I installed Parrellels, but now want to remove it. How do I do that?

I want to remove Parrellels from my IMac since it seems to have slowed it down. Any idea how to remove it?

They should have uninstall instructions that came with the software. If no one here is able to answer your question then navigate to the Parallel's help forums located at:
http://forum.parallels.com/forum53.html
and repost there I'm sure it's not that difficult. If you are no longer using MS WIndows on your Mac then I agree removing Parallels and Windows would be wise however if you are then you may want to look into why your system is slowing down.

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, highlight the one you don't want click on the little minus icon.

Hold down the alt key immediately after power-up, select which OS you want to boot, holding ctrl when you select an OS makes it the default.

Installed application but now unable to remove icon

i've tried installing a new game application.. and then deleting it using the installer. now the application is uninstalled but the icon still appears on the home page. i've tried the hold down and wait till wriggle but there is no "x" at the top left corner..
how do I delete this icon which now has no purpose ?

aha yes - Lion has changed you harddrive setup and added a "recover partition" Now it gets - not technical - but time consuming.
try:
insert your Snow Leopard installer DVD.
Reboot
Immediately After startup sound, hold down ALT.
You'll be presented with several options. Select your install DVD and continue.
If it doesn't fail:
Once the installer has started, go t the top menu and select "disc utility"
go to the "partition" screen and erase all partitions back to one single partition
return to the installer and install that older OS X version
give to buyer minus the price of a Lion upgrade
If it fails, go to step 1 and boot from your "recovery drive".
once the installer has sarted, go to the top menu and select "disk utility"
erase the drive partition that used to contain OSX Lion - this will remove your private data, all apps and OSX Lion.
Restart, hold own "eject" and remove the DVD, and shut down again.
You'll have to hand it over to the new buyer in this state. Tell him the machine will boot into the Lion installer but he'll have to create an App Store account to download and install OS X Lion. One again, give him a reduced price equal to the price of the Lion upgrade. Way I see it, no other options remain.

If it's an application, it should be in the Applications folder. If in doubt, double click on the hardrive icon to open it up, then press Command+F (find) and in the window that comes up for what you want to find, type in AOL and it should appear. You can either drag it to the Dock for easy access or make an alias of that, and drag that alias to the Dock. Oh, and just so's you know, this forum is for Desktop macs only. We may be able to answer your question about a MacBook Pro. Same kind of animal, but different breeds.

It's probably looking for the Apple ID & Password you used to purchase Lion, or ML as the case may be.
