I installed the newest itunes, but..
my library of 400+ songs won't show up, my comp doesn't even recognize my ipod mini, and basically nothing works in itunes. I keep gettin this: The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be imported An unknown error occured (-50). I have tried everything the site says to do... Yes I do have Norton 05, but I turned my firewall off and it worked, but, naturally, no library is present. Please help! T.T I've been deprived for 4 days now.. I'm desperate!
Also, when I go to import my music library, I get another error: The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be imported You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. What really P*sses me off about this is that I only have one account on my comp, and that the admin, which I'm using! What the crap is up with this thing?!

A window pops up and says "iTunes was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)" and i've installed the newest iTunes twice. ?? really hoping to fix this without deleting all of my music...
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Everytime I try to install the newest iTunes I get the error message,
"There is a problem with this windows installer package A program required for this install to complete could not be run contact your personnel or package vendor"
halfway through the install. I have tried every troubleshooter that half relates to my problem on apples, and microsofts webites, as well as several I found using Google. I know I can't be the only one having this problem. I would be gratefulk for any help someone could offer. Thank you.I'm having a really similar problem but my error message says "installer has insufficient permissions to modify this file: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dns-sd.exe."
I really don't have any advice except do NOT follow the 'general troubleshoot' crap on apple and delete your itunes. I did that hoping it would fix the problem and now I have the same problem and no itunes- it won't re-install.
Other than that I was hoping maybe if you figured anything out you could let me know and vice versa? Maybe we have the same problem somehow.
Good luck, and if i get any feedback, i'll let you know as well. -
I was asked to install the newest itunes and my software on my ipod just died. its dead so it does a cycle now over and over. it starts with an apple on it, apple fades away and the whole screen proceeds to light up and stay that way untill it cycles and goes back to dieing and shows the battery charging in red till the apple comes on again. My computer wont even pick up that there is a drive plugged into it. Also when i was installing the newest itunes on my comp, there was a error msg saying" ipod service..." something.... thanks Connie

I'm installing the newest version of Itunes over the last version on my laptop. win 7 pro os. it starts the install then a error msg comes up stating that Bonjour service failed to start. verify that i have sufficient priveleges to start system services. I can't retry, ignore only cancel which un-installs all that it has installed and reverts me to the last version which i had. any idea?
it starts the install then a error msg comes up stating that Bonjour service failed to start. verify that i have sufficient priveleges to start system services.
Sometimes we can get past that one by disabling the Bonjour Service prior to the install.
In your Start menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Everytime I try to install the new Itunes It fails. I've tried downloading the set up twice with the same effect.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps I would recommend going through as they should resolve the issue.

I just installed the newest iTunes and can't see any of my songs
I installed itunes, I then directed iTunes to my library. After a wait for my music to be prosessed. Nothing has changed, I can't see my music. I can see and play my music in playlists, Yet I still can't see it anywhere else. I plugged my iPhone in and I see the eject button but don't get anything else!
you click on your ipod in the top right and at the bottom left it should say sync and just click it anfd it will sync your music

I want to install the new itunes but it says it cant find the old one what do i do?
hi, on my computer my itunes needs to be updated but it cant because it cant find the files for it what do i do?
Many thanks.
If it's saying it can't find the iTunes.msi or iTunes64.msi, we should try the following procedure.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

i have installed updated version of itunes but it is not recognizing my devices can anyone help

That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.) -

Whenever you seek assistance, it is necessary that you indicate what model Mac and OS that you are using.
In the meantime, for iTunes 7.3.2 you must have at least OSX 10.3.9 or 10.4.7 or later. If your OS is older, try to upgrade from the Apple Support website.
Older versions of iTunes are available here:
