on node 1 using a local disk for the home directory and the DB/logs files etc on shared disk (SAN back end). I then mirrored the install on my 2nd node using the same home name and location on a local disk. What other steps do I need to take to verify that my new Oracle database will function correctly should a node fail and fail over occur. I am not familiar with any of this at all and am just trying to get to a point where I have my DB installed and working correctly within the cluster before I hand this of to another person. I guess what I am saying is I need to make sure my new DB is cluster aware and will fail over correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I have seen AMD Athalon cpus do this when the powersupply is not certified. It occurrs during various intense loads, especially installs.
Long shot, but thought I'd throw it out there.

If you look at page 2, Installation and Configuration, the steps to configure you OS and "install" oracle are detailed. Since this a developer preview version the standard installation steps commonly associated with Oracle do not apply.

  • Installing oracle9i AS & 9i database on winxp

how to install oracle9i AS (9.0.2) and oracle 9i database on same pc havin winodws XP professional as OS. any specific setting is required to do so ??

    Sanjay,
YOu must read the manula or you learn nothing especially before you install. When you have problems you will make a bigger mess later. Make sure that you have enough memory at least 512 MB and after reading plan your set up well.
MAKE DOUBLEY SURE ABOUT THE .profile file parameters and the kernel parameters so that you do not get errors atbuilding your db or starting oracle.

  • Installing Oracle9i on Windows XP Pro

    Hi,
I've just installed Oracle9i Server on Windows XP, the Database is installed probarly & is working fine, but the Enterprise Manager Console window is right aligned. Everything in it, the File Menu is starting from the right side, the vertical bar is on the right side, the Databases tree is also right aligned on the window.
I beleive that I have to change some value in the Windows Registry, but I don't know which one, if any one can please help me and tell me which value I should change or add to the registry.
    Please reply
    Thank you

I just checked this again, at work, on my 2000 machine. I changed my locale to saudia arabia and that resulted in the alignment you mentioned earlier. I switched it back to its default english - united states and the alignment is no loner at the right.
In addition to that my nls_lang setting is :
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
Note though, that simply changing the locale did it for me, regardless of my nls_lang setting.

  • How to install Oracle9i Client on W2k3  Server

    Hello,
Does anyone know the order to install the 9i client and which packages are actually needed to install it on Windows 2003 Server? I originally d-loaded the 9203win2k3.zip file but it turns out to be a patch. I could not find a server 2003 specific version so i down loaded 9201 zip file. I am guessing that I install that first and then patch. However there is no setup in the patch file and the readme speaks of running scripts to stop the databases?? All i really need is to have a 9i client on server 2003. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a tutorial for not so oracle fluent persons?
    Thanks!
    Chris

    Go to:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/index.html
    Click on:
"Oracle9i Database Release 2 Client for Windows 98/NT/2000/XP"
(It's the bottom link under 9.2.0.1)
That should also work for Windows 2003 Server.
